Is the handle Carbon Fiber or is it wood/plastic/metal?

Answer: The handle appears to be plastic. There may be carbon fiber underneath a plastic coating though, there’s no way to tell. The entire thing floats, so I’d assume the whole thing is carbon fiber top to bottom.

Answer: Carbon Fiber and wood composite just like the hoop... Really nice net and especially good price...

I want to make sure that this net has a metal reinforced hole in the handle as pictured in two photos. Yes or No?

Answer: Yes, have a metaal reinforced hole in handle.

Answer: Yes it does, and this is a very solid net for the price. It's very similar to the Fishpond Carbon Fiber landing net, but for more than half the price.

Answer: No. I ordered 2 and both were missing the metal hole reinforcement in the handle as well as the magnetic latch.

strong magnet, light frame, could use some aluminum parts besides the magnets for being so close to the other metal hardware makes it tricky to auto clasp magnets. net tied on a little sloppy might need re tied but altogether the frame is solid and sturdy enough that i can tie the net down myself. most other brands about 120 on up for these carbon styled nets

The nets great, the frames pretty much the same as a fishpond hand net. I hang it off a waist pack and hike into places to fish a lot so it gets banged around on rocks and logs quite a bit but it’s has held up. There’s a metal insert in the leash hole. Comes with 2 leashes, one magnetic and one not which was nice. The mesh has held up well through a few weeks of hard fishing but doesn’t appear to be as nice as the mesh in fishponds or other high end nets, but as long as it doesn’t start tearing I don’t care. The frame came with the netting pretty loosely strung, I had to tighten the Dacron holding it at least a few inches to make it not sag, but this took all of 30 seconds. Overall I’m thrilled to get a nice net on par with high end ones for a lot less and would definitely recommend this after my experience fishing with it this summer.

I bought this net in October and lost it, due to a mechanical connection failure, for the handle connection. I contacted the seller through eBay and asked if they would offer any discount towards a new net. They immediately refunded me the cost of the net so I could purchase a new one and have it on the way. The net is lightweight and very similar to the more expensive name brand nets. The rubber basket is large and soft. The floatation of the net is great when unhooking fish or trying to snap a quick wet photo. Make sure to secure the metal ring that goes through the handle and I’m sure this net will last quite some time.

Great sized net and very durable. Downside is that the magnetic release hardware is terrible. It’s made out of metal, so it sticks to itself very easily, defeating the entire purpose of using a magnetic release. After a while, the metal rings also busted so it’s useless.

Pros:great value! Super light. Floats nicely. Mesh is sturdy silicone. The lanyard has a nice magnetic clasp.

Cons: The finish isn’t great-The mesh isn’t very clean, and the hole in the handle for attaching the lanyard looks unfinished.

I intend to replace the lanyards since they are a little cheap, and have steel parts that stick to the magnetic clasp, which can be annoying.

Warning, be careful which direction you are pulling the net to disconnect the magnetic clasp. I had it recoil and hit me in the chin. Fortunately it didn’t bleed enough to attract sharks.

Like so many other reviews, I have to knock the product for not shipping with a detachable magnet. Also, the way the handle/hole is made, it necessitates having a janky connector ring that is so large and gets in the way of a detachable magnet. I might try and replace the metal ring with some sort of cloth or zip-tie setup to keep the metal contention down.

Very light and seems strong but it arrive with the paint flaking off. I paid a premium for a superior net for fly fishing. This does not bode well that it is already starting to fall apart. I had serious faith in its longevity. I used a cheaper one for 10 years I don’t think this one will last that long at 4 times the price what a shame.
