Questions about Cadence CB8 Baitcasting Reels, 6.7 Ounce Ultra Lightweight Casting Reels,20 Pounds Carbon Fiber Drag Baitcasters,Super Smooth 9+1 BB,Stronger Aluminum Body Durable Baitcast Fishing Reel Low Profile High Value
Q:
Is the star drag suppose to have a little play when you move it side to side?
Answer: This is the only thing on this reel that does not apparently have tight tolerances. I also notice some up and down play on the star, but it does not prevent reel from really good drag performance. I set the drag to my need - and live with it. Drag is smooth and cast great. It's not one of my Curado's but the price point for performance can't be beat. We'll see how it holds up this season - but so far I'm very pleased.
Answer: I’m not sure what "move side to side" means. There is no play in mine when l rotate it in either direction
Q:
Is there a blue accent color on the reel?
Answer: No, no accents at all, solid black.
Answer: I own two of these and they're both black.
Answer: Yes.
Q:
Does he handle have some play in cb8? because i have a cb6 and it reels fine.
Answer: No, to me it does not "some play"
Q:
Does the spool make noise when cast?
Answer: I’ve not experienced any strange noises with my reel. It casts incredibly well, the retrieve on it is super smooth and noise free, the spool tension adjustment is incredibly simple, and the star drag adjusts with a very pleasing and audible click. No mine doesn't make any noise when I cast.
Answer: Yes
Q:
I don't think this is a metal frame but it's advertised on amazon as "stronger aluminum body durable baitcast fishing reel" am i missing something ?
Answer: you are correct in your thinking ,this reel does have aluminum its only on the gearing and handle side plate it isn't a totally aluminum frame but none the less its an excellent reel for the money
Q:
Does it have a bait clicker?
Answer: no bait clicker on any of their baitcasting reels
Answer: No it doesn’t have a clicker on it but it is a really good reel. Casts great and reels very smoothly.
Answer: No it doesn’t, not sure of any low profile baitcaster that does have one
Answer: Nope but a great little reel however.
Answer: No it does not, but it is a good reel for the price.
Answer: No it doesn't, but it is one of the best fishing reels that I have ever used?
Answer: No. At least not on the model I have.
Answer: No it does not
Q:
When will you have the 7.3:1 gear ratio model available on Amazon? Currently no option for high gear model.
Q:
What is the little switch on the left underneath the magnet adjustment?
Answer: This is the lever that releases the side plate and then allows removal of the spool for service.
Answer: It is the release latch to remove the side plate.
Answer: That is the latch to take the side plate off.
Q:
Can i leave these outsides in the sun? and are they waterproof? basically, can i just keep these outside all the time?
Answer: Not waterproof
Q:
Is this reel suited for saltwater fishing?
Answer: Its small for ocean but could be used in inlets or land casting to ocean . you couldnt put on too large of Test .150 yards of line on spool.i only fish lakes and rivers.but think parts are Stainless , comp. its small for larger fish 10 pound if Lucky i hope it answers question
Answer: Yes, it can be used in saltwater I use it for snook jacks speckled trout and small tarpon just be mindful of the fact the CB8 isnt a saltwater proof reel
Answer: I use this reel for fishing for bass and crappie.
Answer: Yes
Q:
I have a cb8 reel, i put 92 yrds of 40lb braid on it, has anyone had problems with the line breaking while casting? same line, same spool, 7 other ree
Answer: please check your rod guides inserts sometimes cracks will form so as you cast and retrieve the line will become frayed and eventually break
Q:
Whats a good ratio to buy for saltwater fishing?
Answer: A good gear ratio range for saltwater would 5.1 to 7.3 depending on style and application of fishing
Q:
Brakes do not seem to work unless they are at the highest level, or near highest level. Anyone else have this issue?
Answer: I have 5 reels without that problem. Contact Cadence ASAP. I had a weird rub in a CS7 3000 and they replaced it within a few days without issue. Also, what diameter and type of line do you have spooled on? 25+ pound flouro will run like crap on such a compact spool.
Answer: Not at all. Mine works flawlessly.
Q:
Is this reel saltwater approved?
Answer: Thank you for your question! Cadence CB8 fishing reel is designed with 9+1 anti-corrosion ball bearings and carbon fiber drag system. The max drag force is up to 20lbs. If you want to use it in saltwater, we recommend you rinse throughly with fresh water to maintain it after using. Hope this helps!
Answer: Does not state any of the literature or warranty information that this reel is saltwater approved, but I have used in the shallow or flats when fishing at the ocean and works very well it has a very good drag system.
Q:
how does this reel compare to your Lews reels and Shimano reels?
Answer: I use this reel for frog fishing, deep cranking and top water. It is as good or better than my Lew's reels. I have not used Shimano reels for several years. Another plus for this reel is the cost. I have at least 3 of each model of the Cadence reels and have had very good results with all of them.
Answer: this is an amazing baitcasting reel that has a strong smooth drag and will cast a mile. I use it for tarpon and snook that says it all, so it right up there with the curados and speed spools but at a bargain price
Answer: It's just as good of reel, it is real smooth when reeling in a lure I have caught nice large mouth bass and a couple of large pike.
Answer: For the price its as good as my shimano casitas.
Q:
Does this fit on a short pole ugly stick?
Answer: This reel can fit on any pole. If casting distance is a factor i would suggest a longer pole/rod.
Q:
Have not recieved my reels
Answer: Hi, I am sorry to hear this matter. Please reach out to support@cadencefishing.com or you can message us about your order information, we will try our best to solve for you!
Q:
Which one is left hand reel and right hand holding rod so what do I pick? Right hand? Or left hand?
Answer: If you hold the rod in your right hand, you want a left handed reel.
Answer: Reel handle on the left is for lefty. Reel handle in the right for righty
Answer: Left hand.
Answer: I’m pretty sure the handle is interchangeable.
Q:
When will the 7.3:1 left hand cb8 be available
Q:
How much fluorocarbon can I use
Answer: Try to use about 10% less when it comes to fluorocarbon because of its stiffness
Answer: It really depends on the pound test you choose and the diameter of the line . The larger the diameter the less amount of line.
Answer: Cadence rates the reel for 120yds of 12lb mono. Flouro’s vary in diameter, so it is hard to answer your question with any certainty. As a rule though, the capacity with 12lb flouro would be greater than the 12lb mono capacity as flouro is generally smaller in diameter than mono for like line strength ratings. Many times, the website or line box for flouro line brands will give you a conversion as related to mono.
Q:
Which reel would you recommend for musky
Answer: The Cadence baitcasting reels I have used are probably too small for Musky fishing. They are bass, maybe walleye, sized.
Q:
Is this a 100 size reel?
Answer: Dont know about what 100 size. can measure if needbe can put on 100 yards of 6lb test .there designed to be smaller than older reels hope this helps,
Q:
Have you had issues with the magnetic brake system?
Answer: Sure
Q:
Can you lock the handles if you don't want them to rotate?
Answer: I'm confused. The handles have to rotate to reel in line. Also the grip pads used for turning the handle have to turn. They won't turn in reverse, so it escapes my understanding after 50 years of using similar reels, some of which would allow handles to spin backward. Modern ones don't.
Answer: If you are talking about the Eva foam knobs on the handle the answer is no.
Answer: Once you begin the to retrieve line, the handle will not turn backward because it has an anti reverse bearing. I wasn't sure I understood the question. I hope this helps.
Answer: What the heck to you mean - "locking handles" ?I've never heard of locking handles on a baitcasting reel!
Answer: They don't spin so you don't have to worry about that. It's not like an old Peer Fishing rod
Q:
Is the CB8 casting reel spool ready for braided line as you advertise the C8 & 10 spinning reels to be?
Answer: Yes the reel is ready to use braided line on the bait casting reel.
Q:
Can you lock the handles if you don't want them to rotate?

Q:
How tall are the handles from the floor?
Answer: What handles?
Q:
I want a reel that I hold in my left hand and reel with my right hand. Witch is a right hand reel?
Answer: If you are left-handed use a right-hand reel because you always want to hold the rod in your strongest hand and reel with your right hand
Answer: The one I have you hold in the right and reel with the left.
Answer: Yes you want a right hand reel if you want to hold the reel in your left hand.
Answer: Yes, It will be a right hand reel
Answer: Get the right hand one
Q:
How much line capacity?
Answer: Thank you for your question! Then mono line capacity of Cadence CB8 casting reel is 12/120 lb/yds. Hope this helps!
Answer: The capacity for mono line is 12/120 lb/yds
Q:
Has anyone put a power handle on their cb8? if so which one? i’d like to find one for mine. thank you
Answer: unfortunately I haven't tried a power handle yet on my cb8, good luck in your search
Q:
Does it have centripetal brakes with pins, or magnets only?
Answer: Hi, Thank you for your question! CB8 baitcasting reel is designed with magnet brake. It's perfect for long casting and more stable than centrifugal brakes. In addition, it will be more easier to control than two brakes. Hope this help!
Q:
Is it carbon fiber or graphite frame?
Answer: I’m not sure but I don’t think it carbon fiber tho
Q:
Where are these reels manufactured ?
Answer: They are made in South Carolina. Very high quality. For all money made they also give back to childrens charity's. Check out there website.

Rey : Customer service cares.
Came with a defective retriever mechanism. Try to reach out a solution through Cadence support before writing a review but days passed and nothing came out. I’m returning it and look for other options. After writing this review Cadence Support contacted me and send me another CB8, but it has pretty much the same problem. We are trying to work something out. 5/12/2019 I was told that Cadence was going to send me a CS 10 spinning reel for the inconveniences and so far nothing came to my mailbox. For this reason I’m changing my review today 5/24/2019. 6/4/2019 Customer service send me another CS10 3000 because the first one was lost in transit. Thanks!
heng : very good investment even not best
the reel looks and feels great, not almost zero noise like some reels, but not that bad at all to me. my smooth like butter reels only smooth (almost zero noise the first couple months fishing any way, after that no matter how you clean or reoil them, still not almost zero noise any more (price range between 30 to $150 reels). i bought 2 cb6 and 2 cb8. really tried to hate the reels due to Not almost zero noise out of the box but i end up keeping them all 4. not yet fish with them yet, but i did try out side casting, i like them very much. solid reels. the specs with the price i paid was a steal, hope they hold up for long time. Fish On Guys!!!! UtmostFishing my youtube chanel, If you guys like to catch Snakehead, check it out and sub.
Amazon Customer : Broke in half
Used three times without issue and then on a cast, the reel broke in half
John Gann : Highly recommended!
Light weight, we’ll built!
paul h : topnotch
Good product well made
fourrobert13 : Buy something else...
I purchased this reel from Amazon and it arrived the next day. It wouldn't cast without substantial force regardless of how loose the brakes were. It also made a grinding noise when turning the handle. Contacted Amazon and got a replacement which came the very next day. Second reel was a dud as well. The handle would turn but the spool wouldn't. I won't be getting anymore Cadence baitcasters. Just a terrible reel which makes me question all of the positive reviews.
Scott Bennett : Affordable quality reels!!
Quality with affordable pricing. I own 4 CB8 baitcasters now, will never use anything else.
Amazon Customer : ???cb8
I am a huge cadence fishing fan. I have 7 rods that I can tell you are awesome. I also have many reels, some I love and others that I just like. But this reel has been problematic. The button is very hard to engage and the star drag has a lot of play in it. Kind of surprised since this is there top model baitcaster and I have 2 cb5s that I like very much. Cadence usually has high quality but maybe this one is the exception.
D Cox : This reel is so so smooth.
This is by far the smooth's bait casting reel out my many other reels.
wiliam1123 : Awesome reel, superior price, and operation!
Very cool small reel that fits into your hand. I chose the left hand 6.6:1 gear ratio for the capability to be an all purpose reel. I paired it with a 7ft MH rod. The mag breaking system is outstanding, drag is super smooth and grag setting has a really wide range. the thing casts a mile with no back lash. And also retrieve very very good! I am a stickler for cleaning and maintenance. Love the side plate as I can easily open the side plate to maintain the reels. The EVA grips makes a big difference in wet conditions. my overall experience with the cadence reels is that they are quite reliable and hold up very well. You can't go wrong with this reel!
Darryl Michael : Cadence B8 Baitcasting Reel My Initial Thoughts.....
Ok, let me say this before anything else. Like most of you I consider myself a serious fisherman. No I'm not on the pro circuit but I do a lot of fishing......largemouth, walleye, smallmouth, pike, crappie, bluegill and some catfishing - so I buy lot of fishing equipment (much more than I need LOL) rods, reels, lures etc. but I try to buy good equipment without breaking the bank. A few of my fishing buddies like some of you out there insist on buying $200 rods and reels and if that works for you fine. However I prefer to buy good equipment that works just as well as your $200 stuff but at a much lower cost and it can be done! Which brings me to the Cadence Baitcasting Reel - To all of my fellow serious but budget conscious fishermen I think this reel is an off the chain - excellent buy! But let me say this I know the REAL proof will come when I use it on the water next month and I'll give you an "honest update" on how it performs when a fish is on the other end of the line! But I can still give you some first impressions because I have it in my hand - the reel is light weight, I spooled it with some 12lb mono, adjusted the brakes and made some cast with different weights - no problem, the drag is butter smooth and on top of everything else it looks really good. I think the deep grayish color of this reel will match up well with most rod colors. I bought the 6:6 gear ratio and after giving it these mini-test I ordered the faster 7:3 gear ratio for another rod. Now check this out! The CB8 Model list for $70 but Amazon had some kind of a clip-on coupon and I got the reel for only $38.99! Man are you kidding me?!! Read the specs on it and you'll see this reel has many of the same features as those $200+ reels making the Cadence CB8 Baitcaster an absolutely fantastic bargin! The company even gives you a 90 day trial so if you don't like it send it back for a refund. Again I'm giving this reel a lot of kudos based on my initial eye test but I promise to give you an honest "on the water test" in the next few months of actual fishing use. But I'm betting that I'll end up keeping both of my reels rather than sending them back. So for now I'm going with a 3 star review an hope to give a 5 star down the road. One more tidbit - did you know that most of those so-called brand name $200+ reels are made overseas in Japan - you're really paying more for the so-called name on the box. Mr. Michael -25
Samuel S. : Not their best product.
Comparing reels from Kastking, Piscifun, and others in this price category, I can't recommend this reel. While it's a decent reel, it lacks an internally adjustable brake. You also can't remove the spool from the reel. Spool winding tends to become uneven over time. Considering this is their highest priced real, I'm not impressed. A Kastking Royal Legend at $40 would be a better option.
Inform : 1 year update: STILL Love it so far
Update: 1 year, zero cleanings, and still casts like a dream out of the box. My "KK" reels don't even get near the ease of use, weight, compact size, or smoothness. My Lew's in the 100+ dollar area are where this reel sees any actual competition.
Durability is to be seen, but these are smooth and light. Build quality seems better than KKing and almost identical to Lew's low-mid range
buzz : reel is extremely light weight
cast a mile, very smooth retrieve, so far as durability only time will tell
Amazon Customer : OEM FROM CHINA!!
Had high hopes of the reel (DB8) due to the rods from Cadence I own that I really like. This was the noisiest, roughest reel I have ever purchased! The gears sound like plastic on plastic inside. I have several sub $30 reels from China that blow this reel away and this was supposed to be the top of their line-up?? Wow..I can't imagine what the CB5 feels like! Cadence should have done better research into China OEM manufacturers/models because these are a joke!!
chenxiansheng1987 : Great reel for the price!
The reel is lightweight, smooth and comfortable. Fits really nice in my hand. I choose to go with the 7.3:1 gear ratio ( fast retrieve speed). It has already caught me some giant peacock bass and largemouth bass! The braking system is easy to adjust. I can precise to adjust by it and the tension nob. It is very smooth and i can have a long casting. I can feel it's a very good, good quality, strong reel. Love Cadence reel. Awesome reel for the money! I highly recommend it!
steven acuna : Cb8
Really like this cb8 it very smooth and cast excellent there customer service is awesome there give back to kid's program also sold me I have name brand baitcaster this hangs with all of them thanks cadence/Amazon!!
Onyx8234 : Great reel for the money
I’ve used this baitcaster 2-3 times per week for the past couple of months and all I can say is wow. For the price it is a great reel, ranks right up there with my Revo S
Beachside Dog Walkers : Appears to be of great quality at a fraction of the price...
This is my very first Cadence product and what made me choose it over the others was the overall positive reviews on all their products and price point. I use a lot of spinning gear but wanted a try at baitcasting. This reel has yet to be throughly tested out in the water but initial feel and overall design/ aesthetics are great. Thus, the reason why my headline reads.. "Appears to be of great quality..." Will update my review once I've had a chance to use it for sometime.
Davis Mclain : I don't normally review products.
Got divorced a few years back and got back into fishing. I had my 25 year old Shimano starting out and wanted a second budget spinning rod that was a little lighter action. That's when I first found cadence. Bought a cr5 ml cadence spinning rod but bought another reel. Was very happy with the rod. Since then I have added a lot of setups to my arsenal because I bass fish and want to throw a wide range of presentations. Some of my favorite reels that I have are my tatulas and my curado k. This reel has blown away anything I have used under 100 bucks I like it better than my promax and my diawa cr 80. It's also better then my Shimano slxslx xt at 130 bucks. Hell in all honesty this cadence it is now my second favorite reel. My tatula is still my fav but I am probably going to sell my curado and buy more of these after a few more trials.
Shawn Smith : Solid!!
I grew fishing with spincast and spinning reels and live bait growing up in the backwoods of Arkansas. Then I grew up moved to the city, got married, and raised 2 kids and fishing was a distant memory.
My goal for 2020 was to get back to fishing and learn to use a baitcaster. I now have 3 casting reels, the Cadence CB8, a KastKing Royale Legend, and a Lew's Speed Spool LFS. The CB8 goes head to head with the Lew's LFS which was $30 more. It has a stronger drag than the other 2, and the 6:6:1 ratio has worked well with Texas rigged soft baits. It is definitely a step up for the KastKing. The only drawback to the CB8 has been fine tuning the spool tension with different lures. It can be a little touchy.
The CB8 is a great reel and is comparable to the Lew's, so if money is an object, save $30 and get the CB8.
Jose Camilo Bravo : Bueno
Suave
mickey hsieh : Just buy it dont think twice!!!
What a nice reel for the money plus with the $20 off coupon. Just as good or if not better than my shimano casitas which cost $120
Dylan Ramage : Surprised by quality
Love how smooth it casts. Very close in quality to my $100 baitcasters. Might even like it better. I primarily use it for Texas rig and punching paired with a 7’ medium heavy favorite whitebird casting rod. Would definitely recommend. Good bang for your buck!
Brian P. : Great reel, great price
I only own Lews baitcasting reels but I bought a Cadence spinning reel a while back and was very impressed. That’s why I decided to give a Cadence baitcasting reel a try. Afterall, for $60 what do I have to lose? The reel performs surprisingly well for the price point, I would put it on par with a $100 reel from many competitors. I got the 7.3:1 and used it on my frog rod. Frogging is not easy on equipment and I’ve caught 3 fish on it and it held up very nice. I doesn’t have a cheap feeling under load that many lower end reels do, it has a solid one piece construction feel. It casted well with 65lb braided line and I could really sling the frog with little worry of it backlashing. I would definitely recommend this reel and the rest of the Cadence family of products as they are a GREAT value and really feel and look nice!
Amazon Customer : Great Baitcaster for the money!
This is one of my absolute favorite reels I own. I would compare it to a Shimano K even for the price point. Ive been using this reel for a couple months now and ive caught numerous 6lb to 7lb bass on it no problem at. Its very well built and very smooth, cant go wrong with this purchase!
Robert Reid : First bait caster
Great for beginners and very easy to string up! Good reel for my first bait caster reel and couldn’t be happier!
Amazon Customer : Outstanding Reel!!
Cadence really hit a home run with the CB8. I shouldn't say I was skeptical because I know Cadence makes great stuff (I have a CS10 spinning reel and a couple of CR7 rods), but at the price point I was unsure as to what I would get. As soon as I took the CB8 out of the box, I knew I had a winner. The fit and finish were flawless, very light weight; looks like a reel that costs two or three times the "pre coupon price". I've put a few fish in the boat with the CB8 and it has performed flawlessly. The mag breaking system is outstanding, drag is super smooth and the thing casts a mile.
My takeaway after a few trips, buy one. You won't be disappointed. The reel seems best suited for anything but chucking heavy baits. The feather light spool and low torque bearings really help when casting a lighter bait or flipping, but may make it more difficult (if you don't have a well trained thumb) to avoid a backlash if you were throwing a heavy bait like a Whopper Plopper 110. While the cranking isn't as refined as a Daiwa Tatula (I didn't expect it to be) it is dang good. In all honestly, I don't see how Cadence can offer the reel at such a low price. I'd say the reel fishes at the $100 price point. In fact, I like CB8 better then my friends $200 big brand (starts with an S) bait casters. The CB8 is a great value at MSRP and a tremendous value and the "coupon price".
The only thing I can't comment on is the durability. If the CB8 is like their other other products, I won't have anything to worry about.
E. Jones : Smooth and casts well
A great baitcaster for a reasonable price.
Ricky.s : Nice compac size
Nice reel but feels a bit cheap when holding in hand, and a lot of play on retrieving handle, looks like Cadence is taking it lightly on quality control.
J. Miller : Damn good reel!!!
Absolutely recommend this reel. No need to overpay with the big name reels. The Cadence CB8 is now my go to reel.
jordan : Solid unit!!
I’ve fished with every brand of high end baitcasting reel available and I would stack the CB8 up against any of them!
R. Wynieski : Seems decent for the money.
Quality seems decent, main gear feels & appears well made, carbon fiber disks for drag also seem of decent quality. Reel is smooth, palms nicely, and is easy to use. Time will tell as far as durability.
J. Miller : Damn good reel!!!
Absolutely recommend this reel. No need to overpay with the big name reels. The Cadence CB8 is now my go to reel.
Scott Bennett : Affordable quality reels!!
Quality with affordable pricing. I own 4 CB8 baitcasters now, will never use anything else.
jamie : You will not be disappointed
This is a copy and past review from my first Cadence purchase. The cc5 spinning reel. But it will give you the gist of how I feel about the gear.
Bought this to replace a broken reel on a old rod. I liked it so much I purchased their cc5 spinning combo. Once I had that in my hands I couldn’t stop. I have also purchased th cc4 and cc6 spinning combos. Then I said “ let’s try my hand at a bait caster. Never used one but what the hell right. So I got the bc6 in med/heavy 7’ and a bc6 reel in 7.2.1. Then I got the same set up in med 6’6, And then in Heavy 7’ for my fogging rod. All are Absolutely a amazing product. And any company that gives back to the kids is one I want to support. I HIGHLY recommend!!!
Jus T : Cadence CB8’s quality and price, bought 2nd.
CB8 is a great reel - smooth and easy to cast for a novice bait casting user. Highly recommended. I have bought a 2nd CB8 to replace another bait caster of a different brand.
Michael H. Blank : A great reel, and an even greater value.
I recently purchased this reel for a little under $40. I was looking to build a budget crankbait rig. I had already picked out a Lew’s Hank Parker Crankbait Rod at WalMart for also just under $40. I put some 8lb Berkley Trilene XT in green on there (keeping with the budget theme) and I have to say I am extremely impressed. It was 39 degrees the whole time I was out and I managed to catch 5 bass. I only had two minor backlashes the whole time, both into the wind and I stuffed both, so those were on me, not the reel. Still, neither was that bad. In general it was extremely forgiving and really easy to setup.
Sure it had a few minor nits to pick. The drag tensioner wobbles a bit. Not something you’d notice unless you watched it all day. It isn’t something you’d feel. The only slight operational issue was that the reel needed a good crank to kick all the way out of casting mode. It wasn’t an issue and again, it was near freezing so it either needs a bit more grease or to be broken in when it isn’t 39 degrees out.
In summation, the 5.6:1 is almost, if not dead on, perfect for crankbaits. It it was smooth, quiet, casted VERY well with a light crankbait and brought 5 bass in with easy.
I hope the price stays down as this is my current favorite budget reel. I’m totally blown away at the value here.

Potato : Great reel for the price.
I have a collection of reels from a cadence cb6 to a Daiwa steez sv tws. Bought this one because I like cadence products. They do the job just fine, are quite smooth, and cast great. Happy with my purchase.

Daniel Y. : plastic body
false add has a plastic body. Had problems with reel going in gear and locked up while fishing. I gave it a bad review. Cadence sent me another reel. This reel works the way it's supposed to. I gave it 4 stars because the add states metal body.it's plastic. It does cast good and it's light. I hope it holds up.

Randy Stewart : 1st one was bad but the replacement is great.
I used it last night for bass fishing on my frog rod. I caught a 2lb and noticed that I couldn't press the button to cast afterwards. I had to open up the reel to make that function work after one fish. About an hour later I caught a 5lb and then the button/bar seizes again. I finally got it to work without opening up the reel yet again. As soon as I got another hook set in the button/bar seizes again. I like everything about this reel but not being able to cast after every fish or hook set is a major problem. Will be returning this for the same hoping for different results. The reel is otherwise perfect. It handled a 5lb bass with absolutely no problem.
UPDATE 8/10/2020
I got the replacement reel 2 days ago and it works flawlessly. Very happy now and I'm hoping it will hold up for a few years.
