a blue Loomis NRX 893C JWR?
It needs to be a Shimano.
Thanks,
Keep it light. You will love this combination: CH50MG
Patriarch XT, Blue Quantum, Zillion PE Line Special. Oops, not Shimanos. Sorry.
Buy the reel you like the most and have it custom painted. Problem solved.
I think a Calais would look good on it.
The new Metanium!!!
Jeff
Core 100 or Conquest 100.
One of these......
If you do not like DC Reels, then one of these would be sweet....
As stated above, I think any of the following would look great:
Conquest (one of my favourites)
Antares
Metanium
Good luck and post pics when you're done!
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm not very fond of round reels for conventional bass fishing. I'm not very fond of reels smaller than 200 size either, but I may have to rethink that.
I got plenty of time to think though; since I won't have cash to buy another reel till mid-May-ish. Till then, one of my 3 Curados will have to hold the fort,
The new white Chronach would probably look pretty sharp.
How about a silver Curado d?
Are looks that important? Get what you're comfortable with and can afford. The fish don't care if your color scheme of the rod and reel match.
Daiwa Zillion Coastal with a Hawg Handle and blue hardware! Would look great with that particular rod's color scheme! (oops not a Shimano, but would look cool)

Or you can get this for it:
^^^^^ that metanium is very nice. Why not wait till July and see if anything new and interesting comes out
Rod is here! Yay! I was surprised how the blue is a very toned down blue-green. I was expecting a bright shade like I saw in the pics on the web.
I was wondering if the 50 and 100 size reels are significantly smaller (in size, not line capacity) than the 200 size ones. If someone could post some info (a side-by-side comparison pic would be awesome) about two different sizes in the same model and series, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks once again guys.

IIm impartial to the Zillion. I onlyi have one. If i could get them for the price i pay for Lews TP or even what i just spent on my Team Lews, then i would.
The coastal zillion would look great .
The TD Z would look good too!!
Glad you like your new rod. Ill be glad when im finacially able to make the switch to Loomis NrX or GLX.

You still talking just L P's correct......
I went with a Chronarch 50e on mine and a curado 200e7 on my green 893. Probably my two favorite set ups.
Go to the Shimano website, they have a feature there to compare the reels side by side. On another note, I once had a Curado E on a Mojo rod, purple and green, nicknamed the Joker.

Just leave the handle alone. The Metanium has a HUGE handle. Then add tall the other stuff. Or Hawg Tech handle to match the cork!!

If nobody has done it sooner, I will take you a side x side photo of the older 50mg vs. the new 50e vs the 200e

Here is a picture of a conquest 50 & a conquest 100 side by side.
Thanks Dwight. Much appreciated. Not sure if it's the angle, but the 50 appears to be of the same size as the 100?
Jeff, yes, if you could do that, it'd be very helpful. You don't need to take pics, just lmk if the 50 size feels much smaller in your hands than the 200 size. Like I said before, I never owned/ fished a 50/100 size reel.
Maico, yes, still talking about LP reels.
Retiredbossn, I knew you can do that; but I couldn't find the actual physical sizes of the reels. If could show me how to, that'd be great.
Thanks Teal, Junkie and Norcal'.
Deep, the 50 is a ton smaller than a 200. They aren't much taller than a lo pro, in fact, might be smaller than many.
It will not be until Monday when I get home. Remind me and I will do a 50mg/50e/200e/300e photo. Good references for everyone
Jeff
I am headed out out fishing in the A.M. for a little so I figured I could take some comparison pics for you guys.
Top to Bottom: Metanium (2013), Curado 200E, Curado 50E, Chronarch 50MG
You can figure it out the farthest reels are a Chronach D and and Older B series pic below
Can you spot the imposter?
Daiwas and 1 Revo are always along for the ride
Chronarchs old B and the last great one until the new JDM Metanium comes State Side of course, and a Metanium MG
Side by side 200e and 50e
SouthFla, that's so nice of you. Thanks a bunch. I'm going to save the pics if you don't mind, and start looking for deals. Thanks once again!

No problem man! Another reel that I like is the Quantum Smoke, the imposter! Its not as refined, but man it cast the farthest and is relatively light and palms well.
Aldebaran MG, or a Chronarch MG......maybe a Scorpion metanium??
Here's a good side by side comparison with 100 and 50 size.
As promised deep......Little late, and I see you already have some pics, but just remembered it...
CH50 and Core 50
Core 50 and curado 200e (hawg tech handle not stock)
200e and Metanium XG(2013)
Metanium XG(2013) and 300e
200e and 300e
Jeff
The great forgotten Chronarch D! My personal favorite jig reel of all time.
Core 50
X2, They can hydro dip anything these days or even airbrush it without messing with performance at all. Good luck fellah. On 4/12/2013 at 7:18 PM, new2BC4bass said:Buy the reel you like the most and have it custom painted. Problem solved.
Take your pick, Lew's Team if you like red accents or Team Gold if you prefer Gold accents.
Buy the reel you like, put it on the rod and go fishing. Who gives a rip what color it is? This ain't no fashion show.
