I know this topic has been hit on a lot on this site from a few years ago - but with new baits hitting the market each year, I’m curious about everyone’s opinion.
Whats your favorite brand?
ive used cavitrons and like them. But thinking of getting some accent game changers for throwing toads since they have the bait keeper. Any thoughts on accent or any other good brands?
They are all about the same . I dont like the thin wired baits , because they bend out of shape and break too easily . I use home poured ones the most .
Reluctantly, I'm gonna let the proverbial cat out of the bag. I've been using a buzz bait for several years now that has been a huge producer for me. It hinges at the head and that prevents the blade from spinning on the cast. So, you can cast this thing 17 miles. It's basically a jig head with a paddle tail swim bait on it. There are also a few skirted versions. It's called the Dinner Minner by Bull Sluice Outfitters. I buy mine from the Tackle Trap. It flat out catches fish.
I don't have a bunch of buzzbaits so I don't have an opinion regarding brands and favorites. I have a Booyah clacker and a black single blade. I forget the brand. I found the pictured small double blade snagged in a rock while wading. I put a Kalins double tail grub on it. While I've done OK with the large single blades I have, this small double blade has been killer! It's saved the trip for me several times this season. So while I can't make a specific recommendation, I'll simply suggest that you have something similar as an alternative.
I have tons of different ones and always find myself gravitating back to the cavitron.
At night though I like the boo-yah buzz with the clacker.
Tactical Bassin' just barely did a YouTube video about this subject. Tim Little recommends the D&M Slow Roller and the Brabec Double Buzz as the two he likes the best. I've looked them up on TW and they both get almost unanimously positive reviews. I may have to try a couple and see...add them to my Cavitrons.
For single blade/arm i make (Not pour) my own with stuff from L.P.O. For double blade I was a fan of persuader but TW doesn't have them anymore so I've been using buckeye lures double buzzbaits and like them. And y'all need to remove those beads from in front of your blades. They're useless weed catchers.

That's a cool looking bait. Are you running a Skinny Dipper on that?

No, that's the actual swim bait that comes with the bait. You can also buy more of those as well from Bull Sluice.

Not quite. The Dirty Jigs version doesn't have a swivel point between the wire and the head. So, it's a one piece rigid bait. And the swivel point is the biggest difference here....
My favorite is an older black twin blade Lunker Lure. New ones I use are mostly Strike King.

I didnt know Lunker Lure made a twin blade . Are these parallel or one in front of the other ? Mister Twister had a twin blade one in front of the other . I had a couple of those and liked them a lot .
I throw a buzzbait as much as any lure...I really dont think it matters as long as you use one w/quality components and it planes right. I only use single propped versions. I dont want one that's super slow & think that attributes overrated. Also dont care about trailer hooks. If it came w/them, I use em. If not, no big deal.
The booyah model for $3.99 boats as many fish as the megabass, cavitrons, secret weapons, etc that I own.

Yes. It's an old one, one in front of the other. I've had it forever. On one of the blades it has L.L. in italics stamped on the metal. I think it's 3/8 oz. I havnt seen on other one like it
Cavitron period!
Slowest buzzbaits on the market ????

Catt, I need to try the Cavitron. So many guys say great things about them. I'm always on the lookout for the slowest buzzer out there. I also used to like Bill Norman triple wing buzzbaits. In 3/8 or 1/2 oz I could creep them along pretty slow. Now I can't find em anymore
A double secret buzzbait built by a local guy. It is excellent!
Second is my Cavitron. It is also excellent!
Hart Throb
Lunker Lure ...
old school man ...
Cavitron and Croc-O-Gator are about the only 2 I ever fish with.
The Booyah Counter Strike buzzbait makes a lot of noise and sounds different than most buzzbaits and I have added a couple of those into the boat though. The flat head makes them plan out fast too. My biggest buzzbait bass of the year so far ate one of them.

That's a Cabela's Swim Minnow swim bait. My favorite swim bait of all time. It makes an excellent swim jig trailer, and is excellent on a 5/0 belly weighted Gamakatsu superline hook.

You can replace it with the Cabela's Swim Minnow swim bait. It's the exact same.

+1 ... I started with Cavitrons and have no reason to leave ...
I'm old school......Billy Phillips Buzz Jewel for me.
SK
I'm a big Cavitron fan, but lately I've been having great luck with a Teckel Taker
Hmm...
I thought the Cavitron was the only buzzbait.
Norman Triple Wing. They haven't made them for years, and I only have two left. If anyone has some they want to sell, PM me. I know Strike King makes a triple, but to me, it just isn't the same.

LOL, getting closer, but the Sugar Buzz weight is on the wire, not the hook so it can clack against the blade. So, it probably won't act the same. And it's $2.00 more... Not real sure why you're trying to find a similar bait when the Dinner Minner is readily available at Tackle Trap... Good luck in your search!

Because all of the colors/sizes I want are sold out...lol.
When I used buzzbaits, Cavitron’s were the best by a mile.
And great eat customer service too.
