Does anyone else like having there reel buzz when casting. I don't know why but for some reason i like to put a sound to the action i doing. Anyone else like to have this when casting?
Here's the sound i am talking about listen at around 1:35 when he cast
That isn't the reel, its the bait. :
Ummm..I gonna have to disagree with ya there. 1.) if it was the bait you wouldn't be able to hear the sound for as long as you do in the video. 2.) I own red eye shads and have never heard them make that kind of a sound...ever. 3.) i have reels that sound exactly that way no matter what i throw. And yes i do maintain and lube them.
What I heard and saw at that point was a chrome blue trap ripping, and making a trap noise at that point, but the video skipped a lot so, who knows...
Anyway, it depends on what bearings and what braking system as to what "sound" your reel makes.
Ahh i see....yea its right after the underwater scene. when he actually cast. So back to the original question..I take it you are not a fan of noise when casting?
Only if its a noise that says something is broke.
The only advice we can give you without hearing it is to give it a nice cleaning. If it still continues, maybe its time to send it in to get professionally done, it the reel is even worth it :-/

One other thing, are you using braid? That could the noise you are hearing, depending on what type of braid you are using.
I couldn't make out anything definitive from that video either. Bearing noise is usually described as whine rather than a buzz, but really all anyone can recommend sight unseen is a proper cleaning and lube.
At 1:35 I hear a whirr from the cast. I don't hear the bait rattling like a spray can, or a baby rattle.

OK a whirr it is then. ;D ...and I'm not trying to get rid of the sound, i actually like it. I definitely know its not from cleaning it or lube cause i do that at least once a year and mine still whirr( ;D) they have since i bought them. I've noticed it mostly on KVD's stuff but also some others while watching fishing shows.
OK, now that Youtube isn't locking and skipping, I hear it. Typical sound from a Quantum. Doesn't mean anything. Why would it matter?

From a performance stand point it doesn't matter. I was just asking if i am the only one who actually likes to hear that sound when i cast. If ya don't, ya don't ,if you do, you do, its a simple question really
QuoteAnyone else like to have this when casting?
I guess I'm a little confused by this question...I would prefer no sound, but if it doesnt have to do with anything internal I am fine with it.

You just answered the question from your point of view. I prefer to hear the sound. That's all i was asking.

Quantums are noisy on the cast....Is your reel a Quantum? I have nothing against them but I have two and a buddy has a few blue Tours, all noisy on the cast.
I wonder what KVD sounds like when he farts? :

To me ithe reel sounds perfectly normal, actually I can fish at night and know pretty much how far the bait has traveled and when to thumb just by the sound of the spool spinning.
