Affordable Jigs 2025

fishing user avatarBaconStealer303 reply :

I did a search for this and couldn't find anything... So my friends and i have been throwing ALOT of jigs lately. Were probably gonna make an order for a bunch of them. What are your favorite jigs that are at a pretty good price?

fishing user avatarflyfisher reply :

Both are sponsors here, Northstar and Seibert Outdoors.  They both make super high quality jigs at very affordable prices and have a ton of color and head styles to choose form.

fishing user avatarBaconStealer303 reply :

Thanks i'll take a look at those! I'm just trying to save some money because i know i'll be buying alot

Ditto

fishing user avatarMrSwimJig reply :

Definitely look at NorthStar and Seibert top quality jigs and great prices.

fishing user avatarTexasRigger21 reply :

Siebert outdoors has some of the best jigs I have ever used. They are quality jigs at good prices. $ 2.75 for a jig like that is an unbeatable price. I love them.

fishing user avatarCPBassFishing reply :

Another vote for northstar and siebert outdoors. You really can't beat a wire-tied jig with a premium skirt, invincible paint, and a good hook for $3.20. If you wanna go REALLY cheap, bass patrol and strike king bitsy flip.

fishing user avatarrockchalk06 reply :

Even though you want to save some money, quality jigs will out last a cheap jig. Skirts last longer, hook and paint will lasts longer too.

fishing user avatarComfortably Numb reply :

I agree that Sierbert and Northstar make a good quality jig at a good price.

However, you can buy painted heads and skirt tabs from places like Barlows and make your own for $1.50-$2.00

Buy in bulk and even cheaper.

Just an idea to consider

fishing user avatarBaconStealer303 reply :

I definitely like how the seibert jigs look. Under 3$ is a nice price and you guys seem to really like them. Maybe i'll pick up some Northstar and Seibert to try them both, thanks!

fishing user avatarBluebasser86 reply :

I make my own for less than $1 apiece, can't beat that :). I'd certainly look at Seibert or Northstar though. Their baits look more like works of art than fishing lures.

I'm sure they do. I've caught lots of fish on cheap SK jigs that don't look anywhere near as good as a Seibert or Northstar jig. I can only hope to one day be able to tie a jig that looks anywhere close to as good as theirs do.

fishing user avatarLuckyHandsINC. reply :

I tie my own too. You can buy everything you need from fishingskirts.com. It ends up costing me less than 2 dollars a piece.

fishing user avatarBaconStealer303 reply :

That does sound pretty interesting to tie my own. And cheaper

fishing user avatarslonezp reply :

If you ant to save money on jigs invest in some good braid.

fishing user avatarGlenn reply :

Seibert or Northstar make incredible baits, and I'm not saying that just because they're sponsors.  I was buying their lures before they became sponsors - and still BUY them today.  My tacklebox is filled with their jigs.  In fact, I thinned out my tackle over the winter and removed all other jigs.

fishing user avatarCraiger12 reply :

Northstar. Can't go wrong.

fishing user avatarmoguy1973 reply :

A buddy and I bought a bulk set of powder coated jig heads with gammy hooks on eBay for about .60 each. I then bought a bunch if skirt tabs on fishingskirts.com. They were on sale at the time for .22 per tab with free shipping. I use 2 tabs per jig so that made my jigs $1.04 each. Can't really beat that.

fishing user avatarWRB reply :

Making your jigs isn't inexpensive; you need a mold, lead, hooks, weed guards, skirt materials and skirt collars or wire and paint. Buying components gets expensive fast because you don't buy anything in quantities less than 25 each. Hooks can cost .25-.35 each in qty of 100 for example.

If you know exactly the head type and weight, the colors and hook style and mfr, then it makes sense as long as your time is free.

Tom

fishing user avatarComfortably Numb reply :

Thats why I always reccomend buying finished painted heads for new people. The $5 skirt tool works fine. Start up cost is relatively low. Great for winter projects and you can make some great unique color combos.

fishing user avatarDwight Hottle reply :

Think of it this way. Everytime you buy jigs from Mike or Chris they can't spend as much time fishing. :cry4:

www.bumpkinjigs.com has some and I can vouch for their quality, and they are pretty cheap. Got some killer football jigs and have some swim jigs on the way as well. Very pleased with them.
