Answer: Hello, great question! There is a cover specifically designed for this unit, it is the Sportsman 500 cover.
Answer: I don't have the number, but it says Pit Boss Sportsman on the one I have. I can't say for any others but mine fits perfect

Answer: The full dimensions of this unit are (LxWxH) 48.6” x 31.7” x 46.7 and the 2 bottom cooking grids are 9.3" x 19.5" so yes you can fit a full packer.

Once assembled, it really is a nice piece of equipment. Built Solid with many nice features. Much less expensive than a Traegar.
Mike : Worth every penny
Firstly, I was gifted an 850 unit that looks the same as this one. However, I do purchase quite a few items from Amazon and routinely rely upon viewer reviews and advice and so I try to support that system with some reviews even on items that weren’t purchased through Amazon. Secondly, I have a couple of Weber kettles available and have used them for years. Thirdly, I have been cooking for 30+ years. All of the foregoing should give you some idea how to weigh my comments.
This unit is basically a smokey oven. It isn’t a grill like the Weber. It doesn’t have a broiler. Due to non gasketed doors and lack of insulation you will get some thermal variation in the cooking chamber. On the positive side it excels at low and slow and imparting a smoky flavor to many meats and it keeps the heat out of the kitchen during the heat of summer. They are worth every penny. I would strongly recommend combining apple, cherry, hickory and mesquite pellets to your individual taste (there is no right or wrong). Things that you normally do in the oven can easily be done outside. A good example is backed potatoes. They will have a delicious smoky flavor. Don’t hesitate to get all the bells and whistles they will make your experience so much more enjoyable. You will need a dual needle probe thermocouple and a Bluetooth allows you to sit in your air conditioned/heated kitchen and keep track of what’s going on outside. Keep in mind some foods can be brined to enhance their flavors.

Like being able to use flame broiled or infrared. Cooks without burning and very juicy. Ths smoke adds a nice flavor to the meat or vegetables!
