Do you see enough added value to justify the increase in cost? I have no problem with it being $16 but I would want to know for sure it was worth it.

I mean it's a friggin' jig with a piece of tin on the front, right?

Lol fishballer. I agree the price seems a bit high. I really don't see anything innovative. The chatter bait freedoms were something new but this isn't going to stand out IMO. We will see soon though

Yup ~ And judging by the number of companies offering them, there's a decent chance that the profit margin percentages may be very favorable.

I'm sure Hite needs his $4 per unit commission for designing such a revolutionary lure. Who ever would have guessed that a fishing lure should have a lead head, a rubber skirt, a hook and a blade? What an out-of-the-box thinker!

I fish bladed jigs the most but at that price id have to pass. I cringed when i saw that price, thats ridiculous.

What I want is a small, like 1/8oz, chatterbait that works well out of the box and will run at low speeds. The Zman ones seem to be about 50/50 about running at anything below a fast burn. When they work they are a really solid finesse lure for bass and for some reason stocker rainbows love them. I have managed to get a few duds to work by bending the blade, but it is a pain and rarely works.
I am really starting to get into chatterbaits but I will fish a $4 Seibert one a lot more fearlessly then a $16 one. I have come to accept that an LC Pointer has some mojo that the cheaper jerks I tried this winter don't seem to have, so I will buy one of them to see if there is anything special going on.
I have a few of the Freedoms and got a nice bass the first time I took it out. They cast very well too, so well that I, while trying to land one right in front of a beaver lodge, over shot by like 10' and lost it in the wood.

The Decoy egg snap is a nice touch but that price tag is a tad steep. It's cheaper than buying an imported Evergreen Jack Hammer, but for that price you can get an original D&M Piranha's for less, or 2-3 other proven chatterbaits like Picasso and Rage Blade.
I was curious about the Evergreen design when I saw it a few weeks back because the blade was attached directly to the head which would violate Z-Man's patent, but now this pairing makes sense.

I'd be more likely to buy it than the 500 lures in-1 swimbait, but I don't plan on getting either. The chatterbait freedom honestly looks better to me, for 1/3 the cost.

Definitely not going to get this because they still have the same skirt length, even though a longer skirt length and free swinging hook gives the chatterbait 5x the action.

The funny thing is that I've ordered custom chatterbaits and bought fancy ones from manufacturers and the chatterbait I had the most confidence in is the Chatterfrog from Zman. I love it because the head is so heavy that I can cast it a long way and keep it down. I've caught lots of fish on it including my second biggest here.

I can't really see any real differences in this and other bladed jig offerings. I would like to see them release a bladed jig with a bit of bend in the blade. I use *** bladed jigs with a bend and you can get some bone shaking thumps from them at slow speeds - works great in dirty water or night fishing. Sorry ZMan, love your stuff but I'll pass on this one at that price.

I'm glad they are releasing it here....That way I don't need to find and order them from Japan. Part of the price is the fact that ZMan isn't actually making them, Evergreen is. They are being made in Japan by Evergreen, they just a cut a deal with ZMan to sell their bait in the US under the ZMan name to comply with the patent issue. I don't think I'd pay $16 for a ZMan manufactured product, but I absolutely would pay it for an Evergreen manufactured product

I don't mind paying more for a 'premium' product. And there does seem to be some differences between this and other products....Head shape is a little different, blade looks a little bigger (or body is smaller - same effect either way though), different snap, and best of all the double barb wire keeper. I'd buy it for the keeper alone

This is where I'm at on this as well. btw - if you haven't already, might want to check out the O.P.S. Blade Jig - also a product of Japan and sort of in the same (slightly less) price range. Available in 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, & even 5/8's .

We live in the land of 10,000 pike here in Minnesota. Don't know if he would mail you any but if you contact Bob at Wayzata Bait (952-473-2227) and ask him for the small leaders he custom makes to prevent pike bite-offs. Small enough to not be very visible or affect the lure action, but just big enough to keep 90% of the pike from biting you off. They work ~

I appreciate the info. Those suckers can be a pain. The 17 - 20lb Fluoro I use does a decent job preventing bite-offs but it's definitely not fail-safe.

Since my original post - The Z-Man Evergreen Chatterbait Jack Hammer has been my number 1 producing vibrating jig.
Has accounted for several respectable Brown Bass - especially early & later in the season.
Love this bait.

I know the guys at Tactical Bassin' love this bait too. According to Matt Allen it is crucial that the chatterbait start thumping right away upon contact with the water...if it doesn't and has any hesitation before startup it'll alert the fish and they may not bite it. That's what he likes so much about the Jackhammer (besides the quality components), it has the quickest startup of any chatterbait out there. He also recommends the Z-Man Chatterbait Custom (available exclusively at TW) as a cheaper alternative that's still made from quality components and is in the same ballpark as the Jackhammer performance-wise.
