I'm starting to throw the ole C-rig more now.
What's your absolute favorite bait to Carolina rig with and why?
Brush Hog.
Uhhhhhh ...... I don 't have a favorite, less alone an "abslute favorite". :-?

x2 so many different baits will work on it.I have thrown any and every style bait I've got including frogs and have caught fish.Leader length, water clarity, and overall fish activity can dictate the effectiveness. If I HAD to choose one it'd be a real toss up between, paca craw, senko style bait,or fluke though.

Awesome advice! Just caught three huge bass that I honestly don't think I'd have caught without your post. Not sure what I'd do without you Raul. :-)
Lizzard.
But rigged in the side and not the head.
For a BIG c rig I have to go with a 12" Manns Jelly worm(black grape or wat/red). For a light c rig I love a Grande Bass Mutant(trophy hunter). Why? Because they both work.
Up where you are, a darker colored fluke or sluggo on about a 24" leader, or, dare i say it, a baby rage craw on about a 12" leader.

how do you rig it in the side?
anaconda!
6" Zoom Lizard & Trick Worm...why? because those lures when I use'em are really effective !

I C-rig alot and only use one bait...Eeliminator tipped 1" on end of tail with Chartreuse JJ's and WHY? Many other baits will work but from my experience, if they're gonna eat a C-rigged bait, this one gets it done for me.

Back in the day it was a 6" Zoom green pumpkin lizard. Fast forward to the present and a c-rig for me is 8# XL, Projo slip shot and a 4" Roboworm sculpin.
Rage Tail Lizard and Eeliminator
8-)
My standard goto for C-rigs (as well as a lot of other applications) is a Lake Fork Tackle Ring Worm - it has the bulk to make the bigguns hungry and the ribs make it easy for them to find.
For numbers a centipede, for big bass a 6" lizard.

Wacky or Texas rigged?
10 inch Zoom Old Monster, or 8 inch lizard. Both in junebug.
Because they catch big fish.
1.)brush hog & baby brush hog or any creature bait really
2.)Trick worm
3.)Any worm with ribs in it
4.)zoom ol' monster(plum apple)
I manley use some variation of green pumpkin in all these baits.....I just started using the ol monster this year as a c-rig bait and im suprised how well its been working!!

I almost always T-rig 'em - just because it cuts down on the hang ups.
Berkley 7" Power Worm
My favorite is the Rage eeliminator for sure. It has been my top producer regardless of the time of day. Here is a link to my new pb that I caught today on a C-rigged eel.

8" purple lizard or a black 10" powerbait worm. can't pick a fav. i always think the deeper i'm fishing the bigger the presentation should be.

I have always thought the same thing regarding larger baits.
A floating wake crankbait in Pearl Shad.
I did exactly as Big-O directed with the RT Eeliminator and caught my PB with it.
That thing just has incredible action in the water.
Z-Man Lizard...they float

French Fry...cause it works
Six inch Berkley Power Crawler in black or junebug and Zoom lizards in pumpkin. They just work best for me and I am not sure why.
The RT Eeliminator is my "now" permanent choice, only time changed is for color adjustment or worn out bait replacement.
What are your favorite colors on the Eeliminator?
QuoteWhat are your favorite colors on the Eeliminator?
I use the green pumpkin 90% of the time. With that said, a little JJ's on the tail tip is generally found on mine as well.
Second choice would be the watermelon/red Eeliminator. With any luck, SK will add a complete line of colors to this bait. The productiveness of the eel is simply amazing.
