So i bought a carrot stick around a month ago, I shoulda just bought a ugly stick. I guess i fell pray to all the hipe that surrounds those junky rods, maybe i just expect to much after fishing with g-loomis for years they just dont have the quality that i expected to get. Any one else feel like this? :-?
I have seen a lot of buyer's remorse in Carrot Stix owners. There are a lot of lightly used ones out there for sale.

Whats wrong with it?
i love both of mine. i use them for big spooks, frogs, skinny dippers etc. so far (knock on wood) they are doing the job.
I too think they are garbage! My bro had two mess up on him! One with the reel seat and the other the guides! For that price you could have a MUCH better rod imo!

x2. I have a Carrot Stix and it has performed great for me.
problems? Posts like this are kind of......helpless. why do you think these rods suck? What problems are you having? need the info lol

The same thing I was thinking...you can't just say they're junk and leave it at that, you gotta give those of us that like them a reason. I'm assuming that the G-Loomis statement is referring to either IMX or GLX because from what I've heard, under the IMX isn't impressive. If it is directed toward IMX and GLX rods, then what do you expect for $100-300 less. I'll admit I'm not sold on the sensitivity of my 6'9'' MH LTX but I really haven't had a chance to get it out and actually fish it around something other than snot grass, have had some bluegill hits which were felt very well but haven't really given it a try.
The LTX is the best rod available at $150.
I too am curious. I have never heard of a reel seat problem, and of all the "cheap looking" guide posts, have not heard of any specific problems. I have a parabolic and a mhf, and to date, no issues. As for there being a lot of them lightly used ones out there for sale, I'm looking for 2 more mhf in good used condition if anyone knows where I can find them.
Hmmm, no reply back from this guy who started this thread....must be a troll.
6 Carrot Stix to my collection & I'm very happy w/ them, no problems so far.

Wouldn't go that far, at all. There are a few rods out there at this price point, WITH fuji guides.
Finally people are realizing they aren't as "GREAT" as everyone once thought. Glad I'm not the only crazy one here.
The rods aren't that bad. For the price you're getting a good rod. I'll admit I don't use mine much, but that's only because I have a few other choices.
if you don't like them then fine , go get some thing else . i have a carrot stix and I LOVE IT !!! i plan on buying 2-3 more . i was at a tackle store the other night and was comparing other rods ( they stock G.LOOMIS, ST.CROIX, POWELL, DAIWA STEEZ , LUCKY CRAFT, AND KISTLER) and i thought the CARROT STIX felt better in my hand ,i liked the stiffness and tip action better than all the other rods . i guess it all comes down to either you love them or you don't .. but i must say -- these rods don't suck . if they did or might , thousands of people wouldn't be swearing by them ........ 8-)
If I ever got lost in the wilderness, a carrot stick is the one rod I'd have to have along.
Stick it in the ground and search planes could see it from miles around.
love 'em

X2
They're great rods at their price point. Like somebody else said, of course they're not going to compare to IMXs or GLXs, they cost significantly less. I love the two carrot stix that I have, and while I don't plan on buying any more, if the opportunity to pick up another one came up I wouldn't hesitate.
I've had and used a couple of them and personally don't think they're very well made and definitely not the best rod for the money. The component quality doesn't match the competition in the $150 price range, nor does the finish on the blanks. I'm sure some of you guys will experience "peeling carrots" after some extended use. The nice thing about it is that we all have choices out there and what works for some doesn't work for others. I like the Powells and Crucials in that price range WAY better than the CS...
I have 3 that get used heavily and regularly for the past 2 years and have had zero issues. One of them I use braid exclusively and the guides are still perfect condtion with no signs of wear.
I have two carrot stix both 7'3"MH LTX's and they are an alright rod. I like the guides, unlike many people who want fujis, I think fujis are overrated and have has tons of problems with the inserts popping out. As far as carrot stix sucking, they are an ok rod. I broke one of mine first trip out and had to work a little harder than I would like to replace the rod. Retailer I bought it from was out and said they wouldn't get another shipment in for a while so I contacted carrot stix directly and got told tough luck ship it to us and we will replace it. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it hadn't broken as quick as it did (I didn't feel that the rod that hadn't proven anything to me should cost me more money when it broke so quickly). As far as sensativity they are ok, but there are much better rods.
If I were to do it all over again I think I would spend a hair more and get a couple of St. Croix avids or a little less and get a couple of Daiwa Light and Toughs (Best rod below $150 IMO). It's all personal preference, so everyone is going to have a different opinion. There are much worse rods in the 150 range and there are better rods IMO.
Shouldn't the title be: carrot stix sux ?

lol
i hate all 5 of mine. Ill probably will hate the 2 more that im gonna buy. lol. Its like Ford and Chevy. Some people like them and othere dont. Im sure there are some guys out there who thinks Jessica Alba is hotter than Megan Fox. If you dont like them dont use them. Im sure there are enough people that like them to keep E21 in buisness.
lol im not a troll
I love my Carrot Stix. The sensitivity is out of this world.
I bought a carrot sick gold and I think my avids have more sensitivty BUT i would rather fish my carrot stick because it feels so good in my hand.

: *rolls eyes* : lame, but i vote for megan fox hahah!!!
the funny thing is...for every one person that bashes carrots, their are 10 that love them! as far as durability, i bang my stix around from vehicle to boat to cabin to the house with zero issues! the guides dont say fuji(nike, bmw, gucci, insert overpriced name here) but for some reason i have never heard anything bad, just that they are cheesy. doesnt st.croix have fuji? oh yeah the ones that fall out. does st.croix suck? i stepped on one of my stix and had it replaced with a phone call in 3 days! opinions are like... i'm not sayin, i'm just sayin... viva la stix!
I'm probably cheating you guys out of two more pages,
but I have to read this stuff and I've had enough.
Good night Irene.
