$14.99................lol
This is something I can definitely utilize.
Fly fishing in lowlight conditions early & late in the day and even after dark, changing flies is a challenge for me, even with magnified readers (glasses).
I'm going to try it.
Thank you for posting it.

Good idea.
Could help us tie our knots faster and better.
Hope someone gets one and can try it out in order to post back what they think about it.
Looks like you could make one with a clothes pin....
I like it.
Hootie
Kind of expensive, but I ordered 3 anyway. Giving 2 away. My eyes aren't the best so this should be a big help. Will post back after getting to use it.
Take my money!!
I might try it. Looks like it's limited with regard to the number of different knots it can tie. I only use the clinch knot in limited circumstances.
Josh
Little pricey, but looks like a good idea, especially for low light situations. If that could keep me from using a headlamp that would be great.
Holy cow that's awesome!! I can see that as useful for me.
I remember when learning bottom fishing long pole technique
from an elderly Korean man, he was trying to thread a hook but
kept missing it. I helped him, but inside I laughed and felt sad
for him at the same time. It was so easy for me to see the eye
and get the 6lb test line thru it.
That is until the first time it happened to me after my eyes started
"the change" after I turned 40....
These things find a way to come back and bite you in the butt, LOL.
Unless it ties the knot for me, I'm not buying
I can see the eyelet of the hooks just fine. but my hands just don't hold a hook! I have used a my hemostats in the past but this looks like it my do the trick.
Bit overwhelmed at the enthusiasm. I kinda thought it was the chuckle of the day, given the price tag. If it works for us go4it.
I once knew a girl that could tie a knot in a cherry stem
I am blind in one ey and not so great in the other from Diabetes. This should help me imencely.

You forgot the picture to go with that.
I can barely see, should be replacing my 5 year old glasses instead of being on this site and buying fising line but I GOTTA HAVE IT!
I am going to wait for the 2.0 version. It sends a small robot up your line checking for nicks, chooses where to cut the line and then chastises you for fishing with monofilament...
Neat little tool, especially for us that wear glasses...I have a hard time seeing up close with my glasses on, and have to remove them to tie.
I have had a similar tool for tying snell knots for years...forget the name of it, but it's handy.
I'll say it if no one else does.....for us older fishermen and women this seems like a worth-while product. As we get older certain things start to fail us. Maybe its the hairline, or the bum knee, or maybe its our eyes. In any case, this is like * for our eyes. :0

And sell it for $10.99!
How does it do my uni to uni and my Modified Albright???
JK, looks like a pretty useful tool in certain conditions, cold being one of them. Wish I had invented it.
I think a lot of us are missing the point of this tool. It's used to thread the line through the eye of the hook, not a knot tool. Most of use old folks need a little help ( some more than others). Pass the line through the hook eye and tie whatever knot you want. Would I buy it? No, but maybe, someday I may have to. $15 is a lot to spend for a tool, unless it will help you keep on fishing. nuff said.
Looks like it would either make a Palomar a little easier or waaaaaayyyy harder to tie . Would like to see a demonstration of multiple knots before buying. The idea however is great and I'm surprised this wasn't made 20-30 years ago.
The joke is on me as I see many people view this item as a serious tool that might be hard to live without, so I'm wiping egg off my face. As many here I fish in the dark and wear progressive lenses on my rapidly approaching 70 year old eyes, happy to report I have no threading or knot tying problems. If I did I'd probably pick up 3 pack of needle threaders for less than 2 bucks or one with a built in light for about $4.00. It works fine, I just tried using 4# mono on a tiny jig head, very functional but doesn't look to cool.
I like it
my old eyes like it
and my ten thumbs like it
SirSnook, You are one of the lucky 70 year olds with the ability to be able to do what you do. I was approaching blindness last year and had 2 very successful eye surgeries in Jan. I still need Wallyworld reading glasses to read/thread line but there are so many who can't. If this simple tool @$15 will help them continue to fish, what a great innovation. Today, was my 69th.
I'll buy it when they make one for a Bimini Twist

I feel for ya, I do wear bifocals but I don't have any problem seeing what I need to tie.

This guy (RIP) claims his knot is a strong as a bimini twist, pretty much the way I tie it and it works quite well. Interesting as no modern sophisticated knot is used, just an ordinary clinch knot. If handles bonefish and permit it's going to handle anything I catch and it does. I go back and refresh myself with this video often.

RIP Jose Wejebe. His show was one of the best ever made. When I fish braid and small leader I tie a triple surgeons knot, no issues with that at all, and when I use bigger leaders I will tie the FG knot or at least the version I learned. Never done anything other than an improved clinch or palomar to tie to a hook or bait. Maybe I can get 95% strength out of a sophisticated knot but I break of very few fish so I am sticking with what I got!

Yeah, that's 4.5 years away for me, LOL.
I've watched 3 of my elder siblings go thru it!
Try 70.......a few months and I'll let you know.
I think this tool is definitely useful for older eyes when threading very small hook eyes. I do think the price is a bit steep for the basic functionality provided but I would probably buy it at some point.

I don't want one
That's the second knot tying aid I've seen in a month. Must be the new craze
I saw this advertised on a News page yesterday.. Still not sure how it helps someone see though..

wait wait wait...What happened to Jose? I used to watch his shows as well and really admired the guy. Just seemed to have all the knowledge in the world about saltwater fishing. Didn't know he had passed.
Much respect and RIP.

He was a Aircraft Pilot as well, he crashed a Hi performance single engine plane on take off..
4 years ago a good friend of mine crashed his YAK 52 while re-certifying his pilots license, upon take-off. He and the instructor both died on impact. RIP Mark, I miss you buddy.
The Spanish Fly website is still active, I watch it quite often.

great for small jig heads but I have no use for it. helpful if you use those kind of baits though.
Might just have to help my 48 YO eyes at dawn/dusk with one of these... thanks for posting it.
