Answer: Two things I noticed in my purchase for proper operation. 1. The plastic bags the were furnished with Qocum Vac. are rippled (rough) on one side. You must place the bag rough side facing upward, not down against rubber seal and heat element strip. 2. Make sure you hear a click sound snap from each side of clear plastic cover when down to lock and perform the function of bag vac. seal function for light to flash on vac seal to stop.

This sealer works perfectly well. It's compact and takes up very little counter room, is easy to use, and comes with free bags. Plus the company offered to send me more bags for free. Unlike some companies who demand a product within a week or two.

This came in very handy with all my holiday cooking plus my garden vegetables are coming on so I can freeze stuff using this vacuum sealer. It's pretty easy to use and don't take up much room on my counter.

However, 2 days after bagging up my fresh shredded cabbage, all 5 bags have slowly lost their seal, and the cabbage has gone bad. So bad.
I made the mistake of owning this for 2 months before trying it, because I was sure it was going to be amazing. I'm so disappointed.
