Just wondering if they are trust worthy, their prices are really cheap. Messaged them a good 2 months ago but no answer. If so how long did the shipping take? Thanks.
You'll get the same answers here as with the other post for orders from Japan Tackle. It's not the vendor. It is US Customs that might delay your package.
If the customs agents feel like holding the package then it doesn't matter if you buy the reel from Jesus Christ himself.
Yes they are trustworthy. I've ordered a few reels from them, took about a week.
Yeah Japan Lure Shop, I first made a mistake and said Japan Tackle, but I'm asking about Japan Lure Shop. And really at this point just wanna make sure there credible?
They're great, Digitaka is another place that is good to buy from. Their prices are a little higher but they do free shipping. Also, because of Japan's time zone, you would be best ordering soon. I think it's mid afternoon there.
Order away
I ordered a Shimano BFS XG Limited from JLS on Saturady and it arrived yesterday before noon.
Ordered a reel a couple months ago from JLS. After I placed the order but before it shipped, I tried to contact them and change to a different size reel and pay the difference, but I learned that wasnt going to happen haha. Took about 3 emails and 2 days to respond, and their response was all jumbled up and illiterate, like theyd just used google translate or something. Emailed them again saying I couldnt understand them and their next response was just as bad. So just pray thay nothing goes wrong with your order haha. Not saying theres a higher chance with them but I have no idea how you would be able to sort it out.
ordered several times from them. products came in 2 or 3 days every time.
Not yet but I got my eye on the Daiwa Morethan from them.

Yeah but that isn't really their fault... There wouldn't have been a problem if you would have ordered the right thing haha
I have order once from both Japan Lure Shop and Digitaka. Both went well. Both don't communicate well or timely. I had a delivery address issue that I was concerned about. They got all the emails and everything went fine. It's the not getting timely responses that causes a little anxiety.
I will definitely order again. Both are very good vendors and shipping is fast.
They are the first of my go to shops for jdm. They are set p so that you can pay directly and save time instead of waiting for an emailed invoice like some other shops. Also if you are a repeat customer they will hook you up from time to time with some free knick knacks like a pack of jigheads etc...

John, you're hopelessly addicted. No need to worry though, because that's a good thing.

Well it shouldnt be that hard to correct. Dont know how it iustifies a company not responding to any emails.
Both JLS and Digitaka are not very good with communication. While I haven't personally bought from JLS I have from Digitaka and would buy from both. I do think that when you factor in shipping Digitaka is usually cheaper. Like others have said shipping is fast, its customs you have to worry about.
Just FYI, not sure when you emailed them but they have a disclaimer on their site on the front page that says they just found out that they weren't able to receive messages made through the "Contact Us" link and to contact them at their info@japan-lureshop.com email.
jls is awesome , usually you'll have your stuff faster from them than if you were to order it from usa
They are great and ship fast. Like others said the only problem you may possibly encounter is US Customs.
I've ordered from them 5-6 times and have never had an issue. My order is usually here in about 3 business days.
Hello,
I know this forum is old but I had a question. I recently just ordered a reel from JLS and I haven't got any confirmation that they shipped my reel and also no tracking number. When I go to the JLS website and look for my order#, it says that it is processing. I ordered it Sunday and it is Tuesday now. Any one run into this problem?
So today is only the second business day since you placed an order? I would be a little more patient and check back later in the week.

I wouldn't worry about they may be busy. Also when I've ordered from places such as Digitaka I never receive an email, a week after I order a reel will just randomly show up.
ebay. that way its guaranteed and ebay or paypall will give you your money back if something happens. most japanese lures readily available on ebay.
I've never looked at the Japanese fishing market stuff before, pretty neat but man, some of that stuff is spendy!!!

If you're buying reels it is much cheaper. Would you rather by a Metanium from Japan for $295 or $420 from the U.S?
