Favorite Color Zoom Trick Worm And Most Productive Way To Fish Them 2025

fishing user avatarairborne_angler reply :

I'm wanting to start throwing Trick Worms as I have heard they are dynamite...what's everyone's favorite color and most productive method of fishing them? Anyone put them on a C Rig with success?

fishing user avatarFelix77 reply :

Shakey Head - Green Pumpkin, Black or Green Pumpkin Magic

fishing user avatariabass8 reply :

shakey head. green pumpkin magic.

fishing user avatarDarren. reply :

Texas.

Black, GP+Chartreuse tip, watermelon magic.

Second would be wacky.

Now for the younger sibling, the Finesse Worm, I'll go wacky first, TX, split shot...and in more colors.

fishing user avatarmotodmast reply :

like everyone else has said, throw them on  shakey head, i dont perfer them on a c-rig because they sink, dont float,

fishing user avatarBubbaDirt reply :

fishing user avatarJigMe reply :

I hate to be the add ball on this, but trick worm will not float so I like them on T-rig or wacky. Robo worm works pretty well on shaky head, at least for me.

You can buy trick worms with no salt, and the tail floats on those worms. Mostly worms with no salt will float.

The ones with no salt work great on shakey heads!

fishing user avatarTartan34 reply :

I fish them T-rig with a 1/8 weight.  I find that for the water I fish (gin clear), green pumpkin works best with a green pumpkin Strike King tungsten weight.

fishing user avatarMCS reply :

In the dead of summer, Texas rigged weightless, cast out drag back suuuper slooooow.

Redshad, bait fish, junebug chart tip are my colors. I use the mutilator in the KVD style.

Caught this one on baitfish last August, came up 3.9 pounds

fishing user avatareyedabassman reply :

For me it would be,green pumpkin, junebug, black, black grape, red, pumpkin, red shad.I like alot of color! I like to fish them on Buckeye flik-it jig wacky,T-rig,split shot rig,Megastrike shake-E-jig,and a drop shot,C-rig works too.

fishing user avatarRAMBLER reply :

T rig weightless, watermelon red.  Toss it up against a log or tree at the shore line and let it set for a little bit and then just barely move it.  If nothing hits it, reel in and toss a foot from the first place.  I've caught more on this than everything else I own added together.

fishing user avatar0119 reply :

Motor Oil limited edition color at Dicks. Weightless texposed around cover or bare bank. Throw it on the shore and drag it in slowly.

big x2!!

middle of August, weightless with a 3/0 hook fished very slow is KILLER. I dead stick them for a good 45 seconds, small twitch and drag, then deadstick again.

Favorite colors are Cali 420, GP Magic and anything with a chartreuse tail!

fishing user avatarTeal reply :

Weightless t rig, 3/0 worm hook.

Skip lure under dock, wait, feel the strike, set hook, reel in hawg, rinse and repeat.

fishing user avatarSam reply :

Depends on the water clarity.

Clear - Watermealon and offshoots.

Stained - Green Pumpkin and offshoots plus Junebug.

Dirty - Black, grape or purple.

Trick worms are great for C-rigs.

Zoom has a new larger trick worm out. If you can't find it in the stores or Internet let me know and I can give you some information on where to find it.

A Swamp Crawler is a smaller trick worm so give it a try, too.

fishing user avatar5fishlimit reply :

I use 2 colors - Flesh and Merthiolate. I fish the TX rig around lilly pads, docks, and on those occasions when I don't know what else to throw.

fishing user avatarjeb2 reply :

On our deep, clear water lakes, I use mostly green pumpkin and watermelon candy. I have other colors but those two are, by far, my most productive. Mostly used on c-rig, but shakey heads and t-rigs occasionally, too.

fishing user avatarA-Rob reply :

Texas

Watermelon or pink

fishing user avatargallowaypt reply :

I usually fish motor oil chartreuse tip, green pumpkin and junebug with various flake colors. Weightless usually works best. It has an irresistible wiggle on the fall when weightless, much like a senko.

fishing user avatarww2farmer reply :

The old bubblegum, weightless t-rigged trick worm, twitched like a fluke/jerkbait over the tops of their heads has been a favorite of mine since................well I started fishing in the mid 80's.

fishing user avatarBluebasser86 reply :

shakyhead or weightless.

Watermelon-red/purple/magic

Green Pumpkin-red/magic

Candy and redbug

Black Sapphire

South African Special

Black, junebug, watermelon/red, and green pumpkin on a 1/8 oz. T-rig or shakyhead jig.

I haven't had any luck fishing finesse-style worms on a C-rig, and I've tried quite a bit.

fishing user avatarJaiden reply :

Bright colors (Limetruse) and twitching it on a 3/0 hook just below the surface. It's so much fun to watch bass come out of cover to hammer them.

fishing user avatarbrady01 reply :

White or Pink T-rigged Weightless skipped under docks!! Killer way to catch fish!!

fishing user avatarBlues19 reply :

Shakey head with a 1/4 oz spot remover. I like Green Pumpkin or Watermelon Red or Watermelon Purple. Havent used Green Pumpkin magic, but looks wicked tight.

fishing user avatar200racing reply :

i like bright for weightless(white,pink,chartreuse,methialate,redshad)

and natural or darker for shakey head for t-rig(junebug,watermelon redflake, green pumpkin,)
