Is the handle Carbon Fiber or is it wood/plastic/metal?

Answer: The handle appears to be plastic. There may be carbon fiber underneath a plastic coating though, there’s no way to tell. The entire thing floats, so I’d assume the whole thing is carbon fiber top to bottom.

I want to make sure that this net has a metal reinforced hole in the handle as pictured in two photos. Yes or No?

Answer: Yes, have a metaal reinforced hole in handle.

Answer: Yes it does, and this is a very solid net for the price. It's very similar to the Fishpond Carbon Fiber landing net, but for more than half the price.

Answer: No. I ordered 2 and both were missing the metal hole reinforcement in the handle as well as the magnetic latch.

Great net!!! The price is less than half the price of other graphite nets. The net also floats, and has ghost netting which is great for the fish you catch. The only thing I recommend is to heat shrink the snap ring so that it doesn’t come undone, you could also use tape.

Super awesome net for the price. comparable to fishpond. a little shorter handle bit less that half the price. comes with a lanyard and strong magnetic quick disconnect. Works great in the floattube for trout.

strong magnet, light frame, could use some aluminum parts besides the magnets for being so close to the other metal hardware makes it tricky to auto clasp magnets. net tied on a little sloppy might need re tied but altogether the frame is solid and sturdy enough that i can tie the net down myself. most other brands about 120 on up for these carbon styled nets

The net was advertised “with magnetic net release”. There was no magnet in the box. This is very deceptive product advertising. If you send me the product as advertised, I will change my review.

This net is identical to the Fishpond Nomad which is 2X the price. Absolutely love this net due to size, quality and weight. I was using the standard wood handle trout net and had some issues netting larger rainbows and browns. This makes netting bigger fish in fast water a breeze. Only down side to the net is the mag release they send with it. I didn’t like it so used the SF mag release I had on another net which has a longer stretch cord and better overall hardware. Worth the $10 additional to have an incredible set up.

The carbon fiber net is really a treat to use. It’s light, looks good, and has a great basket that protects the fish and keeps from getting your hooks caught up in the net. Review provided by Chris, the fisherman.

SW : Solid net

What I like most about this net is the size and light weight. It is perfect size- overall length and handle length is just right in my opinion. I used to have fish flip out of my old smaller net. The long handle of this net makes scooping up the fish easy. The basket is deep and hooks don’t get stuck in the net. But the net is no too big to hang on my backside.

The net quality is not Fishpond quality but satisfactory none the less. I can’t speak to the durability as I’ve fished with it several times at this point.

As like others I didn't recieve the magnet, and it's definitely not carbon fiber, it's plastic it held up the first round of trout here in PA but we'll see what fall brings!

I wanted a net made of composite material because of less weight and it floats too! This was the best price I found and the net is great for catch and release as well. My old net was good too but so heavy it would come apart at the magnet holder too easy. No problem now!

Nick : Lightweight net frame covered in cheap junk

To start with the good things about this net - it's lightweight. That's about it. As far as the negatives - everything about this net, possibly with the exception of frame durability, is cheap and flimsy.

After a week or two of use, there's considerable paint chipping off all around the net, the mesh has torn, and the string holding the mesh has broken and been replaced. The mesh arrived with tons of slack in the line holding it to the frame, so that was just a matter of time until it busted. The key ring and attachment pieces are also cheap and broke on the first outing. Replace immediately if you don't want your new net floating downstream away from you.

I wish I would've either shelled out for a fishpond or bought another cheap wood net. A lot of these things are minor inconviences and can be replaced before using, but at that point how much of a discount are you really getting compared to the real deal?
