Als 20 considered a ultra light size ?

Answer: Personally I consider a size 10 (100yds/4lb) to be ultralight. A size 20 (110yds/6lb) is light. Alaris does not come in a size 10 but the Okuma Ignite comes in a 10. Great little reel too.

Answer: Ultra light as in 2-4lbs rateing No. But it is a light weight reel and Yes you can string it with 2-4lbs mono line I’m sure. It’s a NICE reel for the money! Someone I bought an Ultralight rod from suggested this reel it was a reel he owned great drag & surprisingly smooth.

Answer: would depend on what you are fishing for, but I like the 40

Answer: Depends on the area and conditions. The 40 will hold more line, so you might be able to spool it sufficiently with a higher diameter line, if needed. I used braid on mine in Iceland, off the rocks in Reykjavik. Held plenty of line, and held up to 24” cod.

Very good build quality, especially at this price point. Feels strong when reeling big fish in, no issues whatsoever. Drag is solid. I have PP 20lb test on it... fish hook up, and don't let go. I have the reeI matched up with a Berkley Amp medium action. I caught 3 peacock bass on my 2nd outing with this rig.

Wow. This reel performs way above its price. It’s smooth, the drag is silky and it holds. I bought this new to take to Iceland and fish the shore. It looks great, a bit small for my purpose, but I paired it successfully with a telescopic 8ft rod. I loaded it with spider wire braid, locked down the drag and it fired out 60-75yds. Shore angling in Iceland is a no-brainer, bait and weight, but the pressure that comes from catching is somewhat extreme. Shore caught cod can go to 14lbs. Most are around 5lbs. Double hook rig could get 8-12 lbs of fish. This reel handled that. I think you’ll love it.
