This coming year, I vow to catch a bass on a jig and a suspending jerkbait. Have any of you a similar goal?
Mine is to catch my LM PB at +8.
Catch a pb on a jig or on a jerkbait.
12 pound - one ounce brown fish!

I would love to catch my first bass on a topwater lure. I know I'm missing out.
But I DID catch my first bass (3) on a jig this year!
I will break the ten pound barrier
Mine is to catch my first 5 pounder. Can't wait for spring!
Hey roadwarrior, love the santas. I think they're supposed to be tip-toeing but they look like they're moon walking. Nice.
I vow to go to work when I'm ill and save my sick days for important stuff...like fishing.
I would like to up my PB's(LM and SM) both in 2013. Also meet as many new fishing friends as possible, and have fun doing it!
Jeff
My main goal for 2013, is to break the NH state record LM (10.5lbs).
Travel to more lakes. Its too easy when you live five mins from one to just drop in. My boat is easy on gas so I should be able to take it more places.

I could be your witness on both of those fine catches.

I'm not betting against you. You were pretty well DIALED in this year. Good luck.
Six pound plus smallmouth
Thanks, Dwight!
Just gonna try to get out more. I fished less this past year than I have in a long time. Between being busy at work and then getting hurt, I don't think I fished more than 30 days this year.
EDIT: Also, not going to limit myself to just bass fishing. I catch musky and walleye on accident while bass fishing. With any luck, If I target musky and walleye, I'll catch more bass.
i resolve to fish my bass off. if i catch anything at all go home happy and if i don't go home happy and eager for the next time. in other words i resolve to keep on fishin.
I'll be taking a vacation week the end of April during early prespawn. Goal: a 7 lb. smallmouth
My 2013 goal is to make the Roadtrip in May.
I have made some great friendships this year and I can not wait for next year, it should be a blast !!!!!

Carp?
I fulfilled several of my 2012 resolutions. 30lb bag (twice). Three bass over 8lbs. Made King if the Glades Classic tourney.
For 2013, my goals:
- Fish at least one BFL tourney on Okeechobee and cash a check.
- A double digit bass.
- Five bass over 8lbs.
- 1000 bass caught.
- Fish all King of the Glades qualifier tournaments and qualify for Classic tourney.

I think he meant another one of these....

To take my daughter fishing more next year. Seems like this year every time we were wanting to go something came up. We ended up only getting out once.
Next Season I will have my sights on "hitting for the Cycle"
For me that would be to land a smb over 21", a lmb over 22", a walleye over 29" and a pike over 40" all in the same fishing season. All of these catches are eligible for the state's Master Angler Awards Program. (Catch & Release only)
But Well before the season opens here in April, I hope to Break the Lake Record lmb on Lake Baccarac ! ! !
(or at least net it for one of my friends )
A-Jay
Mine has to be getting my grandson his first smallie. He turnes five today and I can't think of a better goal than to see his face while that fish is jumping. I didn't catch my first until I was thirteen, been hooked since.

Hmmmmm, so if I adopt your method, and target smaller, less desirable fish, then I will catch larger, and more desirable fish. So simple, and I've been making it so complicated.
As good as 2011 was, 2012 was unusually poor. Between the heat/drought and the lake management (who killed all the weeds in my favorite lake), I was rather disappointed. My resolution is (or would be, if I could control the weather) to have modest temperatures, average rainfall, and no more &^%&$ chemicals in the lake.
Besides this, I hope to actually catch a bass on a dropshot.
Get a boat and win some local tournaments.
find the money to get anything that floats.
im at 8 bass for the year, I want to reach 10 and for next year, with a boat will be easier, get this years goal of 100 bass. Hopefully I do it.
Catch a 7lb Smallmouth bass (Pressure is on Dwight!)
Snook fish more often
Fish a tournament either as Coangler for FLW, or participant on BFL
Fish more often, lol
Learn to drive the Bullet past 80 without scaring the ____ out of myself and the passengers.
Fish more. I had a good year -- heck, I even went bone fishing in the Turks and Caicos in August -- but I missed a few weekends and I always regret not going out every chance I get.
My resolution is actually two-fold. I would like to become more proficient at finding deep fish on my humminbird units, and learning to use spoons to catch them.
One of my goals for 2013 is to put some keepers on the board at my FLW BFL events. Finish in the Top 3 at one of my ABA events and the top 5 in at least 2 events. Ok and win one event also..

I also need to stop beating the banks and start fishing where I can't see the bottom. I will have to start leaving the frog rods at home first and I am sure that will be more difficult than to stop smoking.
Keep doing what I'm doing. For me, nothing beats snook, tarpon and jack crevelles, I apologize to any species I omitted by accident (Permit).
Dear Santa,
For 2013, all I want is a big fat bank account and a skinny body.
PS.
Please don't mix that up like you did last year!
my resoultion is to spend more time with the wife and kids less time fishing haaaaaa got you all joking
Just got a new small Tracker this summer and I need to learn how to use the Lowrance "cheapo" depth finder that came on it.
Not used to using electronics.....many years ago actually had an expensive paper graph......loved that thing, but rarely used it.
But been years.....now I have to look for drop offs in my small bayous. Found a few and the jerkbait fishing has been great.
Second thing is learn a little more about using jerkbaits.....especially the Pointers and Vision 110's.
I had a great year this year compared to previous years. Caught my PB LM. Built confidence in the carolina rig and shakey head. I hope that this coming year I can learn to catch fish on a jig. Tried several times this year and was unable to do it.
6lb bass.
get better with cranks and jigs. specifically punching and football jigs. Get some portable electronics so I can get a better idea of the bottom.
Maybe a little more patience to try drop shotting more often.
LESS buying new plastics.
A citation of anything.
Catch a new PB smallie. Against all odds I've caught 3 now that were 5 exactly. Very respectable fish considering our state record is under 7 pounds. I hooked one last year that probably would have gone 6 and now that I live half an hour closer to one of the best smallie lakes in the state I feel I have a good shot at doing it.
