Questions about KOIOS Vacuum Sealer Machine, 80Kpa Automatic Food Sealer with Cutter for Food Savers, 10 Sealing Bags, With Up To 40 Consecutive Seals, Dry & Moist Modes, Compact Design (Silver)
Q:
Can someone recommend replacement bags?
Answer: We use Foodsaver but I think any sealable roll bags would work. You can cut it to any size you need right in the machine. We used to have a Foodsaver machine but like this one much better. And it is less expensive too which is always nice. We had some leftover Foodsaver bags and they work fine.
Q:
will this sealer re-seal a bag of lettuce/salad or other items bought at the store that comes in a plastic bag?
Answer: Smooth bags can only be sealed without vacuuming. I recommend for KOIOS special vacuum bags with textured for Vac-seal.
Q:
Does it come with a warranty?
Answer: COMES WITH A 1 YEAR WARRANTY BUT WHEN YOU REGISTER THE PRODUCT THEY GIVE YOU 2 YEARS
Q:
What is the sponge thing (kind of double that is hooked on each end) that came in the box? I see nothing in the user manual regarding it. Thanks!
Answer: They are kind enough to give you a spare. Same for the little rubber feet. Trying to replace parts like this would probably be tough. Working great
Answer: what is the clear tube with tan adapters at each end?
Answer: I think it's an extra sponge to make the seal in case the first receives damage. I just saved it.
Answer: It is an extra seal for the vacuum chamber
Q:
What else in the package besides the machine? Is there a bag cutter?
Answer: yes there is a cutter. It stores inside the machine. was a happy surprise when I found it. (open the machine like you are going to seal a bag...it is stored in there...is about the size of a silver dollar coin.) It also comes with the hose attachment to seal vacuum jars/containers. Haven't used that yet.
Answer: It came with an extra gasket, 10 special bags, a delicate cutter and a pumping pipe in the original package. So far, so good.
Answer: is the cutter part of the machine or separate?
Q:
I am not able to get this to work Is there a trick to the vacuum/seal?
Answer: I find that you need to make sure the bag to be sealed is cut clean and straight. Both sides of the outer portion of the bag to be sealed are clean and dry. Lay the bag and assure it is flat on the heating element and close the door making sure you press on both sides until it clicks. Press the vacuum and seal button. Should run its cycle completely and auto shut off. Press lock release bottoms and open doors. The product should vacuumed sealed.
Answer: I don’t know I sent it back. Decided to get new seals for my other one.
Q:
What does up to 30 consecutive seals mean? What happend after 30? And 'there will be a replacement sealing sponge'- do they wear out?
Answer: It simply means that you "should" be able to vac & seal 30 bags, before you have to stop to let it cool down.
Answer: It means you can seal 30 bags in a row without overheating or damaging the pump.
Answer: I have no idea what this is referring. I use this unit several times a week and have had no problems
Q:
Can I vacuum-seal warm prepared meals or I must wait until they are cold?
Answer: I only sealed cold or room temperature items.
Q:
can this work with liquid like foods such as chili?
Answer: I pré-freeze things like chili, soups, stews etc. I keep plastic containers just for this purpose in 2 different sizes, rectangular in shape. Pop the food out when frozen and vacuum seal in a bag. really easy to stack in freezer this way.
Answer: You can do this however I would suggest using a deep bag where the chili can sit in the bottom. You can use the suction to a point then stop it and seal. You don't want the liquid to be sucked into the machine.
Answer: yes. it has a setting for wet or dry food.
Answer: yes there is a setting for "wet" food. The vacuum is reduced
Answer: My suggestion would be to freeze the chili in serving bowls. Once frozen, pop out of bowl and freeze the frozen chili in your vacuum bags in perfect portions to serve.
Q:
Are Foodsaver hoses compatible with this sealer?
Answer: Yes I think that are. Mine fit.
Q:
is there a better user manual? I don't know how to use the tube thing.....
Answer: Find the hole the tube is used for attaching to jar seals to vacuam seal the jars
Answer: I have the same problem I regret this buy
Q:
Just got this but the qr code for the warranty does not work and i can’t find o line how to register. anybody have any luck lately?
Answer: I didn't have a problem with it
Q:
Is there a roll storage compartment?
Answer: No, there isn't a storage compartment.
Answer: Not that I have seen. I have mine in the cabinet with all our bags.
Answer: I bought sealer as a gift , sorry do not know.. lady is very happy with sealer
Q:
Is it better to take meat out of the store packaging before sealing?
Answer: I have always taken my meats out of the store packing before sealing.
Answer: yes unless it’s vacuum packed.
Answer: I would take it out
Q:
If you use a bag roll do you seal both ends?
Answer: You seal one end. Place the food inside. Then press seal and vaccum and seal the other side
Answer: Yes!
Answer: Yes duh

Q:
Can any of these be sealed on the Moist setting: stews, spaghetti sauce, meat in thick sauce, soups?
Answer: I have not tried it on stuff this "Moist..." but I used it for my pulled pork with sauce inside. Id just make sure it really is sealed. it couple of mine took a few times sealing to actual seal. could be operator error, too.
Answer: Try freezing in shallow bowls and, then remove the frozen stew, sauce, or soup and vacuum seal it.
Answer: I tried sealing greens after cooking and draining them, but it overflowed and spilled all over the counter and didn't seal because it was too wet. I would recommend at least a partial freeze before sealing.
Answer: I think so! But the soup I have not tried before
Answer: Yes, I believe so.

Answer: yes

Q:
Ready to return.Only have ever had Foodsave - cannot for the life of me figure out how to vacuum seal with this - and no instructions in manual...HELP
Answer: Ok. You don't have to return it. Take the bag with your food in it and lay the opening into the tray, the long opening tray near the hot brown strip at the front when you open the device. You look at it and can't figure out how it removed the air but it does. Making sure you have preheated it, shut the lid and push the button that says vacuum seal...also, lock it for safety. It will stop automatically and it will seal and seal well. I can't figure out how it does but it does. Please let me know if it worked. I just walked through the process to make sure I was telling you correctly.
Answer: I was confused by the just seal function because up until now I only used the vacuum&seal function. What I didn’t realize is that the seal only function (the gray button on the left) is quiet. At first I thought it was broken. As well, you have to make sure the end of the bag you are trying to seal has some room at the top. Also make sure you are closing the machine well. Push hard if you have to until you hear both sides click into place. Other tips include, making sure the bag edge is straight and not wet. Hope this helps.
Answer: Press the right button
Q:
how often to youe the seal?
Answer: I've never "to youe the seal"
Answer: At least once a day. I love it I just bought a bunch of steaks and roast had one of the roasts ground into Hamburg and bagged all of it. Put it in the freezer. It works perfectly every time. Before this one o ordered adifferent one it was the worst every time I tried to seal anything it would melt the bag and the seal was no good. So I decided to fine a new one and send it back. I watched video read about different ones before I made my decision on this one. Can’t go wrong. Best of luck!
Answer: what is the question?
Q:
Has anyone used this with salad? I was looking for a compatible cannister to use the hose attachment but can't find any on Amazon. Anyone have ideas?
Answer: This has an bonus device to remove air from canisters... you should be able to put salad in a bag and use this device. One tip when sealing salad in a bag... insert a white paper towel before sealing. This will help to keep your lettuce from turning brown.

Answer: Yes, with the proper adapter. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016OL1AB6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Q:
I purchased and was unable to get the bag to seal automatically. I had to push the seal button. I find this different than the description?
Answer: You're joking, right. Automatic means you push the button, the vacuum sealer vacuums, the sealer seals the bag and shuts off when finished. All in one operation. Like your car has a automatic transmission, that doesn't mean you don't have to start the engine and put it in gear, does it?
Answer: You're joking, right. Automatic means you push the button, the vacuum sealer vacuums, the sealer seals the bag and shuts off when finished. All in one operation. Like your car has a automatic transmission, that doesn't mean you don't have to start the engine and put it in gear, does it?
Answer: Mine will not seal automatically either. I must press the seal button to complete the job.
Answer: It won't auto seal if you have it on moist, it only auto seals on dry mode.
Answer: Yes I did too! Other than that it works great for me
Answer: Same here, I believe it's a defect.
Answer: You guys must be doing something wrong cuz I didn't have to touch anything

Product reviews of KOIOS Vacuum Sealer Machine, 80Kpa Automatic Food Sealer with Cutter for Food Savers, 10 Sealing Bags, With Up To 40 Consecutive Seals, Dry & Moist Modes, Compact Design (Silver)
Amy : Easy to operate
The vacuum sealer looks sleek and is easy to operate. It's wide enough to accommodate large bags. It has three buttons: seal only, dry/moist selection, and vacuum seal. When doing vacuum seal, the machine first vacuums to air from the bag, then it switches automatically to sealing and there is an indicator light when sealing. It's important to wait until the light goes off before pulling the bag out so bag is completely sealed. It comes with 10 precut bags of two sizes. The bags are thick enough for sou vides cooking.
C.S. : ****Read my update~don’t buy from them
*****UPDATE
second item didn’t work out of box, they claimed to send a new one but two weeks later, nothing. When they sent replacement before, they begged for a good review and then offers to send me money to buy and post good reviews. Wth? I think it’s a scam company.
I bought this months ago and must say that item is great. The vacuum sealer keeps food fresh or great for sous vide. The machine is easy to use and small enough to tuck in drawers.
I loved item because it was so easy to use. After a few months, the machine stopped working but KOIOS has great customer service, they offered an immediate replacement. They believe in their items and customer support.
Bookish : Updated 1-Star Review
Updated Review: After leaving a 1 star review, the seller contacted me and asked to send me a (free) replacement machine if I would re-evaluate the product's performance. The new machine is A LOT better! It's honestly like a completely different product. The suction is very good, a lot better than my other (cheaper) vacuum sealer.
I vac/sealed 3 vacuum seal bags with no problems or issues (1 moist and 2 dry). I then tried vac/sealing mylar bags of rice and (quite surprisingly) I didn't have any issues there either! I double seal, and sometimes triple seal, my mylar bags just to be on the safe side since they are for storing food for more than 20 years.
I'll try and remember to update in a year and let you know how the machine stands up to time.
Original One-Star Review: I was excited to get this as it was my first, very own vacuum sealer for my new home. I've used plenty of them through the years, so I know how they work and what to do. I tried to seal 5 items with this machine the day it was delivered. The first bag went okay, it took awhile for it to suction but it did remove the air and sealed it. Bags 2-5 were all failures. It would either suck all the air out and then fail to seal the bag or it would suck all the air, the vacuum suction would stop, and air would seep into the bag right before the machine sealed the bag. It's not user error, I've used these machines for years with no issues and I even broke out the instructions booklet to insure I was in fact doing everything correctly. I also had my boyfriend attempt to seal a couple bags and he couldn't get it to work either. I returned this product.
Haley Wakefield : Don't get it wet...
This is an awesome product for my Whole30 Meal Prepping! We were able to prep a TON of things and put them in the freezer in order to be most successful on this restriction diet. But, don't try to seal anything with a lot of juices, or it will stop the sealer! We sealed some raw beef, and the bloody juices got sucked into the sealer. I would suggest freezing the items first on a plate in the freezer, then put it in the sealing bags to vacuum.
Michael Molinaro : Poor design and performance
Did not seal automatically about half the time. Suction was low so it took a long time to evacuate the air from the bag before it could attempt to seal it. In most cases the bags needed to be sealed manually after the vacuum did not automatically switch to the seal mode.
AC : Great!
I ordered this after my third food saver stopped working. It had great reviews and thought I would give it a try. I am a bulk cooker. So I use it all day long and then don't use it again until about 6 months later. My first time using it I bagged 2 whole chickens, 6 chicken breast and 30 hamburger patties. This worked flawless ! It is easier to use than my last one, has better suction and seals better! I'm sold!! Takes up less room in my pantry too. I bought 2 by mistake but I'm keeping the other one for backup and because the price was so good! Also comes with an extra seal, very nice.
Sassy Mommy : Different settings and helps keep food fresh longer!!
Ok I just had weight loss surgery and I needed something that was going to help me meal prep and keep my food fresh longer. Especially since I can not eat much at all. This vacuum sealer has been amazing. There are 4 different settings depending on what I want to do and it comes with a set of sealing bags to start you off with. You can seal wet foods or dry foods and place them in the refrigerator or freezer. I love how fresh my fish and chicken are after sealing them!! Great for my meal prep purpose and a must have for my kitchen!!
pmsantafe : Good product for the money
This is a good machine for the price. The instructions are not clear at all & this was my first food seal system so I wasn't familiar. After some practice, easy enough to figure out but reading thru instructions 1st time - not clear. I bought this to vacuum seal a lot of fresh roasted green chile that we do every year. I put the suction on moist and it worked fine for 3-4 times but then no suction. Had to wait 5 minutes & then it would do maybe 2 more & then not. Wait 5 minutes and then it would do 2 bags and stop again. I had to do about 40 bags so that was probably more than it was designed for - not sure. When it suctioned right - it did a good job. I'm sure if I bought one for a lot more money (more than $100) then they probably would do more at a time. For this price, I feel it was a good deal and did the job. Just can't do a lot of moist vacuum sealing one right after the other but if you only have a few things at a time - works fine. Otherwise, just plan on waiting up to 5 minutes between vacuum seals.
I would recommend - good for the price - compact as well.
Goinbigger : Works as intended.
Was sceptical of some of the reviews when I saw they were offering free products in exchange for positive reviews. I intentionally did not submit a review until I had a chance to use it a few times with a variety of stuff and did not submit for any free products. I've done 10 lbs. of coffee beans, ~30lbs. of ground beef, bunch of veggies, some small med kits for camping and a few other small things. Also used the included vac bags and some other stuff that comes on a roll. Both seem to work equally well. I haven't had a single problem with the machine. A couple user errors like getting a coffee bean between the top and bottom so it wouldn't hold a vacuum. However the machine just won't seal until it can hold the vacuum. That's a nice feature. Vacuum is very strong. My bags of coffee beans are hard as a rock. Everything I've tried has worked very well. I've read a few reviews stating it pulls liquids into the machine. Think about this for a moment folks. You are pulling a strong vaccine on a liquid. Of course it will pull a liquid into the machine. Have you never used a straw? You can't exactly vacuum seal a soup in a bag and expect it to not pull liquid into the machine. Face meet palm. I have done some fairly moist veggies and fruits and had no issues. So I can only assume people are trying to vacuum seal liquids. My hope in society is dwindling. If you want to do liquids, they make vacuum containers exactly for that purpose. I haven't tried that yet but might in the future. Use it as intended and it has worked well so far. Can't really comment on longevity as I've only had it a short while. At this point I feel it's a very good machine for the price.
M Rogers : Did not Work
This sealer did not work at all. The only thing it does is make a loud noise for about three seconds and then blows a circuit. The seal option doesn't even heat up. I worked with Amazon and product support and they refused to send a new one unless I sent a video of the problem, which is sort of risky to keep plugging in a device that blows an electric circuit and can damage other devices as well. I also tried in another location and it did the same thing on a different circuit, again company did not seem to care and wanted me to keep doing it and send a video. Spend a few more dollars to get one of the many other brands available that doesn't make customers run through hoops for a simple problem.
T C : Perfect for sous vide.
I don’t write reviews often, but I’ve been so impressed with this vacuum sealer that I felt I had to write one.
It is compact and light. This concerned me at first, thinking that heft would mean better vacuum sealing power. I was wrong. It vacuums like a champ and continues to vacuum until the sealing begins. Other brands stop the vacuuming when the sealing begins and this lets some air back into the bag leaving a not totally vacuum sealed bag.
How I know this is when I open the bag, it is so sealed that there is a suction to the food that was created. I made some sous vide last night and the bag was hard to open after I cut it open. The two sides of the bag were right up against the ???? and created a very tight seal.
It was also very affordable. Wide sealing area. Could have had a better cord management system integrated into the machine, but I’m very happy overall. Would buy again and highly recommended.
Resume Ryan : Worth the Additional Investment, Works Like a Boss
I had taken the full tour of discount vacuum food sealers, trying 6 others before finally realizing I needed to pay a little more to get the quality I wanted and expected. I have used the product for almost a month and it works flawlessly. I've used it mainly for meat, but also some vegetables. It's super simple, surprisingly quiet by comparison to the competition, and makes a great seal. What I like the best is it keeps the vacuum pressure going while it seals so that no air is allowed to creep back in, ensuring a tight vacuum seal. My only complaint, and it's nitpicky, is that it reverts back to "dry" food mode every time it's unplugged. Other than that, it might be a little more expensive, but it is definitely worth it.
Jomama : I'm so glad I chose the Koios!
I received this vacuum sealer yesterday and had a freezer full of meat waiting to be re-packaged. I was able to seal it all up quickly and easily. I love, love, love this sealer! Only once did I encounter a slight problem: the vaccum worked great, but then it failed to seal. I think I had run too many packages too quickly. I waited about 30 seconds or so and tried again, and it worked perfectly. I now have a freezer full of protected meats that I'm planning to carry across the country in a Yeti with dry ice. I like to shop at Costco for meat, but since it's just my husband and I, I always need to freeze part of what I buy. Now I can do that without worrying about the dreaded freezer burn. If all of the meats I sealed up yesterday still look good in 6 or 8 weeks, I am considering buying a second vacuum for my vacation home. One of the things I really like is the ability to use rolls of packaging so I can cut the "bags" to custom sizes. I haven't yet tried the pump accessory, but it's nice that it was included. I like the little trimmer that's stored inside the unit. That made it very easy to cut the bags. I'd definitely recommend this product, especially since it was so much less expensive than other brands. The reivews were great, and I can now see why!
B.G. : Very practible machine for storing foods
This unit has plenty of suction. I've used bulk food saver bags and rolls and it works just fine. It helps to freeze juicy foods first to prevent liquids from sucking past the heat seal strip. It causes it to seal improperly and is not the fault of the vaccume sealer. Tip: leave two or three extra inches room in the bag. it will seal better than trying to seal an over stuffed bag. then flatten down the bag for compact storage in the freezer. On small draw back is that the lid can be a little hard to push down before sealing. Overall, I think this is a very nice machine and a value for the money.

Jim : Nice product and will save money
Used it twice. Once to seal pork chops and the other to seal chicken. Sealed pork chops like a champ by removing all the air. My wife and I also like to af a little marinade (Goya) to our chicken then seal it up. Think it would do the same as the pork chops I was wrong. It did pull some of the air it and sealed well. Thought it would suck all the air out and make a little mess, but did not. We sealed 3 chicken bags in total sl same results. Will be ok for the chicken in the freezer just not for a long time. Also just sealed up some bananas chips and it removed all the air. So maybe it is just really wet stuff it doesn't like. Great product, very easy to use and love the locking mechanisms on both side to get a good seal.
T. Cheung : A great compact vacuum sealer with good suction
We wasted too much food in our fridge by just ziplock. We got a smaller vacuum sealer early this year, but we returned it after trying it once. It just didn’t vacuum well before it sealed. I was very hesitate to buy another sealer, even the big brand name has poor reviews too. Recently I bought a KOIOS vacuum sealer base on the great reviews and users’ photos for the finished outcome. I received the sealer last Saturday and already tried packing thick cut steak and pizza, both with great result. I also like that it’s very compact in size and easy to store.
Melissa D : Love it! Everything I was hoping for!
I’m SO glad I decided to purchase THIS vacuum sealer! After reading tons of reviews and nearly paying 3x more for the “name brand” one, I just took a leap of faith & I'm so happy I did! This machine is easy to use straight out of the box, seals beautifully and is everything I hoped it would be! I only wish they would have included a roll of make your own bag (they did include 5 Qt size and 5 Gallon size premade bags) because I was so excited to seal EVERYTHING! Thankfully I had ordered some rolls at the same time but they came a day later! No biggie! Either way... JUST BUY IT! You can thank me later! ????
TSmith : Vacuum sealer that will impress
This vacuum sealer is really going to extend the shelf life of my food. I have sealed a bag of potato chips, cookies, and crackers with this sealer. The sealer looks nice on my countertop and is very easy to use. I watched a few videos on YouTube so I knew how to best use this product. This sealer will allow me to freeze fresh meat in portion-controlled amounts. I am also looking forward to vacuum sealing some chili to store in the freezer! This model has a moist/dry button to pick from so you can best freeze your foods. I am very impressed with the Koios vacuum sealer and look forward to using it. ** Tip **. Make sure the bag does not have any wrinkles where you are sealing it
Lisa S : Took a chance and I'm really happy
After reading reviews I thought I would give this version a shot over the main brand. I love it. It works really well and has sealed perfectly every time. I have had it almost 4 months and use it multiple times a week. It has done a great job or pulling the air out and nothing has gotten freezer burn. The only bad thing is to lock it you have to push down pretty hard on the 2 sides. This can be kinda hard to do alone if I am holding a heavy bag of something liquidly, like spaghetti sauce. I can do it alone but I usually just ask a kid for help.
AJ : Isn't what I expected vacuum and seal don't work all the time
I bought to seal meat in the freezer, Everyone brag about how much long the meat will last. 75% of the time the vacuum will not work and 25 % of the time the seal will not work. It take me 3-4 bag to get one vacuum & sealed. What a waste of money for the bags, they are not cheap. I'm sealing frozen meat so its not because of the moisture. I make sure the bags are in right and no wrinkles. I even wipe of the opening after I put the meat in, doing inside and out and still it take 3+ time most of the time. After 10 lbs of hamburger I've got 2 seal the first time right. I've wiped of the sealing parts, its clean!!! I've tried 3 different days and its still the same. I'm disappointed in it. It's easier and less time to just use the zip-lock bags. "Done in minutes instead of 30 minutes to maybe get 5 good bags sealed. Planning on returning if they can figure out why it doesn't work. Not sure how much noise they are suppose to make but mine does make some noise.
steve : .01 star will not recommend due to waste of money and bags that only seal at random.
Despite the fact that it says it will seal food with liquid(fruits, sauces, and kind of food that may contain any type of liquid substance), every time I try to seal fresh sliced fruits, it pulls the juices into the machine. This makes a mess both inside and outside of the processor, but also on the counter. Very labor intensive if you are going to be using it for large batches of food. I now have to start the vacuum process using 1 bag then putting that bag inside another bag, except upside down the start the vacuum process and sealing on the 2nd bag. This is not only, wasteful, expensive, and time consuming. Another issue is that when sealing dry goods, it will vacuum but not seal. I then have to cut the bag down and start again. Would not recommend. Will be purchasing a new and better one soon.
Colorado mountains : I like it!
Does a great job! Pretty easy to use. Love the warranty program with chat through Messenger. A few notes: when cutting a large bag down to 2 smaller bags, you only need to put 1/2 inch or so on top of the gold heating bar on the bottom, close the top, and press "Seal." When actually sealing food, its best to slide the bag the full inch or so until it stops at the black plastic tabs, then press down HEAVILY on the silver top, until the two side plastic tabs "click" and then select "Vacuum + Seal" - make sure you have already selected "dry" for completely dry food (don't know what that could be - trail mix maybe?) or more likely "moist" for chicken pieces, steak, hamburger, etc. OK, 2 other notes: (1) don't be stingy with the bag size. You need a good 2 inches of bag after the edge of the food, and (2) if you are loading "moist " food (meaning any meat), putting your meat into the bag will make the inside of the bag moist. YOU MUST DRY OFF THE INSIDE OF THE BAG above the food or it will not seal. Napkin works fine.
James Townsend : Saves your Bulk Items
Got this item to replace our previous seeler that finally gave up. This was about half the price of what we expected to pay for the level of item needed. So, I was a bit hesitant. However, it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. We put it to work the same night by vacuum individually sealing a bulk purchase of boneless chicken breasts. It was quick and easy once we got the hang of it. The buttons are straight forward. But, getting the bag lined up and free of any moisture, at the point of sealing was a bit tricky at first. This gadget worked very well once we got it going, but it did present itself as being a bit pickier in it's operations compared to high dollar vacuum sealers. If you were to use this daily, I would say, save yourself a bit of the headache and go for a better model. But, if you only use it perhaps twice a month after a bulk grocery trip, it does the job to satisfaction. It did come with some bags for sealing, as a "starter pack" type thing. So, we will have to get more. Once we see the results given from using other brand sealer bags, I can update my review more thoroughly. Overall, nice gadget for the occasional user.
Happicamper : Saves time, money and space!
First time purchasing and using a vacuum sealer. I’m so happy with this machine. I chose it bcc of the great reviews and it definitely lives up to the hype! The directions are useless so, YouTubed it and started sealing in seconds. We sealed fresh asparagus and blueberries. Then fresh fish and steaks, (tip: freeze the fish and meat prior to sealing to avoid any juices getting sucked into the machine). It is so nice to buy from the”big box” store without wasting expensive, quality food! I think this will definitely cut our food bill 25-30% and save trips to the store. Also, we have a tiny freezer so, I took our frozen boxed food out of their boxes, cut out the heating instructions, slid everything in a bag and resealed. It only took 5 minutes, and the result: It saved SO much room in our freezer and now we can find everything too!

Trevor Most : Great Sealer With Options
I was EXTREMELY impressed with this vacuum sealer! As a past user of a much more popular brand (FS), I stopped using that brand due to a lack of sealing ability. I decided to give it another shot with a different brand worth good reviews..... Needless to say, I am back in the vacuum sealing mode for bulk purchases! This sealer will seal wet or dry & has additive locking latches which my previous brand did not. Definitely an upgrade in my opinion! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to have a high quality sealer with full functionality and better performance than the other brands. Definitely a satisfied customer here
Bookish : Updated 1-Star Review
Amazon Customer : It will do the job.
I needed something that wasn't expensive but could keep my food from going bad. I like to buy in bulk since the cost is cheaper than constantly buying little by little at the market but we don't go through the food fast enough. I spent 4 hours packaging all the food into bags and really test this machine out. I used it on large meats, fruit, veggies, bread and even herbs.
Pros: 1. Its not the cheapest nor is it the most expensive. It was between this one and Amazon's top choice for one that was only $20 which had decent reviews. 2. Its not really bulky and can fit in a drawer IF you dont have anything else in it. 3. Works Fast 4. Can do multiple items back to back with out waiting in between.
Cons: 1. It's not as slim as the cheaper models for storage. 2. There isn't a option to hold the "suction" for as long as YOU want, its pretty much timed for about 30 sec-1 min and it automatically switches to "Seal" to close the bag. I used this on fruit, and the first few bags crushed the fruit completely as well as my bagels. 3. If you're using the storage rolls to make your own "bags" you really have to guess to what is too much room and too little "excess" at the ends because the machine will just continue to pull the air out forever if you dont stop it.
** After 1 week of all my items being stored and finally opening some of them***
->The fruit I sealed and placed in the freezer tasted fine after using them for a frozen smoothie, however I wouldn't recommend doing this and then thawing it to eat like "fresh fruit". The juices from the fruit were squeezed out from the machine which made a syrup like bubble around the fruit. ->My herbs were well preserved. Separate them into sections for best results instead of trying to store a bunch at once. ->My veggies had a slight watery residue after unsealing the package. I'm not sure if it was because they were not dried after washing them completely or if it was because the machine didnt completely pull ALL the air from the bag and left room for condensation to develop. -> So far no frost has developed on the meat I've stored. -> The bagels I saved were crushed from the air being pulled out, but if you stop the suction mid way and press the "seal" button before it gets crushed it will work just fine.
I would recommend the "TWO ROLLS" of plastic that Amazon recommends to make your own bags. Its less expensive that pre package bags, and you can make any size you want. I've barely used half a roll when I packaged, 3 Large containers of fruit, 5 different herbs, 5 different veggies, 13 bagels, 2 racks of ribs, 4 different packages of chicken.
This would be a good buy if you are looking for something that does the job, but isn't professional grade vacuum sealer. It's not the cheapest, but its not crazy expensive. This was still worth the buy. There was so many to choose from online, but after everything this was still my #1 choice.

rstonepal : This is NOT toy :)
My husband bought this for me as I have wanted one for many years. This little machine is so easy to use. You put in the bag of stuff, close the lid and hit the button. It extracts the air and seals the bag so just open the lid and take out the sealed stuff. When I say this is not a toy, try extracting the air out of a muffin. The first thing I put on here was a fresh muffin that just tasted weird. The system removed enough air to basically flatten the muffin. Now, I flatten all types of things just to see what happens. It is like food art. This is a very nice machine and worth having if you seem to have a lot of left overs and guilt at throwing them out. I have canaries and give them fresh vegetables every morning. Produce seems to go gross and rotten after 1 day of a bag being opened. I parceled out small portions of vegetables and made them flat. Seems to be good when you open the plastic. Neat and fun machine.
GiosHS : Very pleased with this vacuum sealer! Definitely recommend it.
With the pandemic and concerns about being able to get supplies, I started buying some items in bulk and wanted to be able to store them so they would retain freshness, especially meats that can easily get freezer burn. I read a lot of reviews on sealers and was having a hard time deciding which to get. I was not sure if I needed to get a large one for power, but I did not want something really big that I would use infrequently since then it would be taking up space on my counter or sitting in storage where I would not want to go through the hassle of getting it out to seal a small number of items. I was also wary of what I heard was a high volume of fake or purchased reviews by sellers.
I took the dive on the Koios last May and have been really happy with it. It does not have a big footprint or take up space, so I can store it when not in use and easily get it out even for one or two quick seals, and it works great!
I have used it for dry items (rice, nuts, popcorn), for meats, and for wet items (we prep and freeze a year's worth of hatch chilis every year) - anything I want to keep fresh longer. The process works smoothly and quickly. I buy meat in larger, less expensive quantities and then vacuum seal and freeze smaller sizes. It is easy to take out a bag of frozen chicken, for example, throw the bag as is into water with a sous vides while I go back to work, and it comes out ready to eat with no further effort! If I want to prepare it in a different way, I take it out the night before and it defrosts in the fridge without dripping all over the shelf. And the best thing is that meat not only stays high quality in the freezer, it no longer gets freezer burn. Everything I have sealed has stayed sealed with no air leakage.
I waited to write a review until enough time had passed to really give it a workout and I have no reservations in recommending it.
Jack—tech geek extraordinaire : NO BUILT-IN CUTTER, just a little hand-held blade
Vacuum sealers like this work great, but there's one problem to them: The bags must be cut by hand. Much of the time I end up cutting them crooked or jagged, which makes the bags difficult to use in the machine. This product claims to have a "Built-In Cutter", which seems like a great feature. But instead, it turns out to be nothing but a hand-held blade to cut your bags with. I already own a pair of scissors, thanks.
I never do business with companies which lie about their products to trick people into buying them. I won't be buying anything from KOIOS ever again. Their more expensive $65 model does include an actual built-in cutter you slide across the bag as it rests in the machine. So this company clearly knows what a *real* built-in cutter is--and it's not a little hand-held blade for you to cut your own crooked bags with.
Once I saw what their so-called "built-in cutter" actually was, I packed everything up and returned it to Amazon for a full refund. Thank-you Amazon, for your A-Z Warranty!!!
*** UPDATE *** After posting this review, KOIOS offered me a bribe to change it. That's right, a BRIBE! This was the second time a Chinese company on Amazon offered me something in exchange for lying about their product. Apparently this is a common practice in China. No wonder they make so much junk. Now I know why this product is rated highly. Being dishonest apparently pays off nowadays. I guess it makes sense with so many liars running our country. We're all following our leaders, and accepting dishonesty as a normal thing now.
Amazon Customer : It is durable
I am new to vacuum sealers I have never owned one. This vacuum sealer for the price is amazing it does a great job vacuum sealing my beef jerky. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to buy it.

S. Mullis : Dealing garden and orchard produce is no problem with this!
Have used this for two months. Very pleased with it's performance. I have pushed it to its limits. As other reviewers state, very wet product gives you some issues. I am dealing fresh fruit now, and I run it on dry, watch for signs of the juices moving up to the dealing area, then force the manual seal to deal before the juice interrupts the heat dealer and leaves you with a partial seal. Also if you are breading sliced veggies to vacuum seal, bread in a separate container, then place the veggies in your dealing bag to prevent dust from interfering with the seal. Very very pleased with the vacuum sealer. It is easy to use, simple to clean, stable and sturdy.
Steve K : Insufficient Vacuum power on 4th bag
Regardless of the willingness of the supplier to probably send me another unit, if I buy something that fails to work properly after the 4th use, I lose far too much confidence to try another (1 trip to the UPS store to return is enough). On that 4th bag, the "Vacuum & Seal" just vacuumed, and did not seal (similarly noted by some other reviewers). I liked the price, but will go back to Food Saver, which costs far more but lasted a long time. I also bought a Crenova, but it failed after about 15 bags...and I don't use these more than 15-20 bags per year.
Drew : Dissapointed and returning
Suction power is lacking and bubbles seem to need to be pressed out most of the time. Sealer does not initiate 50% of the time after vacuuming, see attached video. You can easily press seal after the vacuum and seal button short cycles but air gets back in, affecting freshness and absence of oxygen levels.
PlantsGalore : Quick and Easy
I have to say I have been overdue for a new food sealer. I used to have to put ALL my weight on it, to latch it. I have lot of health issues and nerve damage in my hands, so to have some ease using a sealer is great.THIS ONE Is SO easy to use, and the little cutter that is tucked inside is really helpfull as well. I have used the sealer at least 30 times already, and no problems.
R. Wallace : Good value sealer, but annoying request for 5-star review
After receiving repeating emails from the seller offering me a free 4k action camera in exchange for a 5-star review, I thought I'd write a 4-star review and make readers aware that all 5-star reviews for this product are suspect. I'm sure most are honest, but all are suspect due to the actions of the seller.
Nevertheless, here's my experience with and review of the KOIOS VS2233:
This is a very decent vacuum sealer, especially for the price. I have been using it almost daily since I purchased it - mostly for sous vide cooking, but also for packaging food for freezer storage. I typically use it with FoodSaver brand bag rolls (I have a bunch), but have used it with "heavy-duty" bag rolls, too.
There are features I would have preferred to see, but they're reserved for the higher-priced KOIOS model. I'd have liked to see a removable vacuum tray to make cleaning easier. I'd have also liked an "inching" or manual vacuum function, but that can be roughly simulated by starting and stopping the Vacuum&Seal operation. None of this is a surprise and didn't affect my rating; I knew these features were not on this model.
BTW, I have not used it to seal "chip" bags. Honestly, binder clips work very well for that task and are readily available from the office. ;)
I do have a few specific gripes about the VS2233:
The Vacuum&Seal (auto seal) function continues sucking on a vacuum long after all air has been removed. Eventually it's satisfied and seals the bag. I don't know if the lengthy suck session indicates a poorly adjusted sensor or if it just cuts off after a fixed time, but it's annoying. When it does this, I usually jut press the manual Seal button to stop the vacuum and immediately seal the bag.
Another minor complaint I have is the excessive grip strength needed to latch the lid. I find I often have to grip the front corners and squeeze fairly hard to get both sides to latch. And while the release is very easy with the two side buttons, I worry about eventual wear on the latches.
Things I like: In general, it works well. I found it to be a good value - worth the money.
It wasn't broken on arrival; it was brand new and wasn't soiled or used - a plus. These conditions are expected but are not always a given, even when "Fulfilled by Amazon." [I once bought a "new" rice cooker here, FBA, that arrived filthy and with cooked rice still in the bowl.]
In particular, I liked: The heat-sealer part worked very well. It powered through a bit of water on the bag without problems, even on Dry food mode. It also sealed the slightly thicker "heavy-duty" bags that two of my previous vacuum sealers had real problems with. Examination of the seals made by the VS2233 showed a wide, uniform seal across the entire length of the bag.
I first thought the little cutter included with and stored in a slot in the sealer was a bit of a gimmick. Just use scissors to cut the bags, right? But I found the cutter to be convenient and practical. I also get straighter and cleaner cuts with it than with scissors for some reason.
The vacuum motor is certainly strong enough (and loud enough) to draw a good vacuum and it does a fine job. Other sealers I've owned would cut off the motor automatically before I was truly satisfied. This one is more satisfying - possibly related to that vacuum sensor adjustment I complained about earlier.
Overall, I really like this vacuum sealer. I've gone through a couple of other "value" sealers that didn't work very well, or for very long. I'm glad I found this one - it works as I would expect and it appears sturdy enough to last. I'll know for sure in a few more months.
Tori : Does not vacuum or seal.
We bought this because of the amazing reviews it received, but the product did not live up to the reviews. We recently bought a bunch of fresh meat and wanted to portion it out into smaller serving sizes now that there are just two people in the house. We started trying to vacuum seal the meat and it took us multiple attempts to get the machine to actually vacuum and seal the bags. Sometimes, it would only partially vacuum. Other times, it would not vacuum seal at all. The machine would run and seal itself, but not remove the air from the bag. For every one successful vacuum and seal, we had 3-4 failures. We followed all the instructions and even went through all the troubleshooting steps we found online, but nothing seemed to help. We also could not find one specific technique that worked. It just seemed completely random as to whether or not it would work. I would not recommend this product. Additionally, it took some significant pressure to even close the machine for sealing. If you needed to seal a number of bags, it could get really difficult.
Rebekah M Gibbs : Works great I am really pleased.
I love everything about this. I just wanted something to keep the air out of my frozen foods. I have recently started making my own dog food so it's important that I can freeze without the ice burn. I could not figure out how to get it to shut tight where you hear the click. My husband came in and it clicked one side at a time and it worked. There are not instructions but they are quick to answer any questions you have. Good customer service. I still am not sure when to use dry or moist setting but I am going to text the customer service. They get back with you right away. Good to order the bags that they have for this machine. The other ones you have to cut and seal both ends. The one with this machine comes already closed at one end.
KJ : Great Machine for the Price
I had purchased a different more costly product prior to this purchase falsely assuming that the more expensive the better the product. As it turned out, it was defective (Food Saver V4840)/(the auto suction does not work!) I returned it to Amazon seamlessly and thought to purchase a less expensive one to see if there really was a difference. I purchase the Koios and it worked like a charm the first time. The second time I couldn't get the auto sealer to work but after speaking to their great customer service department I will be getting a replacement model. It's possible it may have been defective but the speed and willingness of the customer service department to take care of me was an exceptional experience. Their warranty is long + I purchased an Assurian warranty as well. I would have purchased another one their products because it is that simple to use w/o out the fancy gimmickry that is subject to fail. I need it to do two things: vacuum and seal and I'm confident my replacement will do just that.
Angelwings2ltd : So far, Its Good
Everything is working fine. You need to make sure you get the bag in just far enough to get the vacuum to work right. But there is always a learning curve for new things.
This machine is better than others I have tried in the past, and the price is reasonable. . . .
I have had issues with the side locks. Its a bit hard to press to get it to lock. I have nerve issues in my hands, & got this brand/model after reading a review from a buyer who had similar probs with their hands, and how this model was not an issue for them. - - The good news is you do not have to lock the sides, when you just want to seal the bags! I make several bags, in assorted sizes, in advance of my filling & vacuum sealing.
I just wish manufacturers would make the side locks easier to latch. After all, it is the hooked clip that actually makes it latch. My recommendation for the manufacturer, is to use a weaker spring on the mechanism. It would be easier for people to press the ends to get it to lock. - - - but that is just My opinion.
B.J. : quiet small works great will order again if needed customer servive very suppotive.
I had a different kind before so this one is different was surprised so of course so settings meant different things. Very easy to use but it did pull too much fluid and had a hard time sealing but I was filling it to full. I need to experiment and get all settings for the things I usually use it for. I love it , it is so quiet you can actually hear. and so small but seals as good as the great big one. good suction power that was probably better. Very impressed with it. will spread the word. the company seems to be great. full year warranty. which is very rare unless you pay. you will not be disappointed.
Dadn8r : Impressed!
This unit is light weight but seems plenty sturdy. I tried it on the included bags as well as some FS bags and they all sealed perfectly every time. The vacuum is strong but quiet. It comes with an included accessory hose with fittings that fit tightly in the accessory port but a little loose in my FS accessories. It's an easy mod to make a hose that works in both the KOIOS and the FS accessories by swapping a fitting from your old FS or a new FS accessory hose.
I've gone through three FS units over several years. The last one, even though it was automatic and had lots of bells and whistles, suffered from a vacuum that was temperamental and the sealing was often sub-par. I often had to reinsert bags and reseal. I am pleased to say my new KOIOS already works better than my FS when it was brand new.
