Lew’s BB1 Pro Speed Spool
The Lew’s BB1 Pro Speed Spool is ready to impress. From its stylish good looks to its new QuietCast braking system, the BB1 Pro is re-defining what performance is all about. The BB1 Pro features a premium 10-bearing system with double shielded ball bearings and a Zero-Reverse anti-reverse. The reel has a one-piece aluminum frame with graphite sideplates, and has a quick release sideplate for easy maintenance. The externally adjustable 6-pin, 27 position QuietCast delivers an extreme range of braking power without the noise normally associated with centrifugal brake systems. Adjustments are easily made from free spool to maximum by simply clicking the reel’s external dial to choose among the 27 variable cast control settings.

What’s the difference bw this model and the other BB1 with gold on it?
Answer: I don’t know which one you are referring to. I can tell you, this one casts a mile. Farther than my Lews Mach Crush and my Shimano SLX. The sellers included all original parts and manuals in the box. Not really worth spending more on a reel than this one, it is about as good as you can get!

I've got two of these and they are awesome Reels. I ordered to have a third but someone did a switcharoo. S__t happens but still love ya Amazon. If you're looking at the reel buy it you will not be disappointed, one of the smoothest best casting Reels I've used.

I've been using baitcasters primarily for nearly all my fishing for about 50 years; settled in with mostly Shimano Curados which served me well up until the last couple I purchased. This Lew's BB1 Pro is the 1st Lew's reel I've bought in over 30 years. It's a great reel in most respects: easy to adjust, great casting, l ots of distance, etc. I would have given it 5 stars but... last time out after a few hours of hard casting into the wind, using braid with a mono leader (back to back Uni Knots) my braid to leader knot let go on a particularly hard cast. This resulted in something I've never experienced or witnessed in all my years of fishing: when the line snapped and the lure was no longer pulling line out I got the Mother of All Backlashes. This is to be expected under the circumstances. What was not expected is that the side plate of the reel popped right off and the spool flew out! Luckily they both landed in the boat rather than over the side, so after some re-rigging I was able to resume fishing.

Absolutely love this reel. Very smooth. nce it’s set you’ll have minimal backlash. I bought for use as a magnum crankbait reel but also works extremely well as a swim bait reel. I bought in the 6.4:1and lined it with 12# Invizx Flurocarbon.

This purchase is my second Lew’s baitcaster reel and I couldn’t be more thrilled with its performance. My first BB1 is three years old and performs like it did the day I bought it. I’m certain this reel will perform just as well.

Bought the BB1 Pro Speed Spool, model # PRS1XHZ from my local bait shop. Was very excited to have a new reel as they always work so much smoother than older rods in your rod locker. First day of fishing with this "wonderful" new reel and the side plate just falls off in the water and sinks before my eyes. Brand new reel now worthless. Went back to my local baitshop where they indicated they could not process the warranty but that I would need to contact Lew's directly and gave me the phone number. Went home and called the number only to have a person answer and explaining no one was in the office to handle call due to the virus. So I send an email on 7/20/20 explaining my problem only to receive an automated response indicating they regretted to inform me that response times were slow due to the virus and that I should expect 45 days for a response but how their response time was getting better. I wasn't happy but decided to just move on and accept this response which results in an extended period of time that I would not be able to use my brand new reel that I just spent @200 on. and by this time was rather aggravated
So, I waited 60 days and still no response. Sent a follow up email on 9/24/20 expressing my frustration on how long it was taking to even get a basic response. It's now been another week and Lew's is yet to respond with anything more that the automated response.
I have 7 Lew's rods reels and have had good luck with them but now that I have an issue, Lew's is just flat ignoring me. C'mon Lew's, I thought you were better than this. No more Lew's products going in my boat

Casts very smooth Reel will cast a mile and it is also great for pitching / close quarters fishing. Very easy to fine tune adjust the settings based on the type of lure and fishing you are doing. I will be buying more of these reels.
