Well, with Fall fast approaching it will soon be flat side crank time and i was just wondering what is the best bang for your buck flat side crank? I don't really want to spend $10 per lure but I also don't want to buy a cheap lure and have to turn around and upgrade all the split rings and hooks which makes any savings a moot point. Let me know your thoughts!
Admittedly I have not used many . The Bomber Flat A has caught me a lot of fish .
Strike king KVD 1.5 flat side are excellent for around 5 bucks.
Bandit Flat Maxx
6th sense flat 75x Crush. Awesome.

I want a deep diving flat sided crank....
I forgot about the Bomber FaT Free Shad or in this case the Fat Free Shad Fingerling .
6th Sense Flat 75x in Wild Lava Craw.
SPRO Little John in whatever depth you need and any color you want as long as it's Cell Mate.
Lucky Craft Flat CB DR - has a deep one knocker and runs 8ish feet on 12lb fluoro. However, you're going to spend $12-15 to get one. I've got about 50 of these things and I've gotten many of them custom painted since the color options are a little limited when it comes to craw colors.

I agree. Caught this bass on a Little John
I'm a big fan of the 6th sense flat 75x.. but until our friend here on the forum solves his customer service issue, I won't be sending them anymore money. It pains me, I love their stuff but I hate seeing the CS on growing businesses go to crap ????
I'll use a rattle trap style lure instead of a crank bait. You can fish it any depth you want.

Buy them from TW if CS is lacking
I have always been very happy with them

Can you PM me who this is please? Whatever I decide to get, customer service is a big deal to me!

I believe I read that they are sending him a free rod.

I have done well with these two also.

You are quite correct. It would appear that they made good after all. I do love a happy ending ???? good thing too, I have a pile of 6th sense stuff in my shopping cart on TW waiting for the labor day sale lol
The only thing I cannot stand about 6th Sense is that they have had trouble keeping up with their inventory. For example, the Flat 75X in my favorite color, Wild Lava Craw, has been on backorder since at least February and keeps getting pushed back. I suppose thats really an artifact of a company that has really grown fast and is somewhat out of their control though.
I really like the Rapala DT Flat 7 and the Bomber Deep Flat A but they are very different. The Rapala is balsa but it dives right at the sweet spot for mid fall bass and I've caught a lot of fish on it. The Bomber Deep Flat A is my smallmouth flat crank, it is basically a lipless crank with a lip, and as hard as it is to believe, it actually works in colder water than a Shad Rap. I had a day that the Deep Flat A accounted for 11 good size smallmouth 14" to 20" in a mid December outing with 44 degree water temps. A friend of mine told me to use it instead of a jerkbait because the water had some color and he was spot on, that thing is a fish catching machine. Since that trip 16 years ago I always have a Deep Flat A tied on when fishing md Spring and Fall smallmouth, Apple Red Crawdad and Pearl Shad are the only colors I have because they work so well I never felt the need for any others.

I like these as well, I only use one color. Sexy Shad.

I have both those lures and never use them . I tried a couple of times . One of those things where i didnt catch a bass and havent developed the confidence in them . The RC , I have both sizes .
Poe's and Bombers.
The very inexpensive H20 Xpress Flat Sided Square Bill from Academy is a great budget option, especially when they go on sale several times a year. Bad Shad & Bluegill ate my fav colors.

If ya never throw em you'll never gain confidence in em!
The only cranks I recommend are Big M’s Crankbaits. I have others, but these are the best I know of.
Some baits get no love but they work.

I bought so many of those Poe's baits after Clunn won the Classic using them. Only caught a few fish on them but they will always be in my tackle box.

Megabass Sonicside so far took over as my favorite non balsa flatside. LC Kelly J Flat and 6th sense crush 75 are close seconds. Balsa would be the Zoom WEC wobbler and Dbaits
I really like the KVD 1.5 and 1.0's in smaller creeks.
I've been eyeing the 6th sense for a while too, probably grab some soon.
I have some 6th sense crush 75x's that just showed up today thanks to this thread.

Will be getting a few of these next.

Have any of you guys who have this bait had issues with the bills breaking easily on them? Looking at the reviews on TW many of them have had issues with this and some say they actually broke in their tackle box without even being fished. Just want to make sure cuz if durability is an issue I may go with the Spro Little John MD.

I have not had the bill break on a flat 75x... but I have had several bills break on the crush 50x.
Well, ended up going with the 6th Sense Crush Flat 75x at the last moment of the TW Labor Day sale! I got 5 in different colors: Baby Bluegill, Chartreuse w/Black Back, Boiled Craw, Chrome Treuse Shad and Supermodel (which looks to me like a Sexy Shad). Hopefully I made a wise choice and hopefully they'll catch me some nice Fall bass. I still have the Spro Little John MD's on my radar though...maybe a Christmas gift idea .

I ordered a couple 75x too from TW, first time ever trying one.

Me too! Hope they work as well as everyone says they do.
