Just wondering. My head spins when I look at what is available. Just wondered what everyone else thought.
I am torn between the MG, Zillion, and Premier.
Well I voted for the MG, mostly because it's on clearance.
The Sol is up there but no Fuego? Where's the Steez? I voted for the STX, only cause I like em. Best casting reel as far as fit in my hand that I have come across so far. Would love to give a Steez a wack though, just cant rationalize that kind of coin
theres your Fuego
If money is truley no issue, my vote goes for the Shimano Calais.
the Zillion. it just feels so nice.
Out of those listed it would be the Tour Edition or Chronarch.
Shimano Aldebaran or Daiwa Steez
STEEZ
da FLOOGER all the way 8-)
QuoteShimano Aldebaran or Daiwa Steez
Took the words out of my mouth. I'm really torn on this one....even though I generally lean more towards Daiwa than Shimano; I'm going to say Mg50/Aldebaran on this one. I like the palmability of my TD-Z's better than my steez reels, and a new centrifugal-braked version of the TD-Z is a great idea. Kudos to Shimano!
I already have the magnetic version of the Aldebaran...
I've fished with a couple higher end Daiwas, and a Skeet Reese Revo. I really love the Zillion I fished with, even if the handle was on the wrong side. If I had enough money to get one, that would probably be my first choice. That or a Shimano Curado, since I've never tried Shimano and would like to.
I'm sold on the Zillion. A few months ago I owned no Daiwas. Now I own two Fuegos and three Zillions. The Zillion is my favorite reel. I'm lucky in that some of my friends are Shimano enthusiasts, others appeal to other brands. And I also get to fish with a tackle dealer that always has somthing new to try. So I've had the opportunity to try several different rods and reels. So far, nothing has impressed me like the Zillion. The combination of weight, feel, smoothness, quality of construction and performance with a wide range ot lure weights is hard to beat.
Steez.
I would say shimano calais or Quantum tour if you dont wanna spend 400
Yeah if i could have any reel no matter the cost it'd probably be a steez.
QuoteShimano Aldebaran or Daiwa Steez
not really keen on bandwagons but, i'm gonna get on the one that says these two.
Other
STX or if u can find a rare morrum and u say no money issue get that 700 dollar one or a steez wow nice
QuoteSTEEZ
I've got 5 and I sleep with them every night. I've used Stellas (great reels) and every Abu and Quantum imaginable. Nothing even comes close, IMO, to STEEZ in quality. Only complaint would be the physical size but I have small hands so I love them. A buddy I fish with, can't hold them...complains they are too small.
50mg or the Sol. Best 2 reels u have listed
The Pflueger Patriarch is doing just about everything I need in a reel although I could be convinced to test drive a Calais.
QuoteSTEEZ
oh yea
Round: Shimano Conquest (DC or non)
Low Pro: Shimano Aldebaran, Chronarch 50/51Mg or Daiwa Steez
..........with money no issue of course.
Zeebaas... if money were no object. $815 for a reel is slightly beyond my budget.

Have you fished an Aldebaran yet? How can you be so certain about it if you have not even fished it? Just because it looks awesome doesn't mean it is the next great thing.
Remember how excited everyone was before the Curado 200E came out. And then, people started selling them.
I am not gonna pass comment on the Aldebaran until I get my hands on one.
Money no object ? ----> Steez
It 's got all the goodies you wanted to see in a BC, size and weight of a Pixy, Type R+ rotor ( found only in the Type R+ TDZ at the beginning ), deep spool of the TDZ 103.

No, I have not, which means I can't be certain about it. But, if it's anything like all the other Shimano reels I own, it's a safe bet that it will be impressive, IMHO of course.
I happen to like my Curado 201E7, as well.
In all honesty, if money were no object, I'd probably be buying more than one on the list.
Heck if money wasn't an issue I wouldn't be worried about which reel to buy. I would be worried about which boat to buy and what color Toyota Tundra to get to pull it with!! ;D
A friend of mine had a top of the line shimano(digital) he sold it and bought three patriachs with money left over and is more than pleased with them.
Patriarchs are starting to catch on.
They are a lot nicer reel than they are given credit for.
I have a couple of them and I am planning on getting more.
The two reels I would try if I could just throw away money would be the high end Ardent....
And the Steez.
If money were no object I would probably get another Zillion because it does everything I ask, at a not to crazy price. On the other hand, I love my Calais and Core. I probably should have chosen other on your list.
Shimano Calcutta CT100B
Catt, I played with a Calcutta CTE100GT yesterday while picking up some goodies - I gotta have that reel. Now, if I could just get a loan for it........
