My love of fishing gossip wont allow me not to start this thread....
Its that time of year! New baits and equipment will be coming out very soon at ICAST 2014. SOmetimes, we get some info on one thing or another. Feel free to share anything you read here! I'll go first:
-Abu Garcia Revo Beast: Toro-sized reel with a Revo profile that has a 7.1:1 gear ratio
-Duckett casting reels: There have been threads on this already; and we all know its coming
-Strike King: KVD Swimfish- i think this is another bladed swim jig, but it could be a trailer for a bladed swim jig. They also have some niche crankbaits coming out.
Anyone else want to jump in?!?!?!
-New daiwa zillion reel
-New daiwa zillion rods
-Maybe a new lew's reel
-13 Concept KP reel
-New 13 "muse" high end rods
-A new abu garcia rod in the $100 or so price point that is green if I remember correctly. Chris lane was using them at the recent tourney in Fl.
I have also heard deep rumblings of a dobyns rod at the $100 or so price point. I have also heard that there might be a new citica.

I'm looking forward to the new Dean Rojas Duckett rods, from what I've read he's going to have three signature rods.
Dobyns zayta!!!
Sorry had to. This rods 3 icasts behind as is.

Those are All Stars. They are called All Star Lite's or something like that. Academy already has them in stock.
I'm anxious to see the new Daiwa reels, (just like I am every year )

They have been saying that since just after the Savvy series came out. Instead they released to Coalition and since a whole lot of new rods in existing lines but nothing else
the KVD swimfish is going to be a trailer for the Chatterbaits. I figure it will either be like the Roboworm E-Z Shad or either a Keitech Fat IMpact.
No body has the goods on Shimano?
I'm wanting to see the Shimano rod gossip
Let's just answer the annual question now:
No, it's not open to the public. It's an industry trade show. You have be part of the industry or in the media with credentials to gain access.

I'll bet you're right! I'd almost put money on it that its a Fat Impact ripoff. It Might work, though. I do like the Havoc Beat Shad.

Jump towards the end: are they trying to copy the wiggle wart?
Just gut feelings but I think Daiwa will introduce some new spinning reels, and the Zillion rods and reels. Shimano appears to be coming out with a new Crucial series of rods. Megabass will have some new XX models as well. I'm sure we will see several lure companies show us there version of the spybait. Powell is also updating the Max rod line, possibly some new sticks as well...according to Keith Bryan.

To be fair, not all warts did this nor did the people at storm understand what was causing it. If Megabass can make ones that search consistently, I will take a bunch! (Been waiting for them to come to the states for a while now...)
Heard rumblings that there might be a new steez replacement. Who knows could be the new zillion as well. Whatever it is I hope its affordable. I love mys steez but its not worth $600
Strike King KVD 8.0: magnum size squarebill to complement the 10XD. Makes sense with the obvious trend this year in magnum crankbaits.
No one is going

Do you know anything about "some guy" introducing a new worm specifically designed for the wacky rig?

Looks like a beefier version of the Cyclone.

Care to elaborate on that?
What are you showcasing?
The stuff that Savage Gear is showing at Efftex right now I'm sure will show up some at ICAST.
They've got some COOOOOOL stuff coming out.
Sure hope the KVD is a copy of the Keitech.. so far the KVD knockoffs imo have been better than the originals.. and I hate payin an arma nd a leg for Keitechs.. but it says the KVD is for chatterbait trailers.. does anyone use Keitechs fro that? I'd think it'd be overkill..

Looking forward to the new *** rods.
I'll be at ICAST this year, I'm pumped.
Looking forward to the *** "trick shop" parts, as well as the KP line.
Spro will be releasing a new rat swimbait.

I hope they're not $25 a pop. My girlfriend is going to want sixteen of those.
Fenwick will have a new line of Elite Tech Bass rods and one that I know of is a 7'8" cranking rod. I'm not sure how many rods will be in the line but I know they were based upon what Ott Defoe wanted.

Keep thinking that and I'll keep catching bass on huge baits regularly.

Post like this make the monkey super excited!
Wasn't there an iCast in January in Las Vegas? I thought the fishing companies only held one expo/show a year. What is this ICast in Orlando about?
iCast is once a year. Last one was in July 2013 in Las Vegas.
I've been told the zayta wasn't coming out until late this year or early next. I got to hold the new zaytas and they are the best thing I've ever felt.On 6/2/2014 at 4:58 AM, iabass8 said:Dobyns zayta!!!

zayta? is that suposed to be a step above the champ extreme?

I use Keitechs for trailers. A good alternative is the Bass Assassin Boss Shiner. Can't tell a difference at half the price.

If they were able to replicate the searching action of the wart I would jump all over these!

Hey Glenn!

let me know.
I can be there in 3 hrs!!

Yes. It's been in the making for a few years now. Lots of set backs that are out of his (gary) control.
Gene Larew is supposed to be showing a new bait that is coming out. The owner is slamming them in Michigan at the present time with the bait. I'm anxious to see the bait due to the Biffle bug being a big hit!
I developed something really unique-It wont be ready for ICAST though.
This year we will be showcasing the New Roland Martin Big Bass Spinner Baits-
Zayta ain't coming. Thank Pure Fishing for that.

Dobyns was planning on using a 3M material and Pure Fishing purchased the rights to the material.
3M Nano Matrix Resins.

Ah ya that could throw a wrinkle into things. Seems pretty silly to do all the planning just to have it bought out from you though

When will these be available for us regular folks? The picks u posted really has me wanting these!
I saw Aqua-Vu is showing a trolling motor camera mount at iCast. Not sure how useful it will be except for right around the boat or in really clear water but it looked cool lol

Very cool! But I agree with your post.
I guess how clear the water is will be the most important part.
I wonder if Lews will be adding any more reels to the already extensive line up. Maybe a magnesium reel, or a new TP size reel with the BB1 Pro braking system.....
Some of the new 13 rods will have Fuji Torzite guides and the brand spanking new Fuji TVS spinning rod reel seat (blank through design!), and the new PTS casting reel seat which looks fantastic!!

I'm very excited for Duckett's line of casting reels. I'd like to see some lefty 8.0:1 ratios for flipping and frogging.
BOOM!
Thank you, bassmaster!

I see some must haves for me!!!!!!
The KV 1.5 shallow looks good. The rage winnow looks like a slimmer LFT magic shad. should be interesting.
I have been wanting a shallow KVD squarebill for a while now, looks like the wait is (almost) over. I'll buy an 8.0.......but like the 10xd's it'll probably collect dust in my tackle box.. I wonder if Berkley is going to have anything new in the Havoc line? I didn't see anything in the bassmaster sneak peek, I know the money maker is new, but it's out there and available now , at least directly from Berkley.
I hope the Shallow Shad Raps get the custom ink treatment as well. I could also go for some more Subwoofer colors.

Thanks for the link... That's going to make for a nice rod... 13 will put those on a new blank, maybe?
I just received this from Daiwa
