Answer: Having your reels attached is key for this system to work! If you are referring to a two piece rod, yes it will work but you will have to be creative! Possibly adding a bungee cord

Answer: Yes you can load broken down poles into the Rod-Runner no problem but you will need to store the top of the poles somewhere or use a rubber band or strap to attach them to the lower half of the poles. You should also be able to strap the top of the poles directly to the Rod-Runner but you will need an additional strap and test it out to be sure but it shouldn't be a problem. Answer: You can purchase different styles of rod holders and change them out with the 5 rod holders on your Rod-Runner PRO but you cannot add more rod holders to the Rod-Runner. It is designed to hold 5 rods but some customers do add extra rods by using additional straps to attach extra rods right on the Rod-Runner. Keep in mind any extra rods you strap on the Rod-Runner will not be as secure as the rods inside the 5 rod holders but some customers have used extra straps to add an extra 1 or 2 rods to the 5 rod PRO model. Answer: The rod holders are interchangeable for a more perfect fit but to answer your question yes you will be able to accommodate most combinations including the ones you mentioned with this standard PRO setup. Answer: Yes Rod-Runners can hold large offshore rods and reels up to 30W, 50W, and even some smaller electric reels. You can load all five rod holders with 30Ws no problem but 50Ws we would only recommend loading 2-3 per Rod-Runner with some spinning rods in between. Anything above 50W or bent butt rods your better off carrying by hand. When ordering just send us a note or email explaining you want all 5 open rod holders for offshore reels. Without the legs installed the reels will not be off the floor but you should be able to load the Rod-Runner in an SUV no problem with the legs installed as shown. We transport Rod-Runner regularly in SUVs and in most cases if you just lower one of the back seats it will fit great inside the SUV with the legs installed. Answer: It won't keep the reels off the floor. Depending on configuration, it may rest on a bait-casting reel if it is in the bottom slot. Otherwise it rolls over so it is resting where two locations are both resting on the floor.

How do I get the different tubes
Answer: I think it’s a 3 tube or 5 tube option. Depending on reel size and style you may need to adjust position and order. I’ve got several of the 5 tubes and can fit 5 3-4000 series spin reels easily. For my bigger conventionals or spinning reels, the reel handle is may need some repositioning. I don’t, however, use them for my fly gear. Otherwise - the rod runners are great, easy to carry and safely store my precious fishing gear.
Answer: All tubes are the same diameter and length but all have an elastic band inside to hold the rod butts secure during travel. You can detach each tube if you only want to carry 2-3 rods. I really like that I can bait the hooks or change lures while the rods are in the runner keeping the reels off of the sand when I surf fish.

Answer: I too only use open faced spinning reels and it holds of my 5 saltwater rods and reels. I love that I can attach my lures and rigs while the rods are still in the holder. It works very well for surf fishing and in a boat.

Answer: Any sort of shock cord will be able to tie down the product in your truck. There are multiple locations on the product to strap it down. Some customers tie down around the center rod holder and some run shock cords through the top handle from one side of the bed to the other. Another easy way to keep the product from shifting during transportation is placing the product on one side of the bed and a large cooler next to it. Hope this helps answer your questions. 1. When using the dual stands on the riverside which is not completely flat or when the rods aren't evenly placed to balance weight, the thing falls over. Even when sitting in the living room floor, it falls over with a very slight tap to the side. Do you want to be dealing with this while switching rods during fishing?

I hesitated to buy the Rod Runner due to how expensive they were, but am VERY happy that I went ahead and bought two. A very simple product to use and if you have multiple fishing poles this is a must. My kid loves the fact that he can attached one of the holders to his bike and ride up to the pond to fish. I love them because I can carry all my trolling rods on and off my boat easily and organized. Price was a little high, but once again it was worth it.

I love this rod/reel carrier and it has been such a life saver. I do a lot of shore fishing, with shoreline that goes from sand to mud to rock and it has held up extremely well, and made it much easier to navigate the transport of multiple rods than just throwing them in a bucket or grabbing them all in your hand. (I fish the Mississippi River, Rum River, Elk River, Minnetonka areas of Minnesota)
It has been mentioned that the carrier does not fit low profile baitcasting reels which is not the case. I have carried Lews Speed Spools, Shimano SXL and Daiwa Curado baitcast reels and they fit fine. There are only two tubes on the carrier that are for baitcasters though and the remaining three are for spinning reels. The person decrying the lack of the carrier to hold low profile reels must have been using the wrong slots or trying to use it backwards (which I did at first).
As to the rod tubes. They are large and your rods will move around in them. I would assume the tubes are designed to accommodate as many rod/reel setups as possible. The bungee tie downs are just to keep your rods from sliding forwards. I don't make it a habit of shaking my rods around in the carrier so the extra room in the tubes are not an issue for me. Gravity for the most part keeps the rods pressed down to the bottom of the tubes when carrying it or setting it down.
The balance issue could be a concern for some anglers. I have only had the carrier tip over once and it was on very uneven, pock marked ground. On sand it has done fine and even rocky areas as long as I have been able to find a bit of level ground. The carrier does use the rod handle ends as a stabilizer for the whole rig. I carry St. Croix and Dobyns rods in the carrier and have seen no extra wear on my rods. With 5 rods in the carrier there is very little weight being distributed to the rod handles and of course I am not dragging the rod ends along the ground in the carrier. If a person is the careless type then this might be an issue.
The handle is a bit slick and since it is a hard plastic surface your hand may become fatigued. I wrapped some pipe insulation around the handle and that has helped with the fatigue for me. The manufacturer could add a foam type covering where the handle is but then of course that would add cost. A trip to Home Depot, a couple of zip ties and some pipe insulation easily solved the problem.
My only concern is that the unit is designed for 3 spinning reels and 2 baitcast reels. I would like to see a model that has either one or the other offered or the ability to purchase and swap out extra tubes so as to make the carrier more versatile. I carry more baitcasting rods/reels than spinning so the configuration is not optimal for me.
Overall I like the carrier and would recommend it to others.

This rod carrier is made very well. It is heavy duty PVC. I can carry 5 spinning rods/reels in an organized fashion, while other people are fumbling with 2. They don't get tangled very much as I carry them out to the jettys on the Galveston Seawall. Each of the 5 rod holders has a bungie cord with it to hold the rod in place. There is a spare bungie cord included. The legs deploy easily to point the poles up at an angle. The legs have rubber "socks" on them to help prevent sliding. There is an extra "sock" included. Each of the 5 rod holders also detach from the whole frame but I haven't found a need to do this. This is worth the money. On a day when I'm not catching fish, this rod holder still makes me look like a pro, the best fisherman in Galveston!

Ps2baseball : I'd like to see a version made for fresh water
This might be ok for salt water rods, but doesn't work well for fresh water. Casting rod triggers don't seem to fit well in the precut slots, and the bungees seems to land right where the hook keepers are located on my rods. I bought this is use on a friends boat, and when all 5 rods are in place, the rods go every which way. I'd like to see a version made for fresh water, maybe a little smaller. It works a little better for spinning rods. Also has a tendency to tip over when all 5 rods are put in the holder, potentially damaging rods.

Great product. I have two of them - the three rod and five rod holders. These are well made and easy to use. They keep my rods well organized and makes transportation easy, whether in my SUV or pickup. I also like the optional wall bracket which allows you to easily hang the rod runner on the wall.

This is a great item for transporting via foot and storing the rodes prior to transit. The only issue i have had is that the corrugation in the bed of my truck does not match the distance between the feet on the hold. This causes the unit to topple over in turns and be less stable.
