What is your favorite pattle tail trailer for a swim jig ? God Bless & Thanks
keitech swing impact fat seems to be the favourite around here. i like the strike king swimming caffeine shad as well as the bass pro version of the keitech since i can't find them locally
edit: i also forgot the rage tail menace rigged sideways
A Rage Tail Craw or Chunk threaded sideways works well too.
Keitech Fat Impact 3.8
PLine Kick-R Minnow
Allen
another for the keitech fat impact
MissleBaits Shockwave
Reaction innovations skinny dipper. Net Bait paca chunk.
Mr Twister twin tail grubs
Mike
I have tried the Keitech Swing Impacts but they didn't have as much action as I expected. I should have gone for the Swing Impact Fats instead.
That said I use a Zoom Fat Albert Grub on all my swim jigs now since they're much cheaper and more readily available.
Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper
Yamamoto Swim Senko

I love the Zoom Fat albert grub.. and at around $2 a pack at wallmart, they are hard to beat.
Depends.
Sometimes it's a kalins grub if I want to fish the lower 3rd of the water column.
Or a strike king menace (most used) if I want to fish the middle of the water column.
Or a skinny dipper if I want to fish the upper portion of the water column.
In my opinion, the swimbait trailer is the least versatile on a swim jig because of the lift. The menace fishes well deeper like the kalins, but has a little more lift so in order to fish it faster and deeper, you have to upsize on head size.
I use 1/4 oz Brovarney or Lethal Weapon Lures' swim jigs 90% of the time.
I'm partial to the Rage Menace Grub as well as the Rage Craw.
Reaction Innovations Little Dipper, Strike King Menace, and any 5" grub
Kietech or gambler
So far the only one I have had success with is a Northland mimic minnow. But like others a grub is my go to, Kalins is my brand.
I did pick up some smash tech baits smash tail paddle tail baits that I am excited to give a toss this year, but May is a long way away
For paddletail I like:
Keitech 3.8 fat impact on a Cali swim jig
Keitech 4 inch swing impact on a bullet or northern swim jig
RI big dipper and little dipper depending upon jig size
Missle baits shock wave
Yamamoto swim senko cut down some
Have a few others I am testing but the above are my staple
Robo EZ Shad
For my 3/4 I use Roboworm EZ-Shads, Big Hammers, and 6" Kalin grubs.
For 1/2 it's 4" GYCB swimbait or Kalin 4" grubs.
Anything smaller are Havoc Grass Pigs or Havoc double tail grubs.
Swimmin fluke jr pairs up nicely with a strike king swim jig
It all depends on what the bass want. I play around with different trailers until I find one that works.
I have been using the Rage Menace grub, and have had very good results. I plan on trying the 3.8" Kietech fat impact this year.

I did a tub test a while back and was stunned how much action that the swim senko has. I had always thought of that thing as a finesse bait, but man that thing has some violent action. Almost had forgotten about that one, but will be a must try in dirty water to call in the fish or clear water when they want a bait that pushes a lot of water.

Unfortunately my budget did not allow me to test more than I did, but some more common minus the Keitech are in there.
Swimmin fluke jr or 5" swimmin fluke
Reaction innovations little dipper

Big Bite Baits Cane Thumper
If you're looking for paddle tail movement look into the Lake Fork Boot Tail Shads.
Also no matter what you decide on don't be afraid to trim the skirt so you get more water flow hitting the boot/paddle.
KVD Caffine shad or Rage Menace.Creme real screamer gives alot of movement to the jig.
