That's an excellent deal. Even at the regular price of $99 they are a great value.
Wouldn't trade mine for any other spinning reel.
I love my president but a supreme for the same price...that'd be hard for me to pass up
Thats what I am saying, Ricky.
It sure is a pretty reel.
Plueger has got their spinning reels down!
Great deal if you like throwing your money in the trash. :-X
I own 2 supremes, 8030 for freshwater and 8035 I use for snook in saltwater. Despite the contrarian view that magnesium cannot be used it saltwater, just isn't true as long as you rinse it off after each use, any saltwater fisherman does that anyway. Mine are about 6 months old and I use them almost daily, 8035 absolutely manhandles 12-15lb snook, I've been using it in favor of my stradic fi 4000. A real bargain at $69.
A negative view based on no practical experience is worthless and should be given no merit.

Why tiptoe around the tulips? If you're gonna call BS, at least name the suspected BS'er. :
I bought one a year ago. Fished it sparingly from Mar-July. The reel blew up. Got to the point where the rotor wouldn't turn.
I got a new one in the mail from Pure Fishing earlier this month. Already on the shelf of a local retailer waiting to be sold.
Foolger fooled me once, that's the only chance they'll get for my money.
Burly, ya think maybe the first one = lemon? I'm certain shimano/daiwa has spit out a lemon or two in their time. Why not give the second reel a shot?
i have the 8025. i ordered it after hearing good reviews and because of the weight.
i prefer my 2008 model shimano symetre. i think it is alot smoother and worth the extra weight.

Foolger me once, shame on you. Foolger me twice, shame on me.
The reel was worth more to me NIB than it would have been if I took it out of the box.
I use Presidents, no problems at all. My fishing partner uses the Supreme ,no problems at all.
There have been 4 threads this year with fellas who had major SheManO problems, does that mean all SheMano's are trash?
Burley didnt have his drag set properly and a 10" dink was burning line off his reel, now he's mad at Pflueger in general.
The reel never caught a fish.
Neither did the angler

Personal attacks are unethical, one's guilt trip is out of my control.
Quotelemon?
Returned a shemano baitcaster after 3 days, grinded, second one is fine. A bad assembly can happen to any mfg co.

Exactly, what I've been saying. Shimano/Daiwa don't have a lock on quality (or quality control, for that matter), and Abu/Pflueger know what the market for this stuff is like and they're stepping up to the plate. If anyone is like me, you have to be value conscious.
Value conscious or not the Supreme is the best spinning reel out there.
I won't buy Shimano as years back a shimano lasted 3 fishing trips. Went in the trash and from that moment forward decided against buying their junk.
Now they build quality reels, and I still won't buy because of the rediculas fan club following.
I have used Pflueger spinning reels for years, fishing out of a kayak in saltwater for reds, trout, flounder and bass fishing from banks, boats, crawling thru swamps and never had any issues. I do all my own maintenance on all my reels so maybe that helps but have never had to do anything other than routine maintenance. They all are made in assembly lines and when you break them down the components are not that dissimilar. For me the performance compared to price has always sold me on Pflueger. So for the topic at hand I think thats is a pretty good deal at Dicks.

dude, i think your credibility went down the drain earlier when you said you wouldnt trade your supreme for any other reel
shimano reels and mtn bike drive train parts are far from "junk".
whats ridiculous is not buying a reel because alot of people love them.
dont take it so personally.
ZEBCO RULES!!!
This thread delivers.
I bought a Supreme from Dick's this past weekend. I've had most experience with Daiwa spinning reels, but, I'm certainly not opposed to trying something new. Many people on here have sung the praises of this reel, and for $70 it seemed like a great deal. I look forward to using it, and I'll report back sometime in the future with how it's holding up.

Value is about far more than price.

Guilt trip? For what, calling a spade a spade?

AND IT'S ABOUT A LOT MORE THAN SHE MAN O'S ;D
Well, for me value IS about quality AND price. Shimano, as good is there stuff is generally, has nothing on anyone else at various price points.
Yeah, better stay away from them Floogers. They'll make your hair fall out, your teeth will rot, your wife will leave you, your dog will bite you.....
Dammit, if my dog ISN'T biting me, I'm gettin' no lovin'. Then again, she's a flat-nosed belligerent pug.......
The flooger brigade marches on.........

that woud be shimbindo!!!a few years back shimbindo spinning reels were binding up all over and they did nothing about it.it caused many loyal shimbindo fans to go to diawa.

The part about teeth is true!

I've owned 4 Pflueger spinning reels for several years and never a problem out of any of them.
