I looked online and I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. At work to so didn’t have as much time but I’m wondering what everyone uses for a swimbait Head on the 3.8 inch keitech? I’ll be using this for pre spawn smallmouth and fishing in 10 ft or less of water. I looked at the Matt Allen swimbait Head or the revenge swimbait but didn’t see much reviews. What’s everyone go to for these and weight for that deep of water? My first time really using swimbaits for smallies.
The guppy head is what matt uses for the smaller baits. If you go real small then they use a darter head.

Trokar the sharpest there is and very strong.

I need something for smallies. They are pretty big on Erie but those look decent. I want them to be strong but not insane strong where you need heavy rod. @QUAKEnSHAKE those look nice to. What size are the hooks on the 1/8 or 1/4 oz? Was looking for a 3/0 hook and what size is that keitech in your picture ? That looks perfect

VMC makes those boxer heads too but I bet trokar hooks are better. My favorite swimbait head by far, and the 3.8/4.8 keitechs fit them perfectly.
I fish them on a fast action MH rod with 15lb fluoro.

@everythingthatswims Beat me to the the punch ~
I am a huge fan of that VMC Boxer head for swimbaits on smallies.
(Use it on my A-Rigs for brown bass too)
The hook is stout but not overly.
The 3/8 oz matches up nicely with the 3.8 and the 4.3 inch baits.
????
A-Jay
1/4oz head with a 4/0 regular wire hook.
Buckeye lures J-Will series are good ones too.

Pictured is a 3.8" fat with 1/4oz head
1/4 oz has 3/0 hook
1/8 oz has 2/0 hook
I use Medium power Fast rod with 1/4oz and ML/Mod rod with the 1/8oz.

Do you know what size hooks those are?? I hate that it doesn’t show if it’s 3/0 or bigger
We offer several different styles from tungsten to lead.

Was just looking at those. What size hook comes with the 1/4 and 3/8 oz?
3/8 heavy wire next to Keitech 4.8 and 1/4 light wire next to 3.8 fat. Note the four barb keeper. Hope this helps. I can't find a reference to hook size on TW or Dobyns. Happy Thanksgiving !

Check out the flat eye piggyback jigheads on the Stankx site.
On bare (I.E.NOT used as a swim jig or other skirted head trailer)...I use on the 3.8" Revenge Swim Bait heads, for open water applications, and a mix of Gamkatsu EWG weighted Superline spring-lock's or Owner weigted Beast hooks for weedless presentations.
I will be trying the Dobyns heads next year as well.

Yeah I picked up some dobyns heads and the boxer head jig as noted above. Got some keitech in the electric bluegill , perch, goby and sun gill color ! Hoping for good results for pre spawn smallmouth. Also looking at some tubes now.. I usually only use jerkbaits and crankbaits but heard good things about tubes to

Perch and Sungill (along with boring old green pumpkin) are my go-to Keitech colors....good choice there.
I am a big fan of Mizmo "slim jim" tubes for smallmouth in "work of art" and green pumpkin copper. Never liked "fat" bodied, or double dipped tubes personally
See what heads work best for you, but for me..I am much fonder of the LESS COMMON straight eye, 90 degree bend heads than the flat, angled line tie heads. I usually go with 1/8 oz. (less than 10 FOW) 3/16 (casting in lite wind for 10-20 FOW) or 5/16 oz heads (drift and drag in 10-20 fow, or casting in windy conditions), but there is a time and place for heavy heads up to 3/4 oz.
I've had good success with strife king squadrons in 1/8 and 1/4. You can get em anywhere including Walmart. Only other jighead I've used with it was bass assassin and they got it done. I believe both use gammy hooks, wide gap. I usually use berkley fusion 19 swimbait hooks. Those are GREAT hooks....
@Ksam1234 Keitech makes these specifically for the (fat) swing impact. They are tungsten and a little pricey but they are sharp.
Those Boxer Jigs are a solid jig head design. I use the VMC version and like them quite a bit.
Those Boxer jigs from VMC and Trokar are great. I'll also give Siebert Outdoors jigs a nod as well. I love that he offers some oddball weights like 3/16, 5/16, 5/8, etc. as well.
Some that I use are VMC Boxer Jigs. I like them!

*You must be using braid to use a M or ML for swim baits !

The ML I use #8 Nanofil with 1/8 heads and mostly 2.8" fat keithech or 3"- 4" regular swing impacts. The M is #16 Sniper FC with the 1/4 heads and 3.8"-4.3". The Trokar hooks are SHARP penetrate easily.
