would this work to catch chickens?! I'm worried it may be too small...Thanks!

Answer: Yes it is big enough to catch chickens but the handle is pretty short. If they are in an open pen I would get a larger net with a longer handle.

Answer: I think it would be to small to catch chickens. I would think you would want a wider dip net for this.

Answer: I use it to pick up shot ducks and geese from my boat. It should work!

Answer: From handle end to the net part, it's approximately 18-20".

Answer: The handle is 18" from the end to where the two pieces that for the loop are joined. It's a great value.

Answer: Yeah it fits. But be careful, its still loose enough to come out. I lost mine kayaking next to the mangroves and didn't even realize I lost it.

Answer: Yes. Anything above 30 inches use a gaff.

Will fish jump in it ?

Answer: I can't answer your directly as it relates to fish as I use it to catch wayward chickens, but considering my chickens won't voluntarily jump in it, I'd venture the same goes to fish.

The material used on this net is able to stretch, and all of the fish we caught on the river were able to get through the large holes in this net. Might be the perfect product for other uses, but not for fishing trout!

Breaks VERY VERY VERY Easily. Mine broke (the pole bent) as I was trying to catch small fish in a pond, after 1 hour to 2 hours of use. If you use it with extreme care (and not break it) I presume it can be a useful tool.
