RC : LTD Ross Reel

Its hard to find a Ross that's not nickel or black these days. This is the only other LTD Ross Animas reel other than the rare green Trout Unlimited edition to the best of my knowledge. For the same cost as a standard "new" Animas, you can grab a USA made blue reel that looks much better in person than the display picture projects. Function of an Animas can be better explained by what happens on the water. I've fished the old Animas and it out performed the F1 from the last decade in my opinion. The new Animas simply has a better design, is quite rigid, and is half the cost of Ross's most premium reels. The new Animas is just as good and is aesthetically better than old model Animas with elements of the 2010s Evolution. If you want to get really crazy, pair this with a black spool for a strong and unique two tone look. Finally the micarta handle on these reels are the best material handles in the industry. I'm a bit biased toward the design, as I like flat cylinder shaped handles. If I get sloppy the line will hang on the handle, but this is a user error issue when tussling with a trout going to drag. However, the micarta handle gives the most positive contact in the industry and it cant be beat despite my personal preferences. Reasons to purchase are that this a rare blue ross reel that delivers performance on and above the water and it looks incredible in person. Give it orange, yellow, or red backing with vibrant green fly line and this thing will be popp'n on the Gunny!
