ok so i have gone to many and many online wieghers and typed in my lenght "22.5" and girth "16" and it verys between 7.5 and 7.9 and i was wondering if there is someone who knows a more accurate online scale to please do so to these measurements in about two days ill have it as my profile pic aswell.
thanks, Evan
Welcome!
That is a very large northern largemouth.
All any formulas can do is get close. What you have is probably a pretty good estimate.
I got 7.2.
thx ill try 2 get that pic up soon
just call it 7 and a half
and after you're done calling it 7 and a half, GO BUY A SCALE! ;D ;D
lol i bought a scale and now im done with online scales so im gona do tests tomarrow and c how accurate the online scales r just for laughs
the scale on bass resource consistantly weighs fish higher than they really are.
the best weight estimation (IMO) would be this formula:
LENGTH x LENGTH x GRITH = WEIGHT IN POUNDS
1200

Welcome to the best fishing site on the net.
It's good to see another Michigan member.

HAHAHAHA
7.25 sounds right but like Paul said it's big no matter what and I would rather forget to bring the scale than the Camera.
Good Fishin

Good job, man. What did you catch her on?
and... no pics?
No fish weight calculator is 100% correct.
I had a 8-13 that the went 8-6 on the calculator.
My 13lber I just caught is "15-3" according to the weight calculator.
These are the reasons everyone should own a scale.
I'd say it's somewhere between 7 and 8 so just call it 7 1/2.

If you have the pictures, that fish qualifies as a master angler LMB. Check out the DNR site to submit your catch.
I have been working hard all summer to get my 2008 patch.

The epitome of class. I'm being sersoullous.
evan, i don't think there's any way a fish with those measurements is 7-anything. my best guess would be 6.5-6.75. either way though, that's a very nice fish. good job.

whoa that stuff isnt tolerated on this board! suprised a mod hasn't caught that post yet.
tin is a funny guy and he was joking. there aren't many personal attacks on this board and if there are any they are resolved.
you should consider changing your ways if you plan on sticking around here for a while.

All of your posts have been epic, you need to either use proper grammar and spelling and be respectful of other members or find another board

Look Teenie Bopper, we don't type in abbreviations on this board. Please don't butcher the English Language. As far as the smarter bit, why don't you show it and type in complete sentences.
The State of Rhode Island or any of it's inhabitants has nothing to do with this discussion. Tin is a well respected member of this board who was pulling your chain.
Please refrain from the insults or I will be forced to release the hounds on you. Believe me, you don't want the hounds released!!
I just love seeing how everyone can get along so well.
I agree though this is not a site where we disrespect anyone for any reason, yes we may dissagree but we never disrespect. We all like to have a little fun so calm down and be happy there is such a site on the internet to help you with your question. And by the way... you are the one asking questions and if you start out with an attitude many guys on here will not try to help someone who is rude.

Wow! Missed this one...
Back to the original question, the various formulas provide a
pretty accurate "estimate" for the weight of a bass. If you
want to be "precise", buy a scale.
Regarding protocol, Jimzee summed it up:
