Can the handle be changed from side to side?

Answer: Read the description and you’ll find your answer

How do you change the handle. The threads are different on each side. And the threading protrudes so far on the right the side the cap wont fit.

Answer: I have no idea and mine came with no instructions. The box had the part numbers printed on it. Possibly you could go on UTube and someone could tell you. Thankfully I don't have to change mine. Sorry.

Are these sealed for salt water?

Answer: Good for fresh water but I would not recommend it for salt .its a great reel and very smooth.

Answer: I have used one for about 20 hours a week for the last year for nothing but inshore fishing in the gulf of Mexico. As long as you rinse it and oil it one of the best reels you can get

Is this reel braid ready, or do I need to use a monofilament backing?

Answer: You can used mono backing or put a piece of electrical tape around the spool before spoiling with braid.

Answer: In my opinion it is not. The spool is very smooth and I put monofiliment on prior to the braid as a precaution.

Amazon Customer : Great overall but...

I bought the 2500 and loved it then bought this 1000 size for panfish. It’s super smooth and light for sure, great value for what it’s price at. But just like the 2500 I had to add a spacer to the spool or the line will bunch up on top of the spoil, but for the 1000 size, if the spool is at the highest point, your bail will hit when you open it to cast. There were a number of times I would be surprised how many times I’ve hit them together not even realizing that the spool was up. So only 4 stars, but still it’s a really smooth and light reel.

This reel is one of those “great value for the money” spinning reels - which just happened to be what I wanted when I purchased it.
The Amazon price of $65 is fifteen bucks below retail and a bargain considering it features a screw-in handle, along with many other “trickle-down” technologies found in Daiwa’s most expensive reels.
This is the third Exceler model I’ve owned since the early 2000s, and each of them has performed flawlessly, without any negative issues. If you’re looking for a reel in this price range, this is without question one of the best, if not absolutely the best, options out there

The reel functions well. It seems as if it takes more effort than it should to trip the bail after casting but other than that I like it.

probably the best spinning reel I ever used. Very smooth operation and a solid drag, all under 7oz. Got the Excelled 1000D this week and fishing with it was great. One caution about all the new Daiwa LT reels, do not overfill the spool. Needs to be 1/16 to 3/32 below the rear lip of the spool. If you overfill, loops can get thrown over the spool skirt causing multiple problems. Properly filled, no problems.

Excellent small reel! This reel model is almost identical to the lower Legalis LT series, except for the way the crank handle mounts to the body. It screws directly into the reel, whereas the Legalis crank stem goes through the reel and secures with a threaded knob screw. Because of this, the Exceler's crank handle has less wobble and keeps the reel less prone to water intrusion.

As a side note, didn't see any place to leave a delivery review, so I'll comment here. Amazon delivery left my package on the wall at the top of my driveway. His delivery statement said it was handed directly to a resident.
My delivery instructions were to leave it on the front porch. I watched remotely as he just left it ON the wall, in view of the street.
