What do you think is the best baitcaster value for the money? This will mean different things to different people. To some the $500 and its features will be it. For some a $20 throw it away in a year reel is the ticket
What's your opinion?
Revo S, best under $100 reel and better then some reels over that price.
It depends. Value for money means different things to different people, depending upon a number of factors. There is no ONE answer to your question.
any pflueger reel
The answer to your question is the Quantum Jeff Gordon Edition. Visually stunning with a 2.8 Bass Pro Shops customer rating to boot. Plus, a perpetual sale price of half-off... This debate's over.

Just don't win a tournament with the thing or the fans will throw beer cans at you. ;D
seriously, It's hard to argue with the RevoS. I'll also throw the Daiwa 150 Advantage series in there as well.
What debate, the guy is asking for experience and some reccomendations, glad you are here to straighten us all out though GEEZZ!!!! Hey some guy on the Flea Market threads has a few BasPro Por Qualifiers on sale for 55 bucks you can't go wrong with those. i bought one from Cart 7 , my first baitcaster and it is a good reel. I also have a Cabelas xz I got for 69 dollars. sweet reel. If Graphite body is not an issue the Pflueger Eschelon is a great reel also

Actually Muddy, he's selling the PQ10's, that's the newer version of the reel you've got. I've got 2 of the PQ1000's like you've got and a couple of the PQ10's. I like both of them. Unless you're doing heavy duty tournament fishing just about any of the BPS reels from the Extreme line on up are pretty good reels for the money.
Coming from a Shimano guy ...... Team Daiwa Advantage :

I assume this is directed at me. I was kidding, which is risky in print, I know, but I think Cart recognized it for what it was. Also, nowhere in his original post does ffi ask for recommendations so I concluded that even on the off-chance he happened to believe my post he still wasn't going to buy the reel.
revo s....now this debate is over
Long Mike,
Do you have some kind of copier that you ran those answers off on ;D?
As Ever,
Skillet
My first baitcaster i bought was the Pflueger Element for 64 bucks at Dicks and I love the thing. 7 ball bearing and smooth casting. I just got a president but dont have a rod for it yet. Id go with the Pflueger
i have an abu garcia 5501C3(about 70 bucks..cant remember)...love that thing...and just bought a pinnacle solene(50 bucks) recently....and so far it is working great
Abu Garcia 5601 C3 or C4
Abu Garcia 4601
I have had great success and no problems with the BPS Extreme line of reels, and also the Daiwa Procaster 100HL, just had my new Quantum Accurist out yesterday and love it, time will tell if it last's though.
Shimano Cardiff CDF100B Gear Ratio: 5.8:1 Weight: 8.1 oz Bearings: 4+1 $99.99
Sorry, I thought I was pretty clear. I was looking for specific models and their prices. Was just courious on what people thought was a good value. The question is to you and what is your opinion. I already stated in the post that it would be different for different people. Some it is high end some middle, some low.
Shimano Citica at just under $120.
Revo S...great little reel.
Daiwa Procaster
Skillet, I have a copier called "Copy and Paste" The questions were so generic that I figured a generic response was called for. You have to admit that there are no "correct" answers to the questions.
I've got half a dozen Shimano Citicas ($120) and love 'em but I just fondled a Team Diawa Advantage SuperTune ($140) and it may be my next reel(s?).
Shimano citica or the bps extreme($70) is also a great reel
shimano all day everyday ;D
