Favorite mid depth crank 2025

fishing user avatarIndianaFinesse reply :

What's your favorite cranks for targeting fish in the 8-12 foot range?

fishing user avatarscaleface reply :

Norman Deep Little N .

fishing user avatarWRB reply :

Norman DD-14 & 22, Poes 200 & 300 series, Bomber 7A and Yo -Zuri 3D Vibe lipless.

I like deep divers like DD-22 & Poe 300 to hit the bottom if those 12' bass are feeding with a foot to it.

I have 3 that I use in rotation and all have a time and place. The Rapala DT-10, Bomber 7A, and the Bomber Fat Free Shad BD5.

fishing user avatar3dees reply :

I refuse to spend 15-20 bucks for a crankbait. Norman DD14 and mostly Bandit 300.

fishing user avatarscaleface reply :

I posted  Deep Little N but its more of a 8 to 10 foot lure for me . 10 to 12 I've been using the Rapala CR14 Crankin Rap quite a bit . It was probably my number one diving bait last year .

fishing user avatarColumbia Craw reply :

Normans Deep Little N and Luhr Jensen 1/4 Hot Lips.

fishing user avatarcorn-on-the-rob reply :

Strike King 3XD all day.

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

Bill Norman Lures has been a long-standing staple in the fishing industry, providing quality, 100% American-made lures to suit the demands of anglers everywhere. In an effort to create an effective crankbait for every possible depth, the Bill Norman NXS Crankbait was designed to fill the gap in-between the DD22 and the Deep Little N. Diving from 12-16ft, the Bill Norman NXS crainkbait picks up where the Deep Little N leaves off and transitions into the deeper range where the DD22 then takes over. Additionally, the body size also fits in-between the two lures and is built with an elevated lip for fast vertical dives, which gets it into the strike zone more quickly and stay longer. The aerodynamic shape of the Bill Norman NXS Crankbait allows it to cast like a dream and helps anglers effectively cover more water. Engineered with an attitude and buoyancy that’s ideal for moving through heavy cover, the Bill Norman NXS Crankbait reduces hang-ups by floating backwards on slack line when it becomes snagged, and often times frees itself. Made with sticky sharp VMC treble hooks, the Bill Norman NXS Crankbait demonstrates Bill Normans Lures’s uncanny ability to build a lure to fit any situation.  Description from Tacklewarehouse

fishing user avatarTeam9nine reply :

Poe's 300 for most of that range, and a Poe's 400 for the deeper edge. DT-10s and 12s are a decent modern bait, as are the RC DD's

fishing user avatarww2farmer reply :

Strike King series 5 is just about right for 8-12 feet, the 5xd digs and grinds a little too much in less than 10', so I keep a few series 5's around for this.

When they are not really keen on the size of the series 5, I switch it up to a 3xd and that works well too.

SK series 5

Strike King Series 5 in Green Gizzard Shad.

fishing user avatartander reply :

Mostly Bandit 300s and some Poe's 300.

fishing user avatarWIGuide reply :

I like the Rapala DT 10 and Bomber Fat Free Fingerling.

fishing user avatarA5BLASTER reply :

Unless I'm fishing down in the 20 foot depths are more I'm throwing the bandit lures.

Have some KVD cranks as well but I seem to do better with the Bandits.

10 to 12 foot I'm throwing a bandit 300 in white with black back.

fishing user avatarSMcLamb reply :

My favorite that touches that depth at all is the Spro Little John MD 50 that gets down to 9 feet. After this I really like the Spro RKCrawler like AJAY said as well as a rapala DT10.

fishing user avatarGreenGhostMan reply :

Most used are SK 3XD and Rapala DT10.

fishing user avatarMichiganBass80 reply :

Strike King Series 5 or 3XD, and the Rapala DT10

fishing user avatarpapajoe222 reply :

I have two; Deep Little N and Fat Free Shad.  Early in the season, I like the suspending model.

fishing user avatarHot Rod Johnson reply :

Strike King Pro Model 4, 5, & 6 Series Crankbaits in Black Back/Chart, Sexy Shad, Firetiger and Neon Bluegill. These Crankbaits can cover most water depths in the 8 to 12 foot ranges.

fishing user avatarBigchunk reply :

I like the spro fat papa 55. Gets down pretty good and tears it up!!

fishing user avatarBankbeater reply :

I mostly use Bandit and Cordell Big-O's to get down to that depth.
