Hooked into a nice one around 7 pm...she got me wrapped around a sunken tree 40 feet out...was stuck for 5 minutes...swam in after her in blue jeans with my shoes on haha how many of you guys would have done the same
for sure and i have climbed trees for jigs and other things. but cant let the hawg get away. deffently not with a lure.
Welcome aboard!
Nice beast, and yeah, I'd probably go in after what
I think would be my next PB....
I thought she was bigger but I'll take it. Wasn't going to let her die there all wrapped up like she was. People were watching me swim in like I was crazy.
Nice! what she weigh?
Ive done it for any fish. Rather get wet than let it die and adds adventure to the day
Long as the water ain't to cold I'm in for any bass no matter what size it would be.
Never swam for a fish. I did have to swim for my boat once; and that's all I have to say about that...
Welcome aboard, and congratulations on retrieving that lunker!
Yeah, I've been known to enter the drink to grapple with a hog,
but I usually come back empty

I was a member here for like 3 years I just haven't been on in a year and it deleted my posts but saved my account and password weird...haha I swam in for one before and it got off by the time I got there. Glad I landed this one, it's so devastating losing a good bass.
Nice bass! I have gone in after a rod, but never a fish.
Heck yeah! Nice fish

Did that last Tuesday, in 52 degree water. It floated away in the 10-15 mile an hour wind while I was unsnagging on a boat lift, so I had to swim for it with a net in one hand. Not fun.
To the op, I have also had to swim for fish that get me tangled up. One was just over four pounds and got me tangled around the central dock post underneath a dock, so I jumped in after it and managed to grab the fish.
that is awesome!! love the commitment, and nice fish!!!
nice fish!! hope the water was warm. i'm to old to hold my breath that long. then you would have seen a funny video of some one pulling me back to the bank .
...... .....
I have swam into cold water for a $5 Academy Sports Crankbait.....
I swam after a few bass, once last year no so intentionally.

Water was very low 50s...wasn't too bad but the wind hitting me after was chilly...

LOL at least you got the fish
Nope.no swimming for fish yet.
Nice catch though.
I swam for a fish once when I was 15. Was bream/ catfishing with a dough ball on the bottom when I saw the line moving out. Started pulling it in I saw it was a nice bass .It got hung up in a dead tree by the bank and without hesitation I took the plunge. It wasnt a big deal since I wade fished as much as I bank fished back then !My pb at the time! 4 pounds. Dont think Ive ever swum for one since !

The wierdest thing is that my oldest son caught his first bass on a bread ball.
Ive actually caught bass on cut dead shiners while catfishing.
Swam after many ducks got a dog end of that ?.
Nice catch! At least you don't have to worry about gators.

I don't think I would swim in for a bass knowing there's gators around lol
