hey guys,

how do you (all) carry your soft plastics. I really want to keep the baits in their original bags (it helps me remember what size color etc) and they seem to me to stay fresher.

Lots of guys use those binders that are designed for carrying plastics...I do lots of fishing in a kayak and I use a big heavy duty ziploc bag that I just kind of shuffle through like you would a file cabinet when changing baits....

XL Plano for me. Holds a ton, and I can keep them organized in the original packages. I cut a piece of cardboard to keep the 2 rows from trying to get into one another. works great for me.

I have a BPS Extreme 370 bag. I just roll up the plastics in the bag they came in an put them in the 370 boxes.

i have a binder for most of my plastics, but plastics i go thru a lot i still use a zip-loc

Ive been thinking over the same problem. Right now I keep them in their orginial bags and placed in Tupper ware boxes. A little to bulky and space consuming for my likeing. Have been thinking about putting them into plano boxes but have read mixed things on that method.

I put some in boxes and leave in my bigger tackle bag and I keep the few that I use in original bag with me in my smaller more mobile bag... Bank fishing life is rough lol need a boat

I have a bass tender boat (which I just got a few weeks back and love but it sure has its limits) there is no storage on the boat. I want something I can grab up like the bass pro bag that has the boxes of my crank baits

I just did not want to take the worms or similars out of their bags and into those boxes. I am sort of on the fence between rolling the bags into boxes or that bigger box option

I would still have to contend with organizing hooks, weights, wacky rings etc do you/would you put that all in the same boxes too???

I hear that for sure. I was a bank guy most of my life. I got a little jon boat a couple years ago and made a comfort up grade to this tender. a bit hard to get on the trailor as the tongue is too short to get it far enough into the water but otherwise a great deal and very nice on the water

I guess I have another excuse to go to bass pro: have to look at bags and boxes myself to see what is what there

with no storage on my little boat, I know I will loose my mind with a bunch of zip bags of zip bags LOL

I need something that is going to be easy to thumb through and all in one to be easy to get on and off the boat quick

sounds like one of those folder types: I have not seen one in person to know anything about them

I don't use a pile of ziplocks, I get the big heavy duty versions so I won't have a bunch to deal with.....then, I open the bag and thumb through the tops of the packages until I get to the one I need.....very handy

As I fish from a light kayak, I have a watertight box I put my favorites in (or any plastics specific to where I'm going). The rest are in the original packages in my main T box packed in the back just in case. But then I have to beach the yak......but that's worth it, 'cause then I probably am getting bit like crazy

Keep the soft plastics in their original packages. Keep similar baits grouped together in gallon zip lock bags (the heavier freezer bags, not the regular ones) Find some kind of bag to keep the different gallon bags in. Walmart sells them, or a gym bag of some kind, or a mesh bag or whatever. If you are really stuck for cash, go to a goodwill/Salvation Army store and find the largest womens purse you can find. That will surely hold 6 or 7 or 10 or more gallon zip lock bags. The womens purse angle had the added advantage of no one else will want to be seen with it, so the odds of it getting stolen go way down.

While pretty confident in who I am: I am stil not carrying a hand bag regardless of how organized

not to mention, 90% of what goes into my wife's purse is never seen my human eyes again. That would be the opposite of what I want LOL

so its down to either a tote or box with zip bags of worm bags or a file type binder of worm bags in zip pages

leaving the purse in the car.

either sounds pretty decent to me: I only carry 15-20 different bags at any one time anyway so its not a massive pile but enough to cause issues in keeping straight and making sure I am not heading out with just two more of a certain color or size left in a bag

Being on my way to club advisor for some high school boys where I teach, I wanted to be a good example in every way possible including the little things (in the boys' eyes) that make a difference in a tournament like being very well organized and stocked to the best you can afford.

that has been one of the biggest surprises for me in starting this club: I have gave pause to re-think just about every aspect of my bass fishing. What is the best way to show each part of the sport: equipment, knots, baits, storage, stratagies and so on. There is no doubt I will have learned at least as much from the kids as they from me by a year from now and no reason to think that will change in the years to come

I label gallon zip loc bags into different types of plastics, senkos, finesse, mag woms, swim baits, creatures, beavers, craws, etc. They have enough room for a bunch of bags of plastics in each. Then I'll pick a few from each bag when I go out and put them in one of those bassmaster bags. Keeps me somewhat organized. I could also tow the whole gallon bag, but most of the time it's unnecessary.

I keep the plastics in there original bags until I use one. Once the used plastic comes out of the water and I change it we can't put it back in the new package it came out of so I put it in a zip loc bag so it can be reused again. Plus it won't contaminate the other new plastics in the new bag. I have a lot of plastics but I refuse to waste any, not even one.

I also leave my full bags of plastics home. I put a hook in one and a few extra in a zip loc bag.

All my plastics stay in the original bags. I have a couple deep, single, large compartment Plano 3700 size boxes. I have a box for craws/creatures/jig trailers, one for worms/flukes/senkos, and another for misc stuff, like small drop shot baits etc....I keep a big waterproof box full of extras in the boat to restock things in the boxes as they get low, and even more in a Rubbermaid tote at home.

How does it contaminate the other plastics?

I keep them in ziploc bags and plastic boxes at the house. I put what I plan to fish for the day in a plano speed bag to take in the boat.

spiderwire worm binder from walmart -$9.98. Has 15 heavy duty zip lock bags inside on binder rings. I put 2 or 3 original packages in each ziplock, sorted by type (senko style, craws, creatures, etc.) This allows me to easily flip through the pages to find what im looking for.

I attached mine to my tackle bag with carabiners for easy carrying.

If you go that route, make sure it has all the pages in it. Walmart doesnt sell the extra pages, and ive come across some of them where someone has apparently helped themselves to the bags inside.
