Well, I havent hardly touched a bass rod this year, and here are a couple trips I made in the last couple weeks with my girl.
The first one was just to see how hard I could push her. Her 14lb pack was not to bad over the 3.1 miles, since I was carrying the other 41lbs of our gear, lol. We made a quick trip in to catch some brookies and enjoy the scenery.
After that successful trip, I planned out a longer, tougher trip, with much higher rewards. This one was just a shade over 5 miles, but they were a tough 5 miles, with one very very gnarly stretch of straight uphill boulder scrambling. The last half mile was also trailless. We saw no one on the trails or at the lake, for the entire two days. This place is beautiful. Truly remarkable. Oh yeah, it also happens to have Golden Trout, the most coveted of the trout species. Their size was not stunning, but they're still Goldens ;D
Sure beats the crowded bass lakes this time of year.
d**n California is pretty.
Quoted**n California is pretty.
Yes it is.
I miss it very much, 6 years there were quite possibly some of my favorite years. Though I was in the desert, wish I had traveled around the state more, only made it to NorCal a dozen times.
Beautiful hikes man, I backpacked the PCT and Summit Trail while I was out there. Those memories will stick with me forever! It's great you have a girlfriend who likes to hike and likes the outdoors! My wife enjoys nature as well, makes for a great time.
sure looks nice my man,
there definitely isn't any scenery quite like that where im at.
Great pictures , thank you for sharing.
14 lbs? You need a bigger pack mu...er, woman.
The Sierras can be quite gorgeous. Certainly when compared to the rest of this crappy state.
I miss the Rockies though. Hopefully I will be back there in the next few years for good.
How'd they taste?
Crispy Golden Delicious ;D
Those are some great pics fourbiz, that sure is a beautiful place.
wow i live far away from that. in fact, i have not seen a natural rock in a few years lol
Why am I in Florida
QuoteCrispy Golden Delicious ;D

Quotewow i live far away from that. in fact, i have not seen a natural rock in a few years lol
Agree,or even a "hill" for that matter. Every inch of this state is perfectly flat.

i know i what to hit the streams round i guess round wv this winter and learn to fly fish. would love to get a cabin for a weekend stay. now my wife would be into that so i just might have to check into a decent one. anybody round va or wv now of a decent spot with trout streams and cabins? please pm me

Well said. Awesome pictures and it looked like you guys had a good time.
Branuss could only carry a 14 pound pack?
I only see one tent. Kind of like Brokeback Mountain, only you two actually fish too.
great pics fourbizz. every time i go to cali i don't want to leave. good surf, snowboarding, bass fishing. it is just soooo expensive to live there that i would never be able to buy a house on a teachers salary.
Great report and awesome pics. Thanks for sharing. ;D
great pics fourbizz. Looks like a great time.
I'm jealous man. You've had some great hikes and fishing trips this year. Nice post.
Man, that sure looks fine to me!
I didn't know you could find anywhere
in California away from the crowd, too
cool.
8-)
Thanks all. Good times were had. Had an awesome three day trip Tues-Thurs of this week. Took a bunch of pics if you guys wanna see them.
Tin, I'm glad that your wife let your balls out of her purse long enough to drop in on this thread.
Definitely post the latest pictures. I love bass fishing, but hiking in to a remote place for trout fishing is the best.
Great stuff here Mr. Biz.
It really takes me back. I tell you some of the best outdoor times I ever had were fishing for native brookies and/or smallmouth bass in the cold mountain streams of upstate NY.
The hiking where few ever venture and the shore lunch of fresh caught fish......DANG those are some great memories for me....glad your living large my friend.
