Thats a relative question that only you can decide.

Im saying compared to 150$ rods just wondering the differences mechanically if there is any...
I guess it's really, is it worth it to you. I have several Loomis rods and to me they are the best. I have none higher than the IMX. I can't comment on the GLX or the NRX. However, my favorite are the GL3's. I prefer them over my IMX's. I have one spinnerbait model that is really nice. That's my 2 cents.

I have a couple of Loomis rods that I bought in the Flea Market. To me they are no better than any of my other rods in the $150 price range. I think the only thing that Loomis has going for it is the unlimited warranty, and I've heard that even that is going away.
Yes
Take a look at this. Helps explain the cost basis.

Worth is highly dependent on your income and your ability to spend that 300 dollars on a rod. If you're loaded, 300 bucks may be a trivial thing. For somebody on a fixed income, 300 bucks could be the rod of their dreams. That being said, Loomis makes some fine rods. Are there other companies that make a product that is just as good? Sure.
Generally speaking, there are some differences between the 150 dollar rods and the higher end rods. Better quality components, etc etc.
They are not going to help you catch fish that aren't there to be caught.
I have 7 Loomis rods and 2 of those are nothing special IMHO. I have only paid retail for one of the 7 and that is my MBR844 IMX. I paid $275.00 and I think it's worth every penny. I like how Loomis rods look and feel and my next rod will be another Loomis.

Im not rich nor poor but i could save for it.
Loomis competes favorably in the $300+ market. Their offerings in the IMX, GLX, and NRX lines are very good. Casting distance, components, and sensitivity are all there. I don't feel like their rod lines below the IMX are really in play when I consider a sub $300 retail rod.
Look for Rep Samples at reputable dealers and you can usually save 20-35% off the price of a new rod. They will have the full warranty and wild card as well.
I doubt you will find many out there that can give an honest personal evaluation of the new IMX rod against other $300 rod lines. The reel seat is now the ACS style so that may be something to consider as well.
I have a NRX that I don't think is half as good as a similar custom built rod I have.

I might just stick with My Powell Max's haha!
Cheap and reliable.
The IMX line is where they start to kind of catch up, so to speak. The GL3, Mossyback, Bronzeback, and especially the GL2 didn't quite live up to the price for me. I wouldn't buy another GL2 for even $100. I think a lot of the cost is the lifetime warranty and the name on the rod. That said, the GLX and NRX are truly things to behold. The IMX is a great all around rod, though there's been recent rods on the market for half the price that have had similar sensitivity. Sensitivity isn't everything though. Loomis still has some mag bass tapers and such that are the standard by which other rods are judged. Whether or not they're worth $300 is up to the buyer. I personally wouldn't pay that much for one, but if a rep sample came out at $225ish; I'd try one. I really wouldn't pay retail for any of their rods, even though the NRX is probably worth it if you value sensitivity, but there's enough sales and rep samples available it makes no sense to me to pay full price.

From what I've read, they are doing the Xpeditor Service. So it goes like this - Lifetime Warranty on defects or $100 to replace the rod and they will still honor the Wild Cards that are registered but that is going away. The Xpeditor service can be used on discontinued rods too, which is good news for all the Older G Loomis owners.

I've slowly converted all of my casting rods over to Loomis (IMX & GLX). I feel they're worth the money.
Definitely my favorite rods and worth every penny to me now. 10 years ago I would have laughed my a** off at anyone spending that type of money on bass rods though.
Loomis rods are fantastic, I have a friend who fished them exclusively, they were really nice and sensitive, I personally would not pay 300+ for them, as I feel the rods in the 200.00 range are so very close in performance. that being said I have not used the newest high end ones, I imagine they are even better then the models I used...
Mitch
They are amazing rods, I have several and plan on getting at least two to three more. But with that said, I do not pay full retail for them. If you shop around and are patient, you can find then for less. Ebay is a great place to keep your eye on and this forums flea market. Also, they seem to keep most of their value if you should decide to ever sell.
Gloomis rods are quality rods but they trade heavily off the Loomis name. Value is relative as has been discussed. The point of diminishing returns on a factory rod is about $250. Anyone spending that or more (and sometimes less) would get more value from talking with a reputable custom builder. We can get just as good of components, custom fit them to the angler and application and maximize performance and comfort. It comes down to the individual attention to detail a builder can put into each rod that just isn't feasible in a mass production atmosphere.
That's a interesting vlog... Appreciate that sir!
Loomis rods have been with me since 96
I love them... Maybe not for everyone though
I have only ever bought bass rods.... But I have been
All over the Caribbean, Florida, Gulf and coasts of Texas and
I have caught lots and lots of varied species
These rods maybe say or lead toward the LMB
But are so strong and so very capable
They are worth the money to me... I had to prove it
To myself first though! Also hunt around... You will find
Them used like new for even better prices!
Loomis and Shimano, my go to fishing equipment !
To me yes, they are worth it.
This is very subjective question. I have a sizable G Loomis collection and I really enjoying fishing with every one. So if you were to ask me if they are worth the money, I would say "yes." Now that the Xpeditor Service is back for all their rods, their value to me has increased.
Long story short, their value is in the eye (and means) of the user.
Sorry guys but I have to chuckle a bit. Yeah, I agree $300 is alot for a production bass rod but it's interesting to me how different our views can be based upon experience.
Go buy some high end fly rods.
Or saltwater gear.
Your Loomis rod and JDM reel will feel pretty inexpensive and look like a great deal. It's all relative.

How true is this! I have some fly rods that cost the same as two or three G Loomis Rods. Good thing I don't have an obsession with offshore fishing, because those reels they use are INSANELY expensive!
I think G.Loomis offers superior rods starting with the IMX series.

Don't even get me started. Lol
So worth it though.
I have a bunch of IMX and GLX rods (both older editions)....and LOVE them.
If you are patient, and keep your eyes open, you can find them at great prices (very lightly used) on the secondary market.
The most I have paid for any IMX or GLX is $150....which includes my all-time favorite rod, the BCR803 GLX. I've never had any problems with them.
I have a few NRX rods as well, and they are GREAT rods, but for $300 (they can be found at this price point), I'll go with two older GLXs if given the choice.
I fished in another dimension for decades. I thought with me being frugal using fishing rods from the 70's with the chrome eyes and the glass material what ever I was doing ok.
Then someone here woke me up and said to upgrade. My present rods were under $10.
I upgraded to the LEWS rods not too expensive but what a jump in workmanship and quality. I know they might not be a $300 rod but the improvement of what I was using in the past was a big step forward.
My point is buy what you can afford. I'm going to upgrade again maybe next winter.
