I bought some the other day at BP Macon. Never fished a tube in my entire life. So how do you fish this baits?
They're good, like anything sometimes the fish love 'em, sometimes they want a different tube.
T rigged or on a jig head.
Drag it slowly across the bottom.

Tried it last season and it worked great for me.
I bought some from Dicks and I will be trying them this spring when I go smallie fishing.
I bought a pack when I ran low on my usual tubes I drag for S.M., they worked........no better, or worse than what I usually use (Zoom), but I would use them again and probably will.
Im assuming these are soft plastic? Does bass pro carrie them?
Im a big fan of strike Kings line but havnt noticed them before.
Yes they are soft plastics. Bass Pro carries them. Going to try them out today.
Nope I haven't.
What's next? Bacon and eggs scented.
Im waiting for Homemade Spegetti to go with my Garlic Bread .... or Milk for the PB N J
I prefer using them in the morning, the bass seem to love them then :
I have used them and to me they do not seem any better than any other tube. A nice tube but the coffee thing thing may be a little over-rated, IMO, kinda like a grape flavored worm :
Do they come in De-caff? (Sorry I had to)
HAHA ;D we may never know. I like to rig them on a Owner Phantom Tube Hook and drag them along the bottom.
At the Richmond Fishing Expo, Kevin VanDam told us the story of how Strike King decided to use the coffee scent.
You guys who were there please correct if I am incorrect on some of the story as I remember it.
Kevin said that while the guys were trying new baits someone threw coffee, or coffee grounds, into the water and the minnows just congregated on the coffee.
So they threw coffee in the water a second time to see what would happen and once again the minnows went nuts.
The research guys went to work and created a line of coffee scented baits.
I have purchased the OCHO Watermelonseed 8-pack and the OCHO Okeechobee Craw 8-pack in the coffee scent at Green Top and can't wait to give them a try.
You guys go out and get some and try your luck and we can report back on how they work this fishing season.
Ok gona try these out this week ya sold me with the minnow story
Tell mr KVD to make cream and sugar additives to go with them
I've used them quite a bit, worked great for fishing on beds. My friend was using a different brand and i out fished him 3 to 1. They last long and the coffee scent sticks with them, great for t-rigging.
I liked these tubes but have no idea if the scent helps. They are fairly durable, have 2 sizes and a good color selection.
Don't buy the Goby color. The tube has kind of a purple top and green pumkin bottom and looks good. The only problem is the purple top is laminated on the tube and it peels off like a decal after use. I peeled off the others and use them as my green pumpkin color.
I like the Mizmo tubes better.
I have used them here in florida and have found that there really is no difference from others. Its more of a flavor thing like garlic and stuff. it may have the fish hold on for a few more seconds but so will other flavors. 8-)
Well after cracking a few jokes i decided to get a few packs and test them out. I didnt get any bites but I do like them ... dont ask but they dont taste like coffee
The bass at my local pond must preferr Decaff - Great looking and pretty tough.
Anyone thought about running these on a Jig? I know that sounds crazy but i put one on today to see how it looked and it slowed down the drop quite a bit I know its unusual but so is a wackey right right? Thats how things get started.
I tried them for SM fishing some last Oct, fishing the Mississippi just below a dam in St. Cloud, MN. Minnows were ruling the day but later I was casting out into the main current and cranking it out like a swimbait and jigging it through the slack. Anyway, I ended up catching a 6lb Walleye on one just as it was coming out of the main current. That ended the day!
I will be trying them again this year (for bass not walleye) to see how they produce.

No but I watched Shaw Grigsby on TV slamming smallies with em'

Oh well, there goes my line.
Great minds run in the same channel, or fools think alike?
Personally, they are my favorite tube. Despite the argument on weather the bass enjoy the coffee scent, the fact is that the coffee masks the human scent which is always a plus. But the reason i like them is because their action is great and are extremely durable.
I really like the Snack Daddy tubes and Poor Boy's tubes but I thought I might just try these SK Coffee tubes this year. I've heard good things about them.

Thinking coffee flavor would make a bait more productive is pretty silly.
what weight of a jig head do you use dont remember how big the strike king tubs are 3- 1/2" or 4 "
i e-mail them once asked them they make every thing else in sexy shad color how come not the tubes ? :
I bought a couple packs of them last year. I use them split shot style with a smaller hook on a shallow local lake. I do decent, but am not sure if it is the coffee, or it is new to the fish there. Poor boys tubes are the shizzle though.
I watched the Shaw Grigsby show the other day with the guy that did the coffee tube- A lot of research and developement went into that - OH PLEASE-minnows arent bass-period
Man, and I always figured the controversial bait of the day would be the laser lure, guess I was wrong.
I think they probably work fine, the coffee scent helps overcome any human scents or plastic scents. I've used em and haven't caught much, but that goes for most tubes for me. ;D
