Falcon Bucoo 2025

fishing user avatarLgMouthGambler reply :

Ive seen some people talk about them. Im sitting here bored going through TW and BPS website, deciding which rod to buy to mount the Chronarch 50E on. I was thinking of a Abu Veritas just because they are such good rods. The one thing that caught my eye with the Falcon was the price. While looking at this rod I noticed it has the contoured grip area under the reel seat that I love about my Vendetta. Funny thing about the contoured grip is that my Curado 50E is the only reel that feels good with it, and I think its because the reel is soo small and it allows the feel to be just right for me. So if anybody can tell me about these rods and any experience they have, I would like to hear them.

I have fished many years with falcon.I have 2 of the bucoos, and like them alot. The falcon will be a better quality rod for the money. But you know what works for you&your curado. Ive learned over the years-when you find something that fits you and your style, run with it. good luck fishin..................................

fishing user avatarBASSclary reply :

They're great rods for the money, the only thing I disliked about them was a slightly slower than average taper, and that the guides stick up off of the blank, but that's nit picking. Also, they're a bit lighter than the avg rod, so coming from a stiff veritas it may be a little different. So probably go a power up.

fishing user avatarzachb34 reply :

they are a bit lighter and softer tipped than the veritas but I love mine

fishing user avatarfishking247 reply :

bucoo has a slow taper. not ideal for plastics in my opinion.

fishing user avatarBrianinMD reply :

I have a Curado 50E on a Falcon Bucco 7ft MH/F, absolutely love that setup

fishing user avatarDiggy reply :

You can probably just go to walmart and mess with one first hand. My friend has one, nice rod. Really light and balances well with 7 and 8oz reels. I wish it had a texas rig hook keeper. Made in the usa.

fishing user avatarcraww reply :

Really comfortable rod. Sensitive, light and well balanced. I have a 7' H thats perfect for 3/8 buzzbaits. Love seeing that American Flag printed on the blank!

fishing user avatarLgMouthGambler reply :

Ok, all good info. May need to go up a power setting due to its a little softer than usual. They are at Walmart, that I did not know. Pretty good feedback, Im gonna have to feel this thing for myself.

fishing user avatarBigMoneyGrip reply :

I don't have the Bucoo but I do have the Cara Micro with a 50E mounted on it. You can feel the bass looking at your jig.

fishing user avatarWIBassMan reply :

The bucoo is a very light rod. I don't have one but have fished my brother in law's that he uses a Chronarch on. As others have mentioned, it is softer tipped than a veritas but also lighter too. I also really like the foam grip on the handle better than on a Veritas. I really like the combination and it is a good rod for the money. I believe it is a little more expensive than a veritas since Walmart sells them for $130 but you can get them online for much cheaper. Only problem my brother in law encountered was that his tip snapped trying to cast a 1/2 oz lure. Not sure if they are more fragile than usual. Great thing is that Walmart had a great return policy and he was able to exchange his rod.

fishing user avatar38 Super Fan reply :

No experience with the Bucoos, but I love the Falcon Caras. Great balance, sensativity, overall quality, and a US company that stands behind their products.

Yeah, they only have the micros at mine, so it may be different. I would look at the 7' H, its a really good all-arounder, but im not sure if they are the same models in micro, or they carry different models.

fishing user avatarLgMouthGambler reply :

I dont want micro guides, I hear too many problems. But I am going to check my Walmart for the rods and prices. Thanks.

fishing user avatarbarroncooper reply :

I have a curado 50 on a 7' mh bucoo that I use for finesse applications and I absolutely love that combo. I have several caras as well and to be honest, I cant really notice the difference. the 7'mh has more than enough backbone for finesse and some small texas rigs. for larger plastic, the 7' heavy is better suited. I've also got the bucoo version of the amistad as well as the cara amistad and again, I'd bet a paycheck that many couldn't feel the difference except for the eva vs cork grips. It's a great rod and like others have said, they're a little softer than some rods of the same power.

fishing user avatarLgMouthGambler reply :

I love the foam grips. I cant use cork for anything due to its a weird feeling on my skin. Im trying to sell some rods that I have sitting around on the Market.

yup the EVA foam grips are tough to beat. very comfortable and you get a good grip on them when they are wet

fishing user avatar21farms reply :

i have the bucoo micro 6'6" MH/F. it weighs 3.5 ounces, making it my lightest rod. i really like the fat foam handles...they really fill up my hand nicely. i've had this rod for a few months now and still haven't used it so i can't say how it fishes yet but i think the MH/F "herm"-action (as they call it) will be very versatile and i plan to pair it with my curado 50e for target spinnerbaiting. i have a veritas 7' M/MF (4.1 ounces) that i love too but the stupid locking ring and the "hook" in the trigger bother me.

fishing user avatarLgMouthGambler reply :

My Bass Pro doesnt carry Falcon rods. Gonna have to try Wallyworld.

I have a 7' MH/Med-Fast with a Lews TP mounted on it. I really like the rod. Very sensitive and light, great feeling in the hand with the big foam grips. I throw pretty much everything with it, up to 3/4 oz but it excels between 1/4 and 1/2. I've been bringing in a few 4-5 lb LM lately with it and it handles like a charm.

fishing user avatar#pat_walker_fishing reply :

If anyones interested...i have 5 boocuus for sale right now.....make me and offer!? or trade some shimano

fishing user avatarBASSHUNTER1961 reply :

Have purchased a Bucoo yet? I picked up a 6'6"M yesterday and fished it all day today, and it's a fabulous rod. I threw 3/8 spinnerbaits, 1/2 oz Rat-L-Traps and a Zara Spook Jr and it exceeded all my expectations.

fishing user avatarsarcazmo reply :

Anyone have experience with this and a veritas? I know they're new but anyone also have experience with these rods and 13's *** omens? I love my *** rod but these look pretty comparable and I like trying new things.

I have this and a few veritas this and the veritas are pretty close in sensitivity the falcon has a more comfortable handle and has a little bit softer tip I also think these may be a tad bit lighter too
