Answer: have had mine for about a year and used many times to filet many fish always rinse and dry before putting away and have had no problems . I also sharpen before each use.

You get what you pay for. The filet knives were so dull that I ended up using my husband's pocket knife -- which he didn't appreciate. Maybe they can be sharpened, but I haven't tried yet. The cutting board was fine -- it's a cutting board. The gloves were okay but the plastic grippers had melted onto the knives during shipping. I will be buying a new filet knife for future fishing trips.

unfortunately, I was not entirely pleased with my purchase. When I opened the case, there was a foul smell coming from it, had to wash the entire case along with the cutting board and knives and scissors in an attempt to get rid of it, kinda worked. The gloves were melted to the one knife handle. The largest fillet knife is bent. Definitely did not meet my expectations, which is disappointing, because it looked like it was going to be exactly what I was looking for and needed. I was mistaken.

This kit is an average kit and has decent knives for the price. My complaint and the reason it will not get 5 stars is that the gloves ate into the plastic on the scissor handle causing cosmetic imperfections. When I mentioned this to the seller, they sent another kit with the same issue. I would have rather had the kit sans gloves.
