Answer: The pole has dents at the bottom that lock with the horizontal bar (pin) inside the rod holder. Notice that not all rod holder have this horizontal bar(pin) inside.

Answer: I own a 26 ft. Baha Cruiser and all of the rod holders are tilted. The oceans bait and filet table has a slotted base allowing you to rotate the shaft and lock into position. The top has a swivel attached to the shaft that allows you to level the table with a tightening knob.

The price was right. It worked well this weekend on its first use on my boat. Fit right into my vertical rod holder. It’s stable enough to do most of my baiting and cutting. The only suggestion I have for people is to still use a small cutting board since the table is plastic. I do love that it has the plier and knife holder as well as places to keep my lures and other small things. Definitely recommend it if you’re on a budget and want something you can remove and store.

The Bait/Fillet cutting board when mounted in the rod holder is tilted towards the floor of the boat not over the gunnel so the bait juice will drain overboard not onto the floor of the boat or onto the side of the gunnel.

Just purchased this as a gift for my bait-catching-as-a-business partner and wanted to say the complaints others have about the “weird angles” and drainage issue are not the problem of this item, it’s oblivious human syndrome that causes the problems. Watch the VIDEO for this item about how to set up the angle for placement in your particular rod holder and you should not have a problem. Will probably come back and buy the larger version, even though this “smaller” one is plenty large enough unless you’re after large game.

Really useful design with trays / pockets to catch stuff you would otherwise lose with other products. Does double duty as a service tray for meals if maintained properly, so it's not just for bait.
