Answer: have had mine for about a year and used many times to filet many fish always rinse and dry before putting away and have had no problems . I also sharpen before each use.

unfortunately, I was not entirely pleased with my purchase. When I opened the case, there was a foul smell coming from it, had to wash the entire case along with the cutting board and knives and scissors in an attempt to get rid of it, kinda worked. The gloves were melted to the one knife handle. The largest fillet knife is bent. Definitely did not meet my expectations, which is disappointing, because it looked like it was going to be exactly what I was looking for and needed. I was mistaken.

I saw mixed reviews on these, but bought them anyway and regret it. All of the knives were extremely dull, basically useless. The little cutting board is fine, and the gloves are just thin, cheap gardening gloves. Would NOT recommend, especially at the price point

I returned it immediately! No way of knowing what part of this product cause the problem, but I'm not willing to take a chance!

This was a Christmas present for my 70 year old Father-in-law, who enjoys fishing as a hobby. His eyes absolutely lit up when he opened this. He thought it was the greatest thing that everything - the knives and the cutting board and the gloves were all in one easy, portable carrier. All the tools inside are great quality. He couldn't wait to show it off to his fishing buddies!

Definitely super cheap and made in China. That's not the problem though. When I opened the package there was a terrible moldy smell. It's clear that the ultra cheap gloves got wet weeks or months ago and developed a mildew problem. The entire inside of the case stinks. BTW, the scissors are seriously flimsy. I certainly wouldn't trust them to cut through bones. Although this was only going to be a "keep them in the camper" set of knives for casual use they don't even meet that expectation. Returned!!

KNIVES ARE VERY SHARP

I didnt test it out before slapping a bass on the too small cutting board and literally sawing away with dull knives. I was trying to show the kids how to properly filet a fish but just only demonstrated how to gross out teens. I like the case and the idea. Maybe it'll work with some sharpening. Maybe I won't be so cheap next time.
