Questions about KOIOS Vacuum Sealer Machine, 80Kpa Automatic Food Sealer with Cutter for Food Savers, 10 Sealing Bags, With Up To 40 Consecutive Seals, Dry & Moist Modes, Compact Design (Silver)
Q:
Can someone recommend replacement bags?
Answer: We use Foodsaver but I think any sealable roll bags would work. You can cut it to any size you need right in the machine. We used to have a Foodsaver machine but like this one much better. And it is less expensive too which is always nice. We had some leftover Foodsaver bags and they work fine.
Q:
will this sealer re-seal a bag of lettuce/salad or other items bought at the store that comes in a plastic bag?
Answer: Smooth bags can only be sealed without vacuuming. I recommend for KOIOS special vacuum bags with textured for Vac-seal.
Q:
Does it come with a warranty?
Answer: COMES WITH A 1 YEAR WARRANTY BUT WHEN YOU REGISTER THE PRODUCT THEY GIVE YOU 2 YEARS
Q:
What is the sponge thing (kind of double that is hooked on each end) that came in the box? I see nothing in the user manual regarding it. Thanks!
Answer: They are kind enough to give you a spare. Same for the little rubber feet. Trying to replace parts like this would probably be tough. Working great
Answer: what is the clear tube with tan adapters at each end?
Answer: I think it's an extra sponge to make the seal in case the first receives damage. I just saved it.
Answer: It is an extra seal for the vacuum chamber
Q:
What else in the package besides the machine? Is there a bag cutter?
Answer: yes there is a cutter. It stores inside the machine. was a happy surprise when I found it. (open the machine like you are going to seal a bag...it is stored in there...is about the size of a silver dollar coin.) It also comes with the hose attachment to seal vacuum jars/containers. Haven't used that yet.
Answer: It came with an extra gasket, 10 special bags, a delicate cutter and a pumping pipe in the original package. So far, so good.
Answer: is the cutter part of the machine or separate?
Q:
I am not able to get this to work Is there a trick to the vacuum/seal?
Answer: I find that you need to make sure the bag to be sealed is cut clean and straight. Both sides of the outer portion of the bag to be sealed are clean and dry. Lay the bag and assure it is flat on the heating element and close the door making sure you press on both sides until it clicks. Press the vacuum and seal button. Should run its cycle completely and auto shut off. Press lock release bottoms and open doors. The product should vacuumed sealed.
Answer: I don’t know I sent it back. Decided to get new seals for my other one.
Q:
What does up to 30 consecutive seals mean? What happend after 30? And 'there will be a replacement sealing sponge'- do they wear out?
Answer: It simply means that you "should" be able to vac & seal 30 bags, before you have to stop to let it cool down.
Answer: It means you can seal 30 bags in a row without overheating or damaging the pump.
Answer: I have no idea what this is referring. I use this unit several times a week and have had no problems
Q:
Can I vacuum-seal warm prepared meals or I must wait until they are cold?
Answer: I only sealed cold or room temperature items.
Q:
can this work with liquid like foods such as chili?
Answer: I pré-freeze things like chili, soups, stews etc. I keep plastic containers just for this purpose in 2 different sizes, rectangular in shape. Pop the food out when frozen and vacuum seal in a bag. really easy to stack in freezer this way.
Answer: You can do this however I would suggest using a deep bag where the chili can sit in the bottom. You can use the suction to a point then stop it and seal. You don't want the liquid to be sucked into the machine.
Answer: yes. it has a setting for wet or dry food.
Answer: yes there is a setting for "wet" food. The vacuum is reduced
Answer: My suggestion would be to freeze the chili in serving bowls. Once frozen, pop out of bowl and freeze the frozen chili in your vacuum bags in perfect portions to serve.
Q:
Are Foodsaver hoses compatible with this sealer?
Answer: Yes I think that are. Mine fit.
Q:
is there a better user manual? I don't know how to use the tube thing.....
Answer: Find the hole the tube is used for attaching to jar seals to vacuam seal the jars
Answer: I have the same problem I regret this buy
Q:
Just got this but the qr code for the warranty does not work and i can’t find o line how to register. anybody have any luck lately?
Answer: I didn't have a problem with it
Q:
Is there a roll storage compartment?
Answer: No, there isn't a storage compartment.
Answer: Not that I have seen. I have mine in the cabinet with all our bags.
Answer: I bought sealer as a gift , sorry do not know.. lady is very happy with sealer
Q:
Is it better to take meat out of the store packaging before sealing?
Answer: I have always taken my meats out of the store packing before sealing.
Answer: yes unless it’s vacuum packed.
Answer: I would take it out
Q:
If you use a bag roll do you seal both ends?
Answer: You seal one end. Place the food inside. Then press seal and vaccum and seal the other side
Answer: Yes!
Answer: Yes duh
Q:

Answer: it will accept all size bags

Answer: Use the code VS20POFF in the discount code area.
Q:
Can any of these be sealed on the Moist setting: stews, spaghetti sauce, meat in thick sauce, soups?
Answer: I have not tried it on stuff this "Moist..." but I used it for my pulled pork with sauce inside. Id just make sure it really is sealed. it couple of mine took a few times sealing to actual seal. could be operator error, too.
Answer: Try freezing in shallow bowls and, then remove the frozen stew, sauce, or soup and vacuum seal it.
Answer: I tried sealing greens after cooking and draining them, but it overflowed and spilled all over the counter and didn't seal because it was too wet. I would recommend at least a partial freeze before sealing.
Answer: I think so! But the soup I have not tried before
Answer: Yes, I believe so.

Answer: No.
Answer: yes
Q:

Q:
Ready to return.Only have ever had Foodsave - cannot for the life of me figure out how to vacuum seal with this - and no instructions in manual...HELP
Answer: Ok. You don't have to return it. Take the bag with your food in it and lay the opening into the tray, the long opening tray near the hot brown strip at the front when you open the device. You look at it and can't figure out how it removed the air but it does. Making sure you have preheated it, shut the lid and push the button that says vacuum seal...also, lock it for safety. It will stop automatically and it will seal and seal well. I can't figure out how it does but it does. Please let me know if it worked. I just walked through the process to make sure I was telling you correctly.
Answer: I was confused by the just seal function because up until now I only used the vacuum&seal function. What I didn’t realize is that the seal only function (the gray button on the left) is quiet. At first I thought it was broken. As well, you have to make sure the end of the bag you are trying to seal has some room at the top. Also make sure you are closing the machine well. Push hard if you have to until you hear both sides click into place. Other tips include, making sure the bag edge is straight and not wet. Hope this helps.
Answer: Press the right button
Q:
how often to youe the seal?
Answer: I've never "to youe the seal"
Answer: At least once a day. I love it I just bought a bunch of steaks and roast had one of the roasts ground into Hamburg and bagged all of it. Put it in the freezer. It works perfectly every time. Before this one o ordered adifferent one it was the worst every time I tried to seal anything it would melt the bag and the seal was no good. So I decided to fine a new one and send it back. I watched video read about different ones before I made my decision on this one. Can’t go wrong. Best of luck!
Answer: what is the question?
Q:
Has anyone used this with salad? I was looking for a compatible cannister to use the hose attachment but can't find any on Amazon. Anyone have ideas?
Answer: This has an bonus device to remove air from canisters... you should be able to put salad in a bag and use this device. One tip when sealing salad in a bag... insert a white paper towel before sealing. This will help to keep your lettuce from turning brown.

Answer: Yes, with the proper adapter. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016OL1AB6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Answer: I don't know why you couldn't but you would need the type of lid that will accommodate the vacuum's tubing. I think you can purchase special lids but I haven't tried that feature yet and don't have any lids that would work.

Why is the unit cheaper than the tvs-2150? are there mechanical differences/improvements?
Answer: Not quite sure that’s a relevant
Q:
I purchased and was unable to get the bag to seal automatically. I had to push the seal button. I find this different than the description?
Answer: You're joking, right. Automatic means you push the button, the vacuum sealer vacuums, the sealer seals the bag and shuts off when finished. All in one operation. Like your car has a automatic transmission, that doesn't mean you don't have to start the engine and put it in gear, does it?
Answer: You're joking, right. Automatic means you push the button, the vacuum sealer vacuums, the sealer seals the bag and shuts off when finished. All in one operation. Like your car has a automatic transmission, that doesn't mean you don't have to start the engine and put it in gear, does it?
Answer: Mine will not seal automatically either. I must press the seal button to complete the job.
Answer: It won't auto seal if you have it on moist, it only auto seals on dry mode.
Answer: Yes I did too! Other than that it works great for me
Answer: Same here, I believe it's a defect.
Answer: You guys must be doing something wrong cuz I didn't have to touch anything

Product reviews of KOIOS Vacuum Sealer Machine, 80Kpa Automatic Food Sealer with Cutter for Food Savers, 10 Sealing Bags, With Up To 40 Consecutive Seals, Dry & Moist Modes, Compact Design (Silver)
David : I love this thing!
This is the first vacuum sealer I have ever had, and I don't know why I've gone so long without getting one sooner. This particular sealer is so easy to use with just three buttons. It comes with a sample set of two different sized bags, but if you want to buy your own supply of sealer bags you get go the economical route of buying a roll. This allows you to cut the bags to the size you need (a cutting tool is provided), use the seal only function to seal one end, then use the vacuum/seal function for the other end after putting your food in it. I appreciate the option of stopping the vacuum process before it's completely vacuumed...this allows you to vacuum/seal breads without them becoming compressed/squished. For example, the first time I sealed a left-over slice of pizza I let it go the full cycle of vacuuming the bag and my crust was completely compressed. The next time I stopped the vacuum process once it had removed the excess air from the bag but before it removed the air from the crust, and this was perfect. I highly recommend this product!
Angelwings2ltd : So far, Its Good
Everything is working fine. You need to make sure you get the bag in just far enough to get the vacuum to work right. But there is always a learning curve for new things.
This machine is better than others I have tried in the past, and the price is reasonable. . . .
I have had issues with the side locks. Its a bit hard to press to get it to lock. I have nerve issues in my hands, & got this brand/model after reading a review from a buyer who had similar probs with their hands, and how this model was not an issue for them. - - The good news is you do not have to lock the sides, when you just want to seal the bags! I make several bags, in assorted sizes, in advance of my filling & vacuum sealing.
I just wish manufacturers would make the side locks easier to latch. After all, it is the hooked clip that actually makes it latch. My recommendation for the manufacturer, is to use a weaker spring on the mechanism. It would be easier for people to press the ends to get it to lock. - - - but that is just My opinion.
Marissa Ivy : Great looking and compact though not as powerful as some larger vacuum sealers
I am happy with this vacuum sealer overall though wish it pulled more of a vacuum. This is great looking and doesn't take up much space on the counter though it is not sealing as well as the larger unit I had used for years. The bags don't "shrink" around the item as tightly making it appear that it may not be preserving the item as well so perhaps the item's life in the freezer may not be as strong. I had hoped to replace my larger one with this one though for bigger projects where I need to be sure it's truly pulling a strong vacuum or to do a number of items in succession--it looks as if I'll be keeping the other one, as well.
steve : .01 star will not recommend due to waste of money and bags that only seal at random.
Despite the fact that it says it will seal food with liquid(fruits, sauces, and kind of food that may contain any type of liquid substance), every time I try to seal fresh sliced fruits, it pulls the juices into the machine. This makes a mess both inside and outside of the processor, but also on the counter. Very labor intensive if you are going to be using it for large batches of food. I now have to start the vacuum process using 1 bag then putting that bag inside another bag, except upside down the start the vacuum process and sealing on the 2nd bag. This is not only, wasteful, expensive, and time consuming. Another issue is that when sealing dry goods, it will vacuum but not seal. I then have to cut the bag down and start again. Would not recommend. Will be purchasing a new and better one soon.
Tracy M. : It's so easy to use!
I love this thing! I used it side by side with a large FoodSaver unit, and like it so much better. It is easier to use because the item being vacuumed can sit directly on the counter, and I didn't have to hold it up and push the vacuum button. The little cutter is smooth and works perfect for making the exact size bag you need. Everything about it was easier than the other leading brand, there's something to be said for simplicity. Also, had a little trouble registering the product online and used their chat feature: Frank was terrific and activated my warranty in less than 5 minutes.
Tori : Does not vacuum or seal.
We bought this because of the amazing reviews it received, but the product did not live up to the reviews. We recently bought a bunch of fresh meat and wanted to portion it out into smaller serving sizes now that there are just two people in the house. We started trying to vacuum seal the meat and it took us multiple attempts to get the machine to actually vacuum and seal the bags. Sometimes, it would only partially vacuum. Other times, it would not vacuum seal at all. The machine would run and seal itself, but not remove the air from the bag. For every one successful vacuum and seal, we had 3-4 failures. We followed all the instructions and even went through all the troubleshooting steps we found online, but nothing seemed to help. We also could not find one specific technique that worked. It just seemed completely random as to whether or not it would work. I would not recommend this product. Additionally, it took some significant pressure to even close the machine for sealing. If you needed to seal a number of bags, it could get really difficult.
Sam I Am : Great features/great price
I have been using vacuum sealing systems for years. My first was in the late 70s and it was called Daisey something. I had been using Foodsaver systems, but decided I wanted to try something less expensive. I chose this model during Amazon days in July and got pretty good deal. I have used it to vacuum pack dehydrated veggies and fruit, citric acid (which I buy in bulk for canning), and meat. I have also used it to vacuum pack items in half gallon and quart jars like tortilla chips (bought in bulk at Costco), flour, and coffee beans. So far this item has performed very well. My only concern is that I have to press buttons on the side of the unit for it to work properly. I can see those breaking over time. We will see.
Mirusel : The best vacuum sealer I'v used.
After buying and using the most visible brands of vacuum sealers over the last 15 years the Koios Vacuum Sealer is the best I have used. It is light weight and quite small compared to the top national brands. My favorite function is the ability to seal bags without the vacuum having to be used. The suction is fast and complete no matter if I vacuum frozen peaches or raw meat. It comes with ready made bags but I use bags from a roll and they work as well as the preformed bags. I highly recommend the Koios Vacuum Sealer.
LL : Great vacuum sealer! Bonus slicer and air tube! Love it!
I got this vacuum sealer because it had 80Kpa (for us Americans, this is 11.603 PSI) of suction. It performs very well and I have sealed many fruits/veggies/nut bags with it. It comes with a neat slicer to cut bags to custom sizes and an air tube to vacuum seal containers (containers purchased separately). Also, the customer service was very responsive when I asked them a few questions about containers.
Dlee : It does what it should effortlessly
It will do the job nicely. Vacuums and/or seals with just the light touch of a button that is lit to tell you it is working. It does not get any easier than that. Line the bag up correctly and be amazed at how well it seals to keep the food in the best frozen condition. Simple and straight forward printed directions accompany the product in the box but you can also download the manual if that is your preference. I bought this to replace a broken high end model and current prices made it anything but a bargain so I went looking and found this treasure.
Javonte Hawkins : Beautiful machine
Love it
Colorado mountains : I like it!
Does a great job! Pretty easy to use. Love the warranty program with chat through Messenger. A few notes: when cutting a large bag down to 2 smaller bags, you only need to put 1/2 inch or so on top of the gold heating bar on the bottom, close the top, and press "Seal." When actually sealing food, its best to slide the bag the full inch or so until it stops at the black plastic tabs, then press down HEAVILY on the silver top, until the two side plastic tabs "click" and then select "Vacuum + Seal" - make sure you have already selected "dry" for completely dry food (don't know what that could be - trail mix maybe?) or more likely "moist" for chicken pieces, steak, hamburger, etc. OK, 2 other notes: (1) don't be stingy with the bag size. You need a good 2 inches of bag after the edge of the food, and (2) if you are loading "moist " food (meaning any meat), putting your meat into the bag will make the inside of the bag moist. YOU MUST DRY OFF THE INSIDE OF THE BAG above the food or it will not seal. Napkin works fine.
Rebekah M Gibbs : Works great I am really pleased.
I love everything about this. I just wanted something to keep the air out of my frozen foods. I have recently started making my own dog food so it's important that I can freeze without the ice burn. I could not figure out how to get it to shut tight where you hear the click. My husband came in and it clicked one side at a time and it worked. There are not instructions but they are quick to answer any questions you have. Good customer service. I still am not sure when to use dry or moist setting but I am going to text the customer service. They get back with you right away. Good to order the bags that they have for this machine. The other ones you have to cut and seal both ends. The one with this machine comes already closed at one end.
John : Excellent Vacuum Sealer!
This thing is very powerful and works extremely well. I have only had it for a few days but have already used it to seal many items. I have sealed dry goods and wet items with excellent results. I have tried many other brands, with various problems, but I have not been able to identify anything lacking in this unit. If you need a vacuum sealer with great suction power and is easy to use, this is the unit for you. This will keep just about anything fresh for an extended period. Great product!
Amazon Customer : It is durable
I am new to vacuum sealers I have never owned one. This vacuum sealer for the price is amazing it does a great job vacuum sealing my beef jerky. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to buy it.
Wonky Bristols : Flimsy flimsy flimsy. See pics.
I owned my vacuum sealer only 5 months before the little trigger knob on the right corner of the lid broke off. I don’t even know how this happened. The machine won’t activate without the little knob, and the way it’s shaped makes it impossible to glue back. Now the machine is useless :(
8/18/20 Update: I found an earring stopper which I was able to shimmy some glue into the hollow opening and successfully glue where the trigger knob had been. That got the machine working again. It is now only a few months later and my machine has a few more major defects. The part of the lid that attaches to the hinge has cracked on both sides, including the underside of the lid (see pictures, no amount of glue could fix it.) I love a good bargain, but it is clear this was not one. It is simply poorly built and the materials used do not take into consideration the type of force needed to seal properly. There is no way for me to repair this new problem, and, frankly, I shouldn’t have to. Extremely disappointed. And this is the first time I’ve had a product purchased on Amazon fall apart like this.
Lisa Crowe : Trash. Do not buy. I'm done. 2nd unit to be returned.
This is the 2nd unit I've bought that has failed - very same problem both times. Namely after about 2 dozen uses the unit stops sealing after the suction function. In other words it will seal the open end then do the suction part but not seal on the other end. The last time I contacted them they had me take a video of the problem, which I did, then they sent a replacement unit. Very same failure again. Not worth my trouble to call, take another video, etc. It's going in the trash.
Beaglemom : Locking mechanism is hard to engage
Once i got the hang of it I got it to work well. First, I am 70 and things are more difficult for me. I did view many videos on Youtube. My top gripe is how hard it is to get the side locks engaged to start it. Second, cutting the bags (which come on a roll and have to be individually cut. I am using a cutting board and lining the bag up and cutting with scissors and this makes a clean straight cut. Don't try to freehand it. I see some of the sealers have built in cutters. I did mess up a few of the first ones. I would say to go to Youtube and watch some videos until you get a handle on how it works. I have done some veggies just to put in the frig (a tomato and a pepper)as an experiment. It would be nice to seal tomatos and have them keep for a long time in the frig. I do them individually and don't wash them but just clean them off if they have any debris or film on them. Time will tell. If this works well it will save some money by preserving my garden vegs.
Judy Pickens Montgomery : Don't waste your money
I was looking forward to using this for garden vegetables that I normally put in ziploc bags. I just wasted my money!! First, it will NOT vacuum and seal. That button only vacuums, it will NOT seal anything. Not even an empty bag!! You have to let it vacuum and then hit the seal button and wait a few seconds and hold your breath that it sealed. The instructions are just awful. They do not explain anything other than place the bag on the front, close and lock the lid, hit vacuum and seal. I did that about 7 times to no avail, then I went to empty bags and tried, still would not seal!! So, one last time I tried vacuum and seal and then hit the "seal" button on the left and it made a seal. The instructions do not tell you that!! That was with sliced up fresh yellow squash. Got that done. However, when trying to seal my grated zucchini it will NOT make a seal, just pulls the little bit of liquid up into the rim and will not make a seal. So, if you are willing to make lots of extra effort to seal something that is not totally DRY (the moist button does not help) then I'd suggest you save your money. Yes, I can send it back, they have Amazon return, but that will cost me whatever they decide to deduct from your refund and I've found that is usually a lot, so normally I don't even bother to send stuff back because of that reason. I'll keep it to just do dry things and realize it won't always work as it should. Another thing is that they put some extra things in the box. One I figured out is a seal. Then there's some sort of hose in there. NOTHING in the paperwork explains what these are for or how to install. Guess you have to already know. I suggest looking somewhere else for a sealer.
Goinbigger : Works as intended.
Was sceptical of some of the reviews when I saw they were offering free products in exchange for positive reviews. I intentionally did not submit a review until I had a chance to use it a few times with a variety of stuff and did not submit for any free products. I've done 10 lbs. of coffee beans, ~30lbs. of ground beef, bunch of veggies, some small med kits for camping and a few other small things. Also used the included vac bags and some other stuff that comes on a roll. Both seem to work equally well. I haven't had a single problem with the machine. A couple user errors like getting a coffee bean between the top and bottom so it wouldn't hold a vacuum. However the machine just won't seal until it can hold the vacuum. That's a nice feature. Vacuum is very strong. My bags of coffee beans are hard as a rock. Everything I've tried has worked very well. I've read a few reviews stating it pulls liquids into the machine. Think about this for a moment folks. You are pulling a strong vaccine on a liquid. Of course it will pull a liquid into the machine. Have you never used a straw? You can't exactly vacuum seal a soup in a bag and expect it to not pull liquid into the machine. Face meet palm. I have done some fairly moist veggies and fruits and had no issues. So I can only assume people are trying to vacuum seal liquids. My hope in society is dwindling. If you want to do liquids, they make vacuum containers exactly for that purpose. I haven't tried that yet but might in the future. Use it as intended and it has worked well so far. Can't really comment on longevity as I've only had it a short while. At this point I feel it's a very good machine for the price.
W. Vogel II : Good light duty Vacuum sealer
The product worked well right out of the box .It is a light duty vacuum sealer . It claims it can do about 40 seals before it becomes to hot but that seems a bit of a stretch . I found i had sealed about 24 packages before it became a struggle to vacuum. I let it cool down and then it resumed working well . It is good for sealing a few packages at a time . And recommend it highly for that . If you plan on buying in bulk and repackaging or harvesting from home , i would suggest on planning enough time to let it cool down between seals . A very nice product for the price either way but not designed for larger projects or homes . I made 28 pounds of homemade sausage , frozen into approximately 1 lb packages and got most of way through the sealing of packages before it needed to rest ( cool down ) . The seal seems to be very good .
sojourner : I can't believe I've been living without this.
All those bad memories of looking at expensive vacuum sealing products at Sam's club have now faded into the distance. Now, when I walk past the $200.00 units at the Club's, , I smile and feel somewhat smart because I found this sealer at a fraction of the cost. Even the bags on Amazon are much lower priced. Aside from the awesome value and performance of this unit, the actual result cant be beat. I watched a few youtube videos on how to use this. In only thirty minutes, I had 14 pounds of Rib-Eye steaks, each cut to 10 ounces, sealed and in the freezer! I used my nifty Wiskars paper cutter to cut the bags without need for scissors or the little cutter that comes with this unit. I did use the provided cutter and it works well. I just prefer the paper cutter because I can instantly get a straight cut and always the same length. No crooked cuts. I did learn that a few bags were not sealing because I wasnt inserting the bag all the way into the sealer. Also, I pre-froze all the steaks overnite which made sealing an absolute delight. No blood or liquids made it easy. I also sealed portions of chocklate to be boiled in bag for camping. I'm gonna stick my head on the tracks by trying to seal burritos, then boil them in bag! Good for seagulls also, I think.
Michael Molinaro : Poor design and performance
Did not seal automatically about half the time. Suction was low so it took a long time to evacuate the air from the bag before it could attempt to seal it. In most cases the bags needed to be sealed manually after the vacuum did not automatically switch to the seal mode.
Amazon Customer : Great sealer
The sealer works really well and is very easy to use. Bought it during the pandemic to seal meats we were buying to freeze. It is simple and easy - vacuums and seals in about a minute. We have used it a lot and it has allowed us to freeze a lot more meat than we would have been able to with just ziplock bags. I have recommend this to family and friends and they too have been happy with it. Would have given this sealer a 5 star review if they had provided better instructions. Having never used a food sealer before, I had to go on YouTube to learn how to use it. There is also a tube provided that I still don't know its purpose ... guess that is another YouTube video I'll have to hunt down! :)
Michelle McRoberts : Amazing and affordable
My family and I have always bought our meat in bulk and just lut it in a ziplock bag and throw it in the freezer. A month later the meat was freezer burnt. My wife said to find a vacuum sealer. I did some reading up and there were tons of great reviews for this product and was very affordable. After 30Lbs of beef and 20lbs of chicken i will never give this product up. My wife calls it my new favorite toy.
Drew : Dissapointed and returning
Suction power is lacking and bubbles seem to need to be pressed out most of the time. Sealer does not initiate 50% of the time after vacuuming, see attached video. You can easily press seal after the vacuum and seal button short cycles but air gets back in, affecting freshness and absence of oxygen levels.
Randy I. : The vacuum seal setting did not work.
I bought this machine in November to give as a gift in March. Now, I CANNOT return it. It had already been opened as evidenced by the machine itself didn't have the plastic wrap around it. When my daughter tried to use it, the vacuum/seal setting made the sound as if it were working. Some of the air was vacuumed out BUT the seal did not take.
The seal setting works.
R. Wallace : Good value sealer, but annoying request for 5-star review
After receiving repeating emails from the seller offering me a free 4k action camera in exchange for a 5-star review, I thought I'd write a 4-star review and make readers aware that all 5-star reviews for this product are suspect. I'm sure most are honest, but all are suspect due to the actions of the seller.
Nevertheless, here's my experience with and review of the KOIOS VS2233:
This is a very decent vacuum sealer, especially for the price. I have been using it almost daily since I purchased it - mostly for sous vide cooking, but also for packaging food for freezer storage. I typically use it with FoodSaver brand bag rolls (I have a bunch), but have used it with "heavy-duty" bag rolls, too.
There are features I would have preferred to see, but they're reserved for the higher-priced KOIOS model. I'd have liked to see a removable vacuum tray to make cleaning easier. I'd have also liked an "inching" or manual vacuum function, but that can be roughly simulated by starting and stopping the Vacuum&Seal operation. None of this is a surprise and didn't affect my rating; I knew these features were not on this model.
BTW, I have not used it to seal "chip" bags. Honestly, binder clips work very well for that task and are readily available from the office. ;)
I do have a few specific gripes about the VS2233:
The Vacuum&Seal (auto seal) function continues sucking on a vacuum long after all air has been removed. Eventually it's satisfied and seals the bag. I don't know if the lengthy suck session indicates a poorly adjusted sensor or if it just cuts off after a fixed time, but it's annoying. When it does this, I usually jut press the manual Seal button to stop the vacuum and immediately seal the bag.
Another minor complaint I have is the excessive grip strength needed to latch the lid. I find I often have to grip the front corners and squeeze fairly hard to get both sides to latch. And while the release is very easy with the two side buttons, I worry about eventual wear on the latches.
Things I like: In general, it works well. I found it to be a good value - worth the money.
It wasn't broken on arrival; it was brand new and wasn't soiled or used - a plus. These conditions are expected but are not always a given, even when "Fulfilled by Amazon." [I once bought a "new" rice cooker here, FBA, that arrived filthy and with cooked rice still in the bowl.]
In particular, I liked: The heat-sealer part worked very well. It powered through a bit of water on the bag without problems, even on Dry food mode. It also sealed the slightly thicker "heavy-duty" bags that two of my previous vacuum sealers had real problems with. Examination of the seals made by the VS2233 showed a wide, uniform seal across the entire length of the bag.
I first thought the little cutter included with and stored in a slot in the sealer was a bit of a gimmick. Just use scissors to cut the bags, right? But I found the cutter to be convenient and practical. I also get straighter and cleaner cuts with it than with scissors for some reason.
The vacuum motor is certainly strong enough (and loud enough) to draw a good vacuum and it does a fine job. Other sealers I've owned would cut off the motor automatically before I was truly satisfied. This one is more satisfying - possibly related to that vacuum sensor adjustment I complained about earlier.
Overall, I really like this vacuum sealer. I've gone through a couple of other "value" sealers that didn't work very well, or for very long. I'm glad I found this one - it works as I would expect and it appears sturdy enough to last. I'll know for sure in a few more months.
Happicamper : Saves time, money and space!
First time purchasing and using a vacuum sealer. I’m so happy with this machine. I chose it bcc of the great reviews and it definitely lives up to the hype! The directions are useless so, YouTubed it and started sealing in seconds. We sealed fresh asparagus and blueberries. Then fresh fish and steaks, (tip: freeze the fish and meat prior to sealing to avoid any juices getting sucked into the machine). It is so nice to buy from the”big box” store without wasting expensive, quality food! I think this will definitely cut our food bill 25-30% and save trips to the store. Also, we have a tiny freezer so, I took our frozen boxed food out of their boxes, cut out the heating instructions, slid everything in a bag and resealed. It only took 5 minutes, and the result: It saved SO much room in our freezer and now we can find everything too!
AC : Great!
I ordered this after my third food saver stopped working. It had great reviews and thought I would give it a try. I am a bulk cooker. So I use it all day long and then don't use it again until about 6 months later. My first time using it I bagged 2 whole chickens, 6 chicken breast and 30 hamburger patties. This worked flawless ! It is easier to use than my last one, has better suction and seals better! I'm sold!! Takes up less room in my pantry too. I bought 2 by mistake but I'm keeping the other one for backup and because the price was so good! Also comes with an extra seal, very nice.
Kyle Marley : Really nice for the price
I’ve only used this sealer for 5 packages of deer sausage, but it seems to work like a charm. I’ve wanted a vacuum sealer for a long time and I finally pulled the trigger and got this budget friendly system.

Lisa S : Took a chance and I'm really happy
After reading reviews I thought I would give this version a shot over the main brand. I love it. It works really well and has sealed perfectly every time. I have had it almost 4 months and use it multiple times a week. It has done a great job or pulling the air out and nothing has gotten freezer burn. The only bad thing is to lock it you have to push down pretty hard on the 2 sides. This can be kinda hard to do alone if I am holding a heavy bag of something liquidly, like spaghetti sauce. I can do it alone but I usually just ask a kid for help.
AC : Great!

T C : Perfect for sous vide.
I don’t write reviews often, but I’ve been so impressed with this vacuum sealer that I felt I had to write one.
It is compact and light. This concerned me at first, thinking that heft would mean better vacuum sealing power. I was wrong. It vacuums like a champ and continues to vacuum until the sealing begins. Other brands stop the vacuuming when the sealing begins and this lets some air back into the bag leaving a not totally vacuum sealed bag.
How I know this is when I open the bag, it is so sealed that there is a suction to the food that was created. I made some sous vide last night and the bag was hard to open after I cut it open. The two sides of the bag were right up against the ???? and created a very tight seal.
It was also very affordable. Wide sealing area. Could have had a better cord management system integrated into the machine, but I’m very happy overall. Would buy again and highly recommended.
Tmarie : Would not buy again.
I was sad when my food saver burnt out, so I needed another vacuum sealer that wasn't $200. First off it takes forever...... to seal anything! When I got it to work right I sealed a bunch of meats and stored in my freezer. When I pull them out later about 1/3 of bags were not vacuumed anymore and had air in them. ???? the bags it comes with are not real thick and feel cheap. But I guess that's what you get for only spending $65
Allan LeTourneau : Save your money and time!
Difficult to learn proper use, time consuming. Cutter was not included and company did not respond. Needs to have a container that you can pull out plastic and cut off desired length. Too difficult to cut a straight line. Needs to have an adjustable loop to keep bag open while inserting food. You almost need to have a second person to hold open otherwise you get food all over the area that you need to seal. Makes a huge mess. Would much rather use seal and lock bags. Much faster and saves the mess.
Vir Cotto : Fine - until it stopped working
The machine is pretty minimal and it worked as expected for two years - nothing special. Over the last couple of months it slowly started not switching to "seal" mode at the end of the vacuum process. Would just keep running until it timed out and didn't engage the sealing. The seal works manually. The gaskets were all cleaned and free of any liquid or solids. Not worth the money. Buying a more robust and higher quality machine as a replacement. It received relatively light use (couple times a week at most).
We will see.
gjc. : Vacuum is powerful, good sealer
I was excited to purchase my first food sealing machine by KOIOS and I have now sealed 4 bags and I must say I am still in the learning stage. The machine suction is powerful and it seals nicely. I initially found it difficult to close the lid, but pressed down vertically on the smooth part of lid or pressed each side individually. When sealing liquids I did have an overflow which was corrected by freezing the food first. I still find the bags curl and it is difficult to get them straight on the sealing strip before closing the lid, but I am working on it.
Steve K : Insufficient Vacuum power on 4th bag
Regardless of the willingness of the supplier to probably send me another unit, if I buy something that fails to work properly after the 4th use, I lose far too much confidence to try another (1 trip to the UPS store to return is enough). On that 4th bag, the "Vacuum & Seal" just vacuumed, and did not seal (similarly noted by some other reviewers). I liked the price, but will go back to Food Saver, which costs far more but lasted a long time. I also bought a Crenova, but it failed after about 15 bags...and I don't use these more than 15-20 bags per year.
B.J. : quiet small works great will order again if needed customer servive very suppotive.
I had a different kind before so this one is different was surprised so of course so settings meant different things. Very easy to use but it did pull too much fluid and had a hard time sealing but I was filling it to full. I need to experiment and get all settings for the things I usually use it for. I love it , it is so quiet you can actually hear. and so small but seals as good as the great big one. good suction power that was probably better. Very impressed with it. will spread the word. the company seems to be great. full year warranty. which is very rare unless you pay. you will not be disappointed.
PlantsGalore : Quick and Easy
I have to say I have been overdue for a new food sealer. I used to have to put ALL my weight on it, to latch it. I have lot of health issues and nerve damage in my hands, so to have some ease using a sealer is great.THIS ONE Is SO easy to use, and the little cutter that is tucked inside is really helpfull as well. I have used the sealer at least 30 times already, and no problems.
Drew : Dissapointed and returning

Love it

you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
