Who makes the best one in your opinion, which body style produces best during which part of the year, etc. CHIME IN GUYS
for super shallow (surface wakebait) i reccomend Bandit Footloose.
other than that,
rapala dt fat
rapala dt 4
rapala dt 6
Defiantly the dt series from rapala, or shallow diving shad rap
RC 1.5
The Rick Clunn series from Lucky Craft. I'm a huge fan of the RC 1.5 and 2.5
I don't know if you consider it a crankbait, but the Rat-L-Trap is also a fantastic shallow water bait.
My three favorites are:
1- Shallow Shad Rap
2- Bomber Square A
3- Norman Mad N
Falcon
I never really fished crankbaits until I tryed the Rapala X-Rap Slash baits. love um
Hey,
My vote goes for the Mann's Minus Series.
The manns Minus 1 goes from one foot and up...
Mann's Minus 4 goes from four foot and up.... etc.
GREAT shallow cranks at a reasonable price. $4.00 and under at Dick's for example.

Peace
QuoteI never really fished crankbaits until I tryed the Rapala X-Rap Slash baits. love um
The x-rap is a jerkbait.
My favorite super shallow cranks (wakebaits) are:
Gan Craft OSA
LC Fat CB SSR
O.S.P Dai Buzzin
Evergreen Combat Crank TC-60
Deps Buzzjet
I 've had a lot of luck this year with Mann's 3/8 oz shallow diver.
No such thing as "THE" best one crankbait given everyones unique water conditions, but I've caught a ton of fish over the years on :
Bandit 100's
Mann's 1-
Big-O
Bomber shallow A
Have friends who have done really well on the RC's and 'Traps also.

ive gotta couple of manns. i just never use shallow cranks. a good finnese shallow crank is the bagley honey B. has a pretty tight wiggle for a shallow runner, have had real good luck with em in creeks andponds.
The Manns series has been red hot for me this year.
i love the mahns minus cranks . the -1 is amazing runit slow like a wake bait and bass crush'em

x2.
Mann's -1
Bomber Square A
And my favorite, Norman Fat Boy
8-)
I use only two brands for shallow cranks:
Bandit - you can't find a more cost effective and super producing crank out there. I use the Footloose (wakebait) and the 100 (1-5 feet divers) series, and they work better for all sizes of fish than any other crank I have used. You'll catch your share of small fish, but I have gotten plenty of 5 pounders on them too. For their price, they cannot be beat.
Bagley - nice balsa baits, but more expensive and tough to find. I get bigger fish on my bagleys, generally. I love the Balsa B's, BB1s, BB2s, and BB3s with square lips (0-4 foot divers). If you can find the ones with two line ties on the nose, ****** them up, it gives you two different wobble settings, a tight one and a wide one... It's like having two lures in one... I also LOVE the Bulgin B series, (also in sizes 1,2, and 3). They are wake baits that get crushed!
I have used Rapalas, and they are great also. I have been completely underwhelmed with Mann's and Norman baits...
I mainly use Bandits, RC 1.5's, and Zoom Hickeys
My personal favs for shallow water:
Big M Customs (especially the M-Flat)
JawJackers
RAM Baits Luv Plug
Zoom WEC Hicky
John Mills Custom Flatsides
Bagley GForce B-Flat II
Bagley KB1 (short, round lip ver.)
Bagley Honey B
Lucky Craft RC 1.5 and Flat CB SR (disc.)

DING DING DING!
Lucky Craft RC1.5
Lucky Craft BDS 1 & 2
Lucky Craft Moonsault cb100
Lucky Craft Flat Mini SR
Bagley B2
Zoom WEC Hicky
Zoom WEC E2
Zoom WEC Sand Flea
and hopefully some of my homemade baits 8-)
I picked up a Strike King Series 1 (2-5 ft.) at Dick's SG for a dollar yesterday.....a bargain, but let's hope it works!!!! :)

Norman Fat Boy. My go to shallow crank
Jackall Aragon SSR(red craw and chartruese/purple back)
Lucky Craft Fat BDS 2(ghost minnow and chartruese/blue back)
Jackall Aragon SR(red craw and tennessee shad)
In that order
rapala shallow shad rap, x rap, sub-walk, spro prime crankbait (dunno if they're still made or not), excalibur swimmin' image in speckled trout color.
I like Bandits as well as rattle traps(various mfg i haven't got one favorite brand)
The Lucky Craft Moonsault is my favorite but I have had good luck with the Mann's -1 as well.
This year it has all been about the chart. RC 1.5! Everywhere I have fished it usually works. Now the Mann's baby 1- in chart or bone color has been good to me as well.

I have to say some of the new h20 cranks look pretty good but i love minus cranks ;D
