The Yoyito

A simple handline reel 3.5 in diameter by 1 in thick, capable of landing anything from freshwater bream to bull reds and groupers offshore.

We took a rod and spinning reel and removed anything that was not absolutely necessary to perform the basic functions: casting, retrieving, sensitivity and the ability to fight big fish. The Yoyito is the result of years of design and experimentation, the essence of a fishing system that is tried and true.

Answer: That I know for a fact. ABSOLUTELY NOT. solid aluminum. Dropped mine in the reservoir I fish, sank like a rock

What's the difference between the nickel and gold (other then the color)?

Can I use 17 pound test fluorocarbon line with this?

Answer: I use 10 and 12 pound test on mine,17 pound test shouldn’t be any problem

Answer: Yes, you can use any line weight you'd like. I personally use 17lb on sufix siege on these reels often.

Answer: I am currently using 20lbs back line with a 10lbs leader line. It works great.

Saw previous video of this product. Liked it. Works well as a simple packable fishing system to get the line and baitinto the water. Works great for tight spots where a rod and reel are impractical. Takes practice to learn how use.

I love this thing, I can’t wait until I get a chance to go fishing with it again. Fish weren’t biting much but still got a bluegill on it.

Why I bought this over the less expensive plastic fishing yo-yos? It is aluminum, has finger holes, can be attached to a bow for bow fishing, the set and forget hole comes in real handy when you have to tie it off to a limb to untangle a child’s reel. Also can be used to turn it into a survival trot line, and a few double uni knots you can retie all the other line you used to set up other trot lines. It is simple, light, and fills a much needed gap in the survival bag(although it is going into the get home bag with a small fishing kit). I have been fishing since I was my sons age and he turned 8, mainly ultralight gear for smaller sunfish species. And now I get to pass those skills on to my son. With this Yoyito I don’t have to drag the almost 30 year old tackle box around places to catch fish, never did but always did anyway. I get to focus on fishing again, rather than 40 different bait color choices, 80 different techniques to use them with. Nope, not anymore, a few hooks, some bait, and the line in the water, and a chance to pass the torch to my son.

Not gonna lie, it's definitely not the cheapest, but, the quality of the reel, and the pouch, are definitely worth the price, I've got over 100+ rod and reels, like 20 different Cuban yoyos, a couple hobo handlines, pen fishing rods, ronco pocket fishermens,emmrods, every random fishing gadget you can think of, but this one, this one the second I seen it I wanted it. It fits in my pocket, it's the only fishing gadget that ACTUALLY fits in my pocket. Sure, others may, but this one is comfortable. It is literally the only gadget that I ALWAYS will have on me. So to me, it makes the price worth it. What's the point of a travel fishing gadget, if it can't travel.

Fed Up : Yoyito

This is a very nice product. Little expensive, but designed and made in the USA! That means something to me. Rather pay a little more for a USA made product.

Have some 30lb test mono on it now, but may trade for some braided in the future. Plan on keeping it in my pack. Been more than a few hikes into the high country where we spotted fish jumping or swimming by close to shore in beautiful mountain lakes. We all said we wished we had a pole with us.

With the Yoyito I will have a small lightweight option to get a hook and bait into the water. I have even seen videos of people using lures with it.

Have not actually used it fishing yet, but did some practice casts. Sure it will work good on piers too.

May try and make a wrist lanyard out of 550 cord just in case. Hate to be surprised by a nice hit and watch my Yoyito disappear into the water LOL.
