Questions about Frabill Rubber Replacement Net | Compatible with Conservation, Pro-Formance, Tru-Trax, Sportsman Nets
Q:
Will this fit the collapsible/expanding 3607 net?
Answer: 3607? the replacement net diameter is 19 inches it will fit any net that when open meets the 19 inch criteria. I don't think it makes any difference otherwise. You may have trouble taking the collapsible frame apart to replace the net
Answer: Sorry, I don't know that....It goes by hoop size and I just measured my hoop and ordered the size I needed...the one I got fit perfectly after I figured out how NOT to put it on :-)
Answer: Yes
Q:
Will it fit a tear drop shape frame?
Answer: Yes it will fit a tear drop frame.
Answer: Yes it will....I have replaced two of my nets and they worked fine ...once I figured out how to get them on properly (don't ask) :-)
Answer: Yes. that's what mine is installed on and it works great.
Q:
How exactly do you attach this replacement net? The same as you would any other?
Answer: My net frame had 2 screws attaching hoop to handle. Just had to remove screws and hoop and thread replacement net on hoop. Piece of cake...other than it was a bit difficult to pull the hoop out of the handle...
Answer: Yes take screws out of hoop thread Net on put screws back in takes 5 minutes
Answer: I used zip ties every four inches all the way around the net frame
Answer: You have to take the handle off the net (2 screws) then the net slides through that metal ring. Takes about 5 minutes.
Answer: Pretty much .. all from ons side until the last couple of loops ... At first I tried from both sides but that didn't work because it wouldn't stretch enough to get down around the loop ..hope this helps
Answer: yes it was a struggle for us also but if you slowly work it around you will get it on put the bulk on at the front and work around.
Answer: Slides over hoop
Q:
It says replacement. Does that mean it doesn't have a handle or it isn't a full net?
Answer: It is just the rubber mesh net, no handle comes with it. Meant to replace the netting only.
Answer: Its a full net, but you only receive the net and have to put in on your current handle.
Answer: It is just the rubber netting. No hoop, no handle - The idea is that you replace a ripped net using your old frame...
Answer: It is just the full replacement net. The net is very good but also it is pretty heavy.
Answer: Yes you are correct it replaces the worn out netting. It is simple to install and performs excellently.
Answer: it is a "replacement" net bag only. The whole bag and nothing but the bag
Answer: It's the net. I love mine. Went on the existing hoop in a jiffy!
Answer: net only
Q:
How deep is this net?
Answer: The net is 14" deep and is made of heavy rubber. This is not a light net, but resists getting tangled with treble hooks. Although 14" doesn't seem like a lot, we netted a 30" walleye during a Columbia River walleye tournament last weekend and it was more than big enough.
Answer: Probably about 16"
Answer: On my frame it's approximately 18" deep. My net frame is about 18" in diameter. On a smaller net frame it might be deeper.
Answer: Its seems to be a shallow net but it stretches to around 24+ inches with large bass, it is a problem with large pike over 28 to 36 inches. This is how my old net ripped they can stretch the net and their teeth can cut the links.
Answer: About 16"" it stretches with fish in
Answer: About 18 inches.
Q:
what size handle does it need?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Any size handle. Do you mean what is the diameter of the net holder? Also you should consider that this is a very heavy net. It is difficult to manage with a long handle. Its heave with out a fish in it.
Q:
is it deep enough to handle big pike?
Answer: Biggest fish I've netted so far has been a 32" cutthroat. I like that you can weigh the fish in the net. It could probably handle a 40" pike with ease.
Answer: It'll handle the big pike. I would not extend the handle to full length.
Answer: No! Only 12 to 14" deep, definitely not deep enough!!
Answer: Would be close, not that deep. It will hold 20 pound catfish with not much room to spare.
Answer: Not deep enough and real heavy. I never used mine. It us Laying on the shop floor in the corner waiting to be used for something other than a dip net.
Answer: Probably, it's only about 12" deep.
Answer: A monster no. Large fish yes.
Q:
Will this net work on an Ego S2 slider frame?
Answer: I did get it on my slider. Was surprised how much heavier it was than the nylon net that come on the slider. When you extend the handle the weight really adds up. My wife wasn't excited about the extra weight.
Answer: I think it's the best fishing net I have owned
Answer: Boy, I think you need to ask Frabill. My wife and I love our replacement net! Some say it's heavy. Not really.
Answer: I put it on mine and then took it off because its quite heavy
Q:
Will this fit the 16x14 hoop size net?
Answer: I have 2 of these and they fit my net frames perfectly. mine are 17 x 19 inch. it will fit but it will have extra netting that might get in your way. you should fit it with the same size that you have. jim
Q:
Which number gies from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock, 1st or 2nd? And then when measuring from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock how far down do you go?
Answer: 23 9-3 26 12-6, it stretches a little and fit my standard-sized folding frabil
Q:
Is the rubber black or clear?
Answer: It is Black.
Answer: Black
Answer: Black
Answer: Mine was black
Answer: BLACK
Answer: Black
Q:
Why does the picture show three nettings?
Answer: I do see the three pics Im not sure why they put the other two in the picture, but the large rubber one is the product. It is a great net, we no longer struggle
Answer: I don't remember three nets in the picture when I ordered mine. But it's the one on the left that you will receive when ordered. Maybe it's a comparison issue to show you how regular netting will tangle compared to Frabill's rubber netting. I'm a bass fisherman and love mine. Getting a little older and it's nice to be able to reach out with a net for those 4 pound plus fish but of course works well on all fish. I haven't had a hook caught in the netting itself just slightly entangled and usually easy to remove.
Answer: Only the one on the left is rubber. I use this net on a regular basis and it works great--last time on a 25 pound flathead cat--no problem. The replacement was for one an animal chewed up when I left it out in the boat all winter.
Answer: .? Just one in bag
Q:
how deep is this net? do you think it will fit a hoop that's 24.5 x 28"
Q:
The description says this is a rubber net, but the picture shows a rubber covered poly net. Which is it?
Q:
Can I get a net and hoop replacement?
Answer: WHAT I DID WAS BUY ANOTHER NET AND PUT THE FRABII ON IT
Q:
would a 20x23 net work ok for a 21 inch hoop?
Answer: The best way to tell is measure from side to side and top to bottom. Mine frame is 17 x 19 and that is what i ordered and it fit perfect.
Q:
Will this fit frabill part # 81500 teardrop frame?
Answer: I don't know what part #81500 is. If that hoop on your net is about the same size as the replacement net then it should fit. The hard part is getting the hoop out of the handle so you can put the new net on.
Answer: Honestly don't know - I had a generic frame that this appeared to fit based on measurements. and took a flyer... just so happened to fit perfect
Q:
what is the depth of the net?
Answer: I don't have the net with me, its on my boat in FL but it is not a really deep net but deep enough to contain the fish. It is heavy, much more heavy than typical mono netting. I bought it because it causes less harm to the fish.
Answer: The net is approx 18" stretched.
Answer: It is about 12-15 inches but it stretches when you have a fish in it. Works well.
Answer: I think about 9 - 11 inches but I'd have to measure it to be sure.
Answer: 22 inches but it stretches ..hope this helps
Answer: 18"
Q:
I have a teardrop net. Hoop measures 16'x21". What size rubber replacement will fit?
Answer: I would probably go with the 20x23. The 17z20 would probably fit but, the larger one definitely will. Get ready for a workout because they are heavy compared to a string net. Work great if you fish with plugs with multiple treble hooks.
Answer: You need to find that size. It will fit just right. They usually come with enough extra so it will fit. what you might want to check is the depth of the net and the material that it is made of . I replaced mine with the rubber material as it is easier to use and less stressful on the fish. hope this helps. jim
Answer: My nets are teardrop as well. Buy the net that has dimensions closest to the LARGEST dimension of your net. It will work even if it is larger than your nets smallest dimension.
Answer: Measure the diameter of the loop at it's widest points, then look for a net that measures at least that wide.
Answer: I dont know. I will tell you these rubber nets are HEAVY. Be sure thats what you want.
Q:
How deep is the 20x23” net?
Answer: It appears to be sink down 12 to 15 inches below the rim of my net and the width of my net’s hoop is about 24 inches. This netting will fit a lot of different nets. I suppose the wider the net, the less the net will drape downward. I have already netted several 6 to 7 pound bass with this net and they sink down sufficiently below the rim and don’t bounce out. I especially love how treble hooks are incapable of snagging into the netting itself due to it’s solid rubber structure.
Answer: Not exactly sure but I’m an inshore fishing guide and never had a problem with it not being deep enough.
Answer: Guessing…. Never measured but 12”-14”..
Q:
Is your 1 7 by 20 fishing replacement net triangular or circular in size
Answer: Circular I suppose. Frame of net is rounded shape.
Answer: I have it on a triangular Folding Frabill net
Answer: I use it on a circular frame but it would probably fit a triangle frame. Get you a good workout before you start to use it because it is quite heavy but, works perfectly. It is great on artificial baits with trouble hooks.
Answer: It is circular.
Answer: circular.
Answer: Circular
Answer: Circular
Answer: circular
Q:
How deep is this net ?
Answer: It depends on how heavy your fish is. The heavier the fish, the deeper the net, because it's made to expand.
Q:
Would this fit - frabill wade net 19 x 25-inch net? - https://amzn.to/2m2u8eq
Answer: My guess is that it would. I put mine on a 20 by 20 square frame and it is loose. On a 6 foot handle and it is amazing how much heavier it feels lifting it and sweeping it through the water. Unless I'm netting plug caught fish I prefer the nylon.
Answer: Rubber stretching to fit the frame is not a problem. The net itself is actually a little bit on the heavy side for wading. Search landing nets and you will find a lighter version that is lighter, snag resistant and designed to protect the slime layer on the fish. I bought the "madbite" folding net for around the same price as this replacement rubber net on Amazon. Good Fishing and I hope this helps.
Q:
Depth of net ?
Answer: Shortly after buying the replacement net. I landed 5 wallets 20” to 24”. With no problem
Answer: This net is fantastic
Answer: Mine is 14”. It also has a flat bottom. I use mine in saltwater on red fish. Works great. Lures do not tangle in it.
Answer: 16 inchs
Q:
how deep is the 26" net?
Answer: It’s not very deep. It’s great for bass and pike under 30. We have netted larger fish, but it’s risky. Hope that helps! It is a great net though - so easy to get fish out with treble hooks
Answer: On my aluminum, odd shaped, old net frame, this replacement provides a deep 12-14 inch pocket. It can handle pretty large fish. This product is very sturdy and alittle heavy, but necessary where I fish along Corpus Christi coast.
Answer: It is a heavy net and I sold it. Seems to me it was about 14" deep. Hope that helps.
Answer: It's about 18" deep. Never measured it. It has some degree of stretch. Unfortunately, I've never caught a fish too big to fit in it.
Answer: I never put a tape to it..... I would estimate its shallow, 12-14”.
Answer: 12/16 inches
Answer: 13 inches
Answer: 13"
Q:
will this fit a 22" round hoop frame ?
Answer: We use a round frame net and the replacement net fits well.
Answer: Yes, probably. This is a very durable net!
Q:
Is this a shallow net like the conservation net?
Answer: Its not real shallow....not sure of the dimensions of the conservation net but I would say this net is about 12-14" deep
Answer: Yes, very shallow compared to most nets, but easily landed and boated an 8 1/2 lb. bass in mine. Hooks do get tangled in the webbing but can be removed very easily
Answer: Somewhat- its about 12"deep, but it does stretch out to allow large pike and heavy bass to fit without a problem. Pike have a habit of cutting the rubber so you have to keep tension on your line so the head doesn't fall inside the net. That's why I had to replace the last one.
Answer: I don't know how shallow the conservation net is but I would say yes ...less than a foot deep ... what I like most about it is that your lures don't get tangled up in it..hope this helped
Answer: I don't know what the conservation net is, but it's plenty big to land a big fish
Answer: No it is not it is a deep net
Answer: I'd say it's like 10" deep
Answer: It's about 10 inches deep works well for landing you're catch
Answer: I believe so
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is this item advailible in clear?
Answer: I think it is you just have to look a little harder. go directly to the Frabill web site
Q:
Do you have replacement for 13" fishing net
Answer: This should work fine. A little tricky to put on, but much cheaper than buying a new Frabil.
Answer: Sorry can’t answer this one
Q:
fraball convenient reference chart where is it?
Q:
How heavy is this net?
Answer: good quality rubber probably twice the weight of nylon net but not too heavy i like it and think you will too i recommend it
Answer: Sturdy, but not too weighty in comparison with other rubber nets
Answer: Net is made of rubber and is pretty large works perfect for trout fishing. Also no more hung treble hooks in the net! Major bonus for me
Answer: The net doesn't seem much heavier than the original threaded net. Very durable and fish, hooks are no problem with getting caught. Best money spent on the net ever!
Q:
I have a Frabill conservation series model # 350030 looking for proper replacement net. What stock # or product # is correct for this model ?
Answer: The way that i bought mine was by measuring the width across the middle of the frame from side to side and top to bottom. You can also measure the depth of net, as the come in different sizes. Hope this helps.
Answer: just measure the oval net frame and match it as close as possible they stretch , but not easy to get on
Q:
I have a 16” diameter round landing net. Does Frabll make a rubber replacement and if so, what is product #
Answer: I had to buy another net and switch the net
Q:
Does the Frabill 3060 replacement net come in clear?
Answer: They come in different colors and materials. Search a little and you should be able to find it. I believe you can also contact Frabill. They should have a web site.
Q:
how deep is this net?
Q:
net dimensions? how deep is it?
Answer: It has a 14" hang depth, measured at center, empty.
Answer: It stretches out quite a bit handles 12 pound stripers easily probably a foot deep empty
Q:
is this mesh suitable for the frabill conservation tear drop net?
Answer: It's the best fishing net I ever own hooks not get tangle up worth the money
Q:
I have a teardrop net. Hoop measures 75"around the tear drop frame will the 23"x26"rubber replacement fit?
Answer: The circumference of a 23" x 27" elipse is 77" so I believe the bag will work with your net. You have to be able to separate the handle from the hoop in order to thread the replacement net onto the hoop. You simply weave it onto the hoop, using the top openings in the net bag, and then re-attach the handle. I found it easy to do, but I was surprised at how heavy the net is now, compared its weight with its original fabric bag. Bag appears to be heavy duty, though, and rubber is easier on the fish.
Answer: Yes I think it may. It fits my net that has a 69 " and still has some room to play.
Q:
Anyone know the circumference? Looking to have it fit my 43 inch circumference net. 16.5” x 10.5”
Answer: I have purchased 2 of these. my landing net frame is 19in long by 17in wide and it fits perfect. and it is 12 in deep. It sounds like this net would be a little big. Just google 16.5" x 10.5" replacement net and you should find it. I believe they go by the size of the frame. hope this helps. jim
Product reviews of Frabill Rubber Replacement Net | Compatible with Conservation, Pro-Formance, Tru-Trax, Sportsman Nets
Rich : Great replacement
Replaced a fabric net on a folding net with this to prevent hooks from getting stuck worked great
Derrick B. : No more tangles.
You catch more fish when you dont have to spend time untangling and ripping hooks out of net every time you net a fish. A little heavy compared to mesh, but worth it. Also if practicing catch and release, the rubber does not take off the fish slime coat which could kill it. Great buy.
Jenise Floyd : Excellent quality!
Perfect fit! Sturdy! Great quality!
Alaskagal : Good replacement net
This is much heavier than the net that it replaced. I do think it will be very durable - so far so good.
Johnathan Bradford : Great
A little expensive but a good replacement
Leonardo : Gran producto
Muy buen produto 100% recomendable
u/h2oguuy : a heavy all rubber net
a heavy all rubber net, unlike a much lighter Adamsbuilt "rubberized" net that I put on one of my smaller nets. This net will minimize fish stress and I don't see hooks being an issue with it either
Ken Smith : savage replacement net was perfect - win win win - fish are happier
savage replacement net was perfect - win win win - fish are happier, fisherman is happier, more time fishing, less time messing with tangled nets and having hooks in my fingers...
Shop man : To heavy and to thick
The webbing is to thick and heavy. The heaviness makes it hard to manage.
ironfish : EXCELLENT NET!
5.0 out of 5 stars HEAVY DUTY NET, May 12, 2015 By ironfish Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Frabill Tangle Free Rubber Replacement Net, 20 x 23-Inch (Sports) I LOVE IT! It is a little bit heavy as others have said but, that is exactly why I love it! If you REALLY need a rubber net because of hard thrashing game fish caught on lures with treble hooks, this is the net for you! There are lighter silicone and rubber covered nets out there if your aim is conservation. They are not however, durable. I love catching schooling bluefish and striper with casting lures outfitted with treble hooks. When the action is fast and furious, You have a very limited time for this action! You do not want to waste a minute or sometimes more trying to unsnag a treble hook from your landing net. This is an excellent " Dump and Shake" net! I bought two so that I could take advantage of the free shipping and to have one packed away as a spare.
Hank : Heavier, drags
Went from a "string net" to this rubber one and I like it. Only thing is that I did expect, but didn't fully appreciate is it's much heavier feel in the water.
Analysis and Perspective : Fantastic Replacement - Upgrade to my oldie by goodie net
I was about to toss my old landing net for the pontoon boat that has caused a few choice words when untangling a hook from the rope like netting. I have a FishPond net that I love for the rivers, but dont take on the boat. This net is awesome, and fit my old net like a glove.
Amazon Customer : great replacement
Easy to replace, no more hooks stuck in the net
Rich : Great replacement
Replaced a fabric net on a folding net with this to prevent hooks from getting stuck worked great
T. Conner : great net
na
Russell B. : Just What I Wanted
Easy install, great at keeping hooks from getting tangled up with the net.
John Weaver : Very heavy material
The weight makes it awkward to use.
mlp : Too heavy to use.
The heaviest net I have ever held. The weight makes it hard to move around. It does look like it will be durable because I will be unlikely to use it.
John Ketchum : Best Net Ever
Both the original net and the replacement bag work as advertised. We predominately use artificial lures and with the old style net materials the trebble hooks would become imbedded in the net.Not so with a fraybil net. It all means more fishing time & less time wasted removing imbedded hooks from your net.Well worth the cost.
Richard T. Adams : Should Work Well
Appears durable, but expensive for what you get and heavy.
DLApple : Good product.
It took a little while to figure out how to install this but works great now.
tuna can : Buy this netting. You won’t regret it
This net is very durable and if you are a crankbait/topwater/jerkbait fisherman you’re going to love how it’s impossible to tangle up your lure’s treble hooks when netting a fish. And now a warning, this netting will increase the weight of your net from 12 ounces to 5 pounds. This netting is heavy. The fulcrum of your net’s weight will feel strange when you use this net one handed if landing a fish unassisted alone on a boat. Also your net will sink like a rock if it accidentally falls overboard. I suggest you affix a small egg shaped lobster trap bouy with 550 paracord to end of net handle to avoid losing net overboard.
John Weaver : Very heavy material
The weight makes it awkward to use.
Johnathan Bradford : Great
A little expensive but a good replacement
John Truchan : It works
I don’t have a frail net. But this fit my net great
BGoetz : Four Stars
easy to install and work great
Amazon Customer : pricey
its pricey but this is my second one no hook snags
Blacknight : Heavy rubber net
Looks good but quite heavy compared to the original nylon netting.
Steve Bethel : Works great but too heavy
I have used the standard size of this net for years and it works great. Very durable, doesn't get wrapped around the fish and easy to get the hooks out quickly. This bigger version works the same but is much heavier than I expected so be prepared for that. The big size of the rubber web also gives it quite a bit of water resistance when sweeping it through the water but for most netting situations, that is not an issue. If it could be made lighter without loosing any of the positive attributes, I would upgrade.
The artist RawfeyL : Best Net Replacement, ever!
Believe it or not I use this net to retrieve/shag golf balls for my local course. We all pick them up by hand and an older fellow who is our lead picker invented this method of using a trout net and golf club to scoop them up. I tore through a few nets and decided to 'rubberize'. This is the best net I have ever seen, easy to clean and practically indestructible, no matter what you are 'shagging'.
Doug G : Replaced the conventional nylon netting with the Frabill rubber tangle-free ...
Replaced the conventional nylon netting with the Frabill rubber tangle-free product. Our annual Canada trip is fishing for Northern Pike. A main concern is safely removing these large fish from the twisted and tangled netting with one or more treble hook involved. This product is a HUGE improvement. No tangles, no fish twisted up in the net, etc. Release of the fish back into the water is five-fold faster and safety for both angler and fish is vastly improved. Absolutely worth the extra cost.
Derrick B. : No more tangles.
You catch more fish when you dont have to spend time untangling and ripping hooks out of net every time you net a fish. A little heavy compared to mesh, but worth it. Also if practicing catch and release, the rubber does not take off the fish slime coat which could kill it. Great buy.
Deborah Becker : No more tangled baits or fish
In my old mesh net the crank baits and fish would often get tangled in the old net. With the new rubber net I haven’t had a fish or crank bait get stuck yet. Great product. The only negative is that is very heavy, but the trade off is worth it
baron summerville : Works perfect on ego crappie net hoop
Put this net on my ego crappie net after mice eat my old one up. Works great very durable fits good on the ego hoop.
craig lippo : To heavy
Replacement net was not the same as original. Very heavy rubber. And different instal
Fastfreight : well worth it!!
Highly recommended to replace original or twine nets .. lures don't get caught in it and much easier on the fish
ed bates : has 2-4" more than suggested
replaced two nets with this product, great love it
bojamp : A little heavy………
A little heavy, but otherwise excellent.
Deborah Becker : No more tangled baits or fish
In my old mesh net the crank baits and fish would often get tangled in the old net. With the new rubber net I haven’t had a fish or crank bait get stuck yet. Great product. The only negative is that is very heavy, but the trade off is worth it
V. Myers : Great replacement for any net.
Best thing I have bought this year for fishing on the boat. No tangled fish or fins. Catch and release that I feel much better about as there is much less harm to the fish.
Ozzie T Day : Nice but high
Nice but high

S. Customer : A little tricky to put on net frame, but overall good fit.
Netting took a little effort to install but fit well on my frame. Haven't used it yet but don't see any reason why it will not work as advertised. Wonder how long it will last? Original was 10 years old when gopher used it for bedding.
Alaskagal : Good replacement net
This is much heavier than the net that it replaced. I do think it will be very durable - so far so good.
Amazon Customer : great buy
wish i would have bought sooner. no more hooks caught in the net
Ben : Too Heavy
This replacement net fit well but is way too heavy. Making netting a fish by yourself very challenging.
John Weaver : Very heavy material
The weight makes it awkward to use.
Bobcat : Awesome money saver and great product
Had an old nylon net that sucked to use. Hooks, lures and even the fish would become a tangled mess. Used a rubber net on a fishing trip with friends and knew I had to have one. Problem was they cost far more then this net only. I cut the old nylon tangler net off the frame. Measured according to some videos I found online and from other amazon reviews. Upgraded the net for a fraction of the cost. Used on a trip to the northwoods and it was worth its weight in gold. If you have a frame with an old nylon tangler, BUY THIS AND UPGRADE!!!
