I'm curious fixing to order some swimbaits and I can't decide..I've havent used firetiger color much at all..not a confidence bait for me at all..a few of my buddies swear by it..I said I was gonna use white more this year but debating about firetiger vs white on the last of my order?
I absolutely love the color firetiger. Personally i like to use it during the summer, for some reason here in Bama the fish get vicious when I throw any lure in firetiger.
Fire tiger deep cranks were the ticket for me and my partner in one tournament. I had to put one on after he was cleaning up
I like firetiger shad raps in shallow muddy water when bass are first starting to move up!
I just got a medium diver Little John in firetiger. It's getting tied on this week. Great color.
Culprit worms still makes a firetiger pattern 7.5 inch ribbontail, it is a very subdued version of the bright firetiger seen on cranks, but it is unusual. I use it when I think the fish are getting tired of the standbys.
I love firetiger when I'm river fishing. I remember I had one tiny little perch imitator crankbait that was a firetiger color. It came out of a little blue fox crankbait kit. I caught so many fish on that little thing. Wish I knew where it was.
Firetiger coloured cranks work very well around these parts.
i use firetiger stick baits for largemouth in very clear water in the early spring and they out produce my natural colors at times
Firetiger and Mistake colored cranks are some of my favorite dirty water colors.
Only thing. i had any consistent luck with on the river last year. Fishing rock walls with this cheap walmart crank.
Caught nothing big but quite a few bass and some nice size bluegill
When I lived in NJ Firetiger was my favorite color. Not so much now that I live further south where there are less yellow perch in the lakes I fish.
Firetiger cranks are one of my favorite and best producers. But you can't go wrong with white either. I am afraid youll need both...
Firetiger and smallmouth go hand in hand on the river. They also do well in shallow muddy water when the sun is high.
Just wondering, is it an S-Waver? And I was also curious about this color.
I have it in several baits but I use it most in Roostertails and spinnerbaits. Hardly ever in crankbaits and jerkbaits or topwaters. And yet I own so many....
Firetiger is a proven crankbait color for dirty water but not so much in swimbaits. Not saying it won't work but there's a big difference in a swimbait bite and a reaction bite.
Of all the crank baits I have, firetiger gets used the most. I've been throwing a Bomber A firetiger since I knew what fishing was.

What brand?
I pour my own:
The bottom one is salted and painted (spots) and dyed with Spike_It.
The top one is dyed but large flakes are used.
Great tidal river bait color for crankbaits.
Try the Norman.

i should of said and meant jerk bait.the brand is the rogue
I sometimes change out the spinners on some of my spinnerbaits to firetiger, has saved the day on a number of occassions. Also use em on in line spinners #4 or #5 Mepps and the smallies smash em.
Definitely try some out, however I am in love with white. Just the fact that I can see It coming through the water, then completely disappear when I get a hit makes it good enough in itself, however In really stained water, firetiger works fairly decent. Give them a try!

i used to hammer smallies on the rivers in Maine when i lived there on firetiger husky jerks...it wasn't even fair lol
I like spinnerbaits in firetiger but don't use many cranks in that color.
For whatever reason, firetiger is a northern pike magnet on my local waters.

x2 here. Firetiger works very well at my local rivers.

Yeah they do attract them up here too. I get my fair share of Smallmouths and Pike in the rivers where I usually throw Firetiger lipless crank.
As others have said, it's an excellent color in stained water and/or cloudy/stormy days. Not so much in clear water though.
I hear stories about success with Firetiger colors but I just can't find myself throwing them.Firetiger to me screams Walleye, Muskie, Pike and Perch, none of which we have locally...I know I'm probably missing out...
Would you think about selling some ? Interested..On 3/11/2013 at 3:32 PM, SENKOSAM said:What brand?

Get both. Fire tiger is good in dirty or discolored water. White is good in both clear & off colored waters.
I could do the top one but not the bottom one. I have to order some more Spike It Worm paint to be able to paint the coach dog pattern you normally see on crankbaits. The bottom stick is a laminate using florescent glitter in clear plastic. The top one is just clear plastic with black jumbo glitter, dyed with Spike It but without salt so it can be used just subsurface over the shallow flats I usually fish in April and May.
For some reason chain pickerel are the main fish I catch on the fire tiger sticks, but largemouth do bite them along with bubble gum, opaque florescent chartreuse, white and Merthiolate (a super intense orange).
Pre spawn in muddy water a few days ago was the ticket to me winning a tournament on fire tiger
Not to highjack the thread, but I picked up a couple of Shad Raps in fire tiger UV. Anyone have any experience with these?

yep...only the pike and musky never seem to eat for me when I am not fishing a bass tourny. I could target them for week straight and not catch one, but when it is bass toirny time I lose sll my favs to the toothed twins!
