Answer: yes

Which rod would you use with this reel and also the bgmq1000

Answer: id get a med rod, a heavy rod is too much in my opinion and a light rod won't mach up either. if your looking to do some beach fishing id go with 8/9ft and if your fishing from a boat I'd go with a 6-7 ft rod

Answer: I use a G Loomis carbon fiber pole. Be sure to get one for spinning reels and not for bait casters.

Can you change handle right and left?

Answer: Yes the handle can swap left or right
