How many reel/rods do you own? 2025

I have had a bad year or two with the bait monkey. I have purchased quite a bit so far to replace my old stuff that I have had for 10-15 years and I just want to show my wife that I am not the only one.

If anyone wants to list what they have and what they use it for, maybe we could all gain some insight.

For me I have 4 baitcasters and 3 spinning reels.

2 Shimano Curado 201 BSF (05 model) both on 7' M BPS Johnny Morris rods=Crankbaits

Shimano Calais 201 on a 6' 6''G. Loomis GLX MBR783C= Everything

Shimano Calcutta 251 on a 6' 8''G. Loomis BCR803= Plastic

Shimano Sustain 2500 on a 6' 3'' G. Loomis Bronzeback SMR753S-SP= Crankbaits and plastic

Quantum 20 EnergyPT on a 6'6'' St. Croix M Avid= Smaller Light weight stuff

Quantum ? combo reel on a 6' St. Croix Truimph ML= wifes poll (NOT USED)

Thanks for any info and some one tell me how to make the bait monkey stop.

I have a lot of rods but many of them were inherited from my Grandpa when he passed away this summer.

I have 12 rods and 13 reels

5 curado bsf, 3 chronarch 50mg's, 1 Calais 200, 3 Syemetries, 1 stradic

3 imx, 2 GL3, 1 st. croix tournament, 4 gl2, 1 TD L&T, 1 Shimano Clarus

I only had 6 of the combos before he passed.

I am an amature rod builder, if I told you how many rods & blanks I have you wouldn't believe it. So, with Raul, I will take the fifth. Rods catch fish. That's all I have to say about that.

I bet now that you have the pair of Loomis', you are wanting to upgrade your bionic blades . Not that there is anything wrong with bionic blades, but you have a pair of Ferrari's in your stable now 8-). Looks like you have a nice arsenal of reels.

I have rods by AllStar, Browning, Castaway, Pinnacle, Daiwa, and Berkley.

Reels are Browning Midas 6's (2), one Curado, 2 Castaics, one Quantum, a couple of Garcias. All the spinning reels are Shimano, the one exception being 2 Garcias. I ain't a slave to brands.

I have close to 65 rods and reels, but less then half are for bass. I have rods for Musky, Trout, Walleye, Strippers, Panfish, Carp, Steelhead, along with many fly rods, saltwater rods, and ice fishing rods. I love to fish for any species. I keep a spreadsheet that lists all my outfits with many key dates such as when I respooled the reel, any service to the reel, etc. I don't even want to get into the number of tackle boxes I have. So let your wife know that you are pretty tame when it comes to being infected by the baitmonkey.

Having say 10 rods isnt bad.. you gotta figure all the different types of fishing you do.. and the years it took to accumulate them all. Fishing can be (and is for most of us here) a very expensive sport.

6'6" M Ugly Stik Lite w/ Shimano Symtre Zero (Topwater, weightless t-rig, live bait/snook fishing)

7'0 M Shimano Compre w/ Pfleuger President 6735 (stickbaits, jerkbaits, worming, topwater, serious peacock fishing + snook/tarpon)

I finnaly got some 30lb Suffix braid today and I am very please with it. Caught 6 bass up to 3 lbs and lost 1. That 1 being due to improperly set drag b/c I never used braid before and I got my settings down now. No more lost fish in lilypads yay ;D

I just gave four rods and five reels to my middle stepson, my two grand-daughters, and daughter-in-law. So I now have a few empty spaces in my revolving 15 place rod rack but then I have two rods on the wall also so I will plead enough for now.

i only have one combo that i use....it is an Alpster custom 6' MH on a shikari blank with a Revo S (used to be a C3 untill a few days ago)...i use it for jigs, topwaters, cranks, t-rigs, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, weightless plastics, shakey heads, etc etc etc. i alos use it for fishing for whites, hybrids, and will be using it for smallies in NY this coming year

i have a couple other berkley rods, a couple C3's, and a couple cardinal spinning reels...but since i got that rod from ronnie and the revo, they only catch dust bunnies now..i cant bring myself to use the lower end stuff when i have the bitchin' custom rod/revo combo at my side
