Answer: A trap...smh yea it's kinda a trap in a way i guess. but it's really a net. That's why it's called a fyke net or a hoop net. Not a hoop trap. Your probly thinking of a minnow trap. This is not a minnow trap. A lot more goes into this net then just throwing it over. You can bait them but most people don't they attach a leader net to them. The fish see or hit the the small net that's attached to hoop net and swims down it to get around and swims inside the hoop net. ^_^

Answer: Absolutely! Another common method is to use a hoop net drag, a type of anchor that "fishes" for the line. Drag it along the bottom to catch the hoop net line and pull it up.

What size mesh? I think we have to use 1-1/2

Answer: Only the 30" has a 1 1/2" mesh option. The 20" net only comes in 1 1/8". Look at the available options on the page, from top to bottom:

People don’t listen to Audra Lizada hoop nets are suppose to be dipped and coated. See my net it’s old and been in the water awhile. It’s time to redip it. The reason for that is so your fish does not tangle up and they seem to go inside more! Just always pick it up from the rear of the net cause fish will run out the back! Good luck fishing!
