Anyone else seem to have this problem? Every time I go in a store with fishing equipment I seem to always leave with something. I always have to look through the selection and then I end up buying more than I need. Too many unopened packages!!!
Am I the only one? Surely not... :
Yes , you are the only one.
NO YOU ARE NOT !!! 95% of the members on here have the same affliction
This sport is an addiction. You are DEFINITELY not the only one. I'm glad the season started, now I can consentrate on fishing and not what I don't have and could possibly one time under a certain condition need. The only problem now is I lose baits and have to pick up more.
Are you kidding? I can't drive within 5 miles of a tackle store without going to pick up a pack of something or a color I'm "low" on. My wife actually plans trips way around any BPS, otherwise, we're goin' in!
It's called the bait monkey and once it gets on your back it is hard to get rid of it. ;D
The problem for me is I'm always trying to find the magical lure. I seem to follow the hottest trends too.
There's been a lot of talk on the website about fat ikas lately so I went out and bought 3 bags.
The sad thing is when I go out fishing I end up using 5-10 lures and stare at the other $1000 in lures and ask myself why I own all that.
Im incredibly guilty of this. Though lately its been more of a gear addiction than lures. Im going to have to enter a 12 step program.
I have so much stuff its insane. Told myself no more crankbaits, jerkbaits, buzzbaits, poppers or spinnerbaits. Only thing I am buying now is plastics. Stocked up on other stuff

I hope your kidding about the magical lure.
You are not the only one!! There is one other thing that happens to me when I'm staring at the isles of lures. I dont know if i get just so relaxed but I tend to have terribly bad gas!! ;D

pity would be a safer pick...
What "problem" ?
I don 't see any problem there, it 's just like you like to purchase stuff, lots of it.

Denial is a river.
I guess I'm cured. I haven't bought anything

All I was grabbing last night was some plastic worm rattles (never used them and wanted to try them). My fianc ée immediately seen me sneaking them into the basket and said "NO! ENOUGH ALREADY! This is getting !@#$&^ ridiculous!!!"
That was that. :'(

Run!! While you still can!!!!!
What bass angler isnt addicted to buying lures?
I have COUNTLESS lures that may never see the water lol. It really is a addiction.
My buddy is well on his way....about 800 bucks in his first month or so of fishing. Me? I'm too broke. This summer, the addiction will be back in full force. I've been suffering withdrawals for the last 9 months...d**n you college!
I stopped by my house after class today to change clothes and go to work. My neighbor yelled at me as I was leaving and told me there was a yard sale down the road that had fishing stuff. I was already late but I had to stop and see if they had anything good. I was 30 minutes late for work.
Did get an old Big O, 3 old Shad Raps, an old Poes, 4 bags of Senkos, 20+ bags of Zoom stuff, and 2 Stanley Wedges all for $20.
Addicted?
Yes
Went in to Bass Pro to buy some platics and a new reel like I always do after a day of fishing. I came home with a Nitro bass boat. You should have seen my wifes face when I backed the boat in the garage 3 days later. "You must be nutts." YES I AM!!!

WOW! That is crazy! Did you still get the plastics and new reel?
Southtexasbassin, you are my new hero!!
My soft plastic bag is a large open mouth construction tool bag that weighs in at an astonishing 48 lbs! My other 2 hard plastic boxes total 54 lbs. That's bass only! I AM NOT ADDICTED 102 LBS OF TACKLE AND STILL BUYING MORE ALMOST EVERYDAY! ;D
My issue is buying large quantities of similar lures when I find them on sale. Sometimes they don't get used for a few years, sometimes they never get used.
For example. $2 Red Eye Shads x 70 from a local Gander Mountain. They were in brown/white and black/gold, and in both sizes. These are two of my favorite bait colors, so I figure I'll use them eventually.
They call em bargain bins, but it's still easy to get carried away.

I know what you mean! A local tackle shop was goin out of business and the owner had Lucky Craft Sammies for under $10 so I bought 4 and when I got home I realized I had 3 of the same colors. Expensive mistake.

Not a chance that you're the only one. I can't tell you how many times I walk into the local fishing store to buy one thing and end up spending $75+. New line, new rubber worms, crank-baits (rapala x-raps), spinners (mepps agila/panther martin), basically anything I can convince myself that I "need."
This is truly an addiction, but much better for you than most.
I can't leave the store without some lures. You know its bad when you get home and find the same lure you bought is already in the box and you forgot you had it. I sometimes talk myself into something because it is slightly different size, color, or action. I need help.
The bait companies and their monkey have us by the privates and there is no way out.

I'm gonna quit buying when I find the lure that works for me.
My friend always said he was a lure collector. He said he liked to fish , but collecting was more fun. He collected every bait you could imagine and in quanties.
