I mainly fish trout in streams and lakes and honestly a big trout for me is 16 to 17 inches. I like this foldable net as it is sturdy enough to handle a 2 pound trout. I love the extendable handle.

I have a small pond in front of my house that attracts Cane Toads. I have been using a net to capture them. This net is great because it is nice and deep. Because it is made for fish, it is more sturdy than using other kind of nets such as butterflies, or other small reptiles. I also love how deep the net is, keep the toad inside easily. If I had one negative comment it would be that I would love a much longer handle, but that is because I need to sneak up on the toads. I am not as Cheetah like as I was in my younger years.

I have not tried to land a fish with it yet, but I find it lightweight and foldable for easy storage. This allows for it to go in my general storage bin in the the middle of the boat for easy access from the front or back as needed.

While the item looked and felt great. It did not serve its purpose. The first fish I caught using it got terribly tangled in the net with the bait. It was impossible to get the fish or bait out. Had to cut it with scissors.

The net appears well constructed and looks to be capable of pulling up a good sized fish without any issues - not that I have had the ability to catch this said fish and test the net yet :-(
But I do expect it will last a long time, while a fixed long shaft net has less to go wrong and therefore more reliability, this net doesn't take up as much room, is easy to handle for shorter pick ups, and appears to have a good durability.
My only recommendation for improvement would be using a finer mesh to cause less damage to the fish, but this is mitigatable through being careful.

This is a great net. I know its for fishing however, I use it to catch my chickens. If you have ever tried to catch a free range ch8ckenyou know this can be humorous and fustrating and next to impossible le. This netting is perfect size and I lov that it's sort of square. If I fished I am sure this would even be better. Love this net MD it sire has,are life easier for me if a chicken needs doctoring or just needs to be caught! Highly recommended and its very .ight weight.

I ordered this expecting it to have a carbon fiber handle as advertised. It is NOT carbon fiber. It appears to be painted aluminum the best I can tell. Save your money and buy the aluminum handle. I have had many carbon fiber products before and this is NOT carbon fiber!
