Answer: Two things I noticed in my purchase for proper operation. 1. The plastic bags the were furnished with Qocum Vac. are rippled (rough) on one side. You must place the bag rough side facing upward, not down against rubber seal and heat element strip. 2. Make sure you hear a click sound snap from each side of clear plastic cover when down to lock and perform the function of bag vac. seal function for light to flash on vac seal to stop.

This sealer works perfectly well. It's compact and takes up very little counter room, is easy to use, and comes with free bags. Plus the company offered to send me more bags for free. They've been very communicative and have offered multiple products to me. They were even very patient and waiting for my review, which I didn't want to leave until it actually used the product. Unlike some companies who demand a product within a week or two.

I froze a bunch of red snapper, I think I did seven or eight bags and about 20 minutes. It was super easy. I plan to use this thing a lot!

I haven't used many vacuum sealers but I like this. It's a little loud but not bad at all. It took me about 20 seconds to seal up a couple pieces of pizza. This was pretty intuitive. I didn't even need to read the instructions to figure out how to use it. It did an excellent job vacuum sealing the pizza up (check the pictures and video). It comes with an extra seal, an attachment for bottle seals and a lot of bags. The cord is decent length and has a rubber seal to protect the power cord port. This vacuum sealer has a 12" effective sealing width and has enough suction for my needs. It includes options for gentle and moist foods - but I can't tell what difference it makes.

You can vacuum seal, seal-only, and vacuum-only (for canning/bottling). The vacuum pump isn't the most quiet, but it gets the job done.

Very straightforward device. Push the function that you want. The buttons light up to indicate what it's doing in the process. Once the lights turn off, you're done!

The only hesitation I have is the plastic latches that hold the vacuum door closed. They seem robust enough, but plastic will eventually wear out. If it happens to wear out, I'll come back and update this review.

3: Separate lock release on each side.
4: You better get a gym membership to actually latch the cover ( independent lid locks ).
5: Overly sensitive touch sensors will have you panicking trying to figure out which feature was activated while you were jamming your palms down to close the lid on the bag.

I understand that this isn t a professional or even a mid range vacuum sealer and your needs might be different than mine. But at the end of the day the only thing that matters is does it work to do its job and safely seal your foods, Yup. But, at what cost? If the bags alone which are supplied were any indication of the quality of the engineering and ease of use, Id have to say "Your money and time are best spent elsewhere".
