Questions about Frabill Bridge/Pier Net | 36" Diameter Fishing Net Pre-Rigged with 50 Feet of Rope , Black
Q:
Is this item the collapsible?
Answer: No it's not collapsible but it's a great net I'm picky and you won't be disappointed
Answer: NO,,,,,sold steel hoop like 1/4" solid rod ring, deep net,3-4 ft deep, had 50' line attached
Answer: Frame is solid metal. You are stuck with the circumference. Very good net.
Answer: No, and it's actually really hard to store.
Answer: No it is not.
Answer: no
Q:
Is the bridge net available to order in your area,I can’t place an order?
Q:
Can you use it for crabbing too?
Answer: not really made for crabing, net is like 3-4 deep and ya would have to be in really calm water and pull it up real fast before the climb out,,,,,,,,
Answer: No ur gonna need a trap
Q:
Is this available in smaller size like 15-20" diameter? If not anyone can recommend one? Even if i get separate net and ropes
Answer: This one is just fine.
Q:
what dimiater is the steel ring of the net and roughly how much does it wiegh cheap nets don't weight enought?
Answer: not positive on size,it 36" atleast, well built from 3/8th steel rod I would say,net hangs like 3' feet or more empty, nice heavy duty net I say!!
Answer: About 36 inches and built extremely well. I don't know the weight, but it is sturdier than I expected. I am happy with it.
Answer: 36" diameter. No idea of weight. but enough to do the job
Q:
Do you think this could handle 60+lb flatheads?
Answer: 40lbs yes!! Anything bigger probably not! I think the frame would probably bend on Anything over 40lbs
Answer: I believe it could. I landed a 48lb Nurse Shark with it a year and a half ago.
Answer: yes it can
Answer: Yes
Answer: I believe so.
Q:
What size is diameter of the net eyes?
Answer: I don't the exact size they not small . A small bluegill or shad would go right through. You couldn't use it for small bait fish.
Q:
Does it really take 1 to two months to ship and arrive? Thats what it says???
Q:
Do you make any stronger quality ones for bigger fish, to hold up to 80 pounds?
Q:
Does it really take 6 to 8 weeks to get it
Q:
I'd like to return my net. it's unopened as i did not get to use it. not looking for a refund, i don't want it to go to waste. is this possible?
Answer: Ask any tackle shop they may help.
Q:
Hello much weight can this net pickup? Not in the description. Thanks.
Q:
Is there a smaller model of this? This is too big for the type of fish I am catching from the pier.
Answer: Do you mean you need small holes or a smaller diameter. Both are available-might need to visit the competition.
Q:
Do you know when they will be back in stock?
Q:
What kind of knot do you recommend to secure this net to the pier?
Answer: Round turn and two half hitches
Answer: one that holds!!
Q:
Also is this a flexible framed net? And how wide is the opening from one end or side to the other side?
Answer: The opening is at least 30 inches across. I don't know what you mean when you say flexible framed net. I am away from the net at this time, but it works for me from at least a 40' bridge height.
Answer: No it is not a flexible frame. The frame appears to be made from sturdy aluminum and is 36" wide. It is a high quality pier net and I am pleased with it so far.
Answer: It's not a flexible frame. Metal circle frame approx. 3ft diameter, with nylon mesh net and nylon rope pull. Not sure how my dad plans to store it, but it worked fantastically, and I had my doubts when he opened it on Father's day! :)
Answer: No it is not a flexible framed net. It has one large steel ring that is a bit ackward to transport and is very close to the advertised 36 inches.
Answer: The frame is not flexible it is made of steel. The opening is 35 1/4" the size of the hoop.
Answer: It is not a flexible frame and it is 36- inches across. Great net
Answer: It is not flexible. It is 36" wide.
Answer: Net is 36" in diameter at the mouth. Solid metal frame.
Answer: this frame pops up and makes the device more rigid. the net is three feet across and with a raised border of 3 inches. I attached a 5 foot pole to the center with a rope to be able to pull it up fast when fish are in it. This device works well but you need to have patience with it. Fish are fast. I like the way it folds up for easy storage and handling.
Answer: It is a metal frame and not flexible
Q:
Can you take the hoop apart to replace the mesh on this?
Answer: Hello. We haven't needed to replace the netting (yet). We've had it for 4/5 years and have used it at least 50 times off the bridge/pier. There must be a spot on the metal ring to cut or separate to replace the net. Don't have it right here to look at it-all the gear is stored. Worst case scenario, cut off the netting, and rehang the new net over the ring, leave an inch folded over the ring and I would sew it / weave it with 100 lb. test line around the ring.
Answer: Not without cutting it and welding it back together
Q:
Does it come with rope?
Answer: Yes mine came with a 20 -30 ft of rope. Great, was ready to use .
Answer: yes, there is a 20-30 foot nylon rope attached
Answer: Yes mine came with 50 foot of rope
Answer: Yes it does and it's very sturdy
Answer: Yes. No complaints.
Answer: Yes it did .
Q:
Is this net large enough to land large salt water fish from 50-150 lbs? Sharks, tarpon, barracuda elevated to an above 25' bridge?
Answer: We love our net. Would not have been able to land a lot of the fish that we have caught since we purchased it if we had not had it. For a fish that large we have found that it takes two people to bring it up. Have not caught anything over 50/60 lbs so not sure about landing over that but I feel pretty sure that if you get it in the net and can lift it it would hold it. Good luck on the fishing and I hope this helps.
Answer: Hi Kristy, too tell you the truth I don't know. It looks very sturdy and very big, for sure a 50 lb. My husband purchased it to go pier fishing and I imagine if you caught a 50 lb, plus fish you could elevate it with some help. Unfortunately my husband passed and never got the opportunity to try it out, I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.
Answer: I would not think it to be strong enough for a 50 lb fish, or at least not much more .
Answer: I do not think so.
Q:
How far under water does the net go?
Answer: Hello. Depends on where you're standing. We must have been over 15 feet+ off the water's surface on a pier. Used this net to hoist up a 200 pound nurse shark on rod and reel. We have maybe 50 feet of rope on the net. Plenty of slack to maneuver under the catch and strong enough to heave that catch up and over the rail! Good luck. Awesome net. Don't even think twice!
Answer: It depends on the water current and you can add some weight inside the bottom of the net to make it go down further if you need to. It is meant to go under the fish to bring it up so it stays in the topwater if you dont add any weight.
Answer: depends on how much weight u have on it. or if u let the rope go or not.
Answer: Well over 30 feet.
Q:
What is the difference between size 2 and 4? The description for each all say 36". Thank you.
Answer: The thickness of the net.
Answer: Don’t know I got the 36inch it’s plenty big
Answer: Didn't have that option when I bought mine. Sorry.
Q:
What size is the box it comes in?
Answer: Wow. Had this net for years now. Not exactly measured. It came in a flat carton. Most likely 38"+ square x 4 or 5 inches high/tall.
Answer: It was wrapped in cardboard
Q:
Can you use it for big game like 70 pound fish off the pier
Answer: 70lbs is pushing it. I did it with 50lbs striper and it was questionable but its a really good net.
Answer: Absolutely. The important thing is to make sure that the rope leading to the net is secured properly
Product reviews of Frabill Bridge/Pier Net | 36" Diameter Fishing Net Pre-Rigged with 50 Feet of Rope , Black
Chris : Great Value!!!
Vey good value. I might change out the rope for something a little more stout. Definitely big enough for any fish I may catch. The days of slinging fish onto the pier are over!
Granny Smythe : This is a great and sturdy pier/bridge net
This is a great and sturdy pier/bridge net! The metal ring opening on the top of the net is larger than all of the local options which is a lot better when trying to get bigger steelhead in the net!
The connection of the rope to the be is great and sturdy! I really like that it only had 3 connections from the rope to the net as that reduces the hassle of running a fish into one of those rope lines when trying to net it! Also the rope is decent rope and came plenty long enough for my uses!
Bryan Housler : Worthwhile investment for any pier dock or bridge fishermen
Very sturdy and deep I'm 6'4" and can almost pull it up to my shoulders, great for landing big fish off a pier dock or bridge
Missy Scott : Great!
Great net very well made I had looked around in bait and tackle stores and couldn’t fine one so I ordered this one and I have no regrets!

Lu Vul : More than I Expected
We purchased this for pier fishing to bring medium size fish up to pier height without losing the. This product was quickly put to an extreme test. Another person down the pier caught an 80 to 90 lb Ray and couldn’t get it in their net. We brought ours down the pier and were able to fit it in and bring it up carefully to the pier to remove the hook and release it safely. It took five adults to lift it. I was worried about the capacity of the net but everything was gone. I am very pleased with this net. The last time we were on this pier someone else helped us with a large halibut. I look forward to having luck with this net in the future.
Josh : Good bang for the buck
Worked well and was exactly as advertised

I love this net. We use it over bridges to get our fish in. Sometime over 50lbs and never have a problem with it. One thing we did change is the long rope. Needs to be alot bigger for pulling up fish.

This was purchased as a gift for my husband who fishes on a near daily bases. He reports back to me the quality it top notch. He fishes from a high bridge and needed something to pull up the heavier (15-20 +lb) fish and had found this to do the trick.

Frank DeRosa : The only way to pier fish
We purchased prior to a recent trip to Florida. Bringing up big fish on a pier has always been an issue; not anymore. This thing hauled up a 50 pound ray, a 45 pound black drum, a three foot black tip shark, spanish mackerel, spotted sea trout, and basically anything that was too heavy or precious to risk bringing up on the line. It was awesome. I strongly suggest knotting the line every two feet so as to get a good hand grip. You'll also need gloves as the nylon rope will give you rope burn if it gets away from you. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase.
