Answer: I got it for my grandchildren and they have used it a few times and like it. They did catch crabs with them.

How do you keep the trap open? It collapses. Theres a red ring and a white ball. How do they work?

Answer: Pull it open with the white ball until it clicks. Attach the string that comes with it to the red ring then attach the other end of the string to the trap for retrieval.

Will this net be missing?

Answer: Welp, I'll say this.. if you set this trap and then leave it, and during the time you left, someone else finds it an wants to keep it, there wont be anyone around to stop them right? Word to the wise... Find a place not so wide out in the open and try to make the cord used to retrieve it, not so obvious. Camouflage it good enough to where nobody else will see it but not so good that you wont be able to find again. that my advice to you! Other than that, its a fantastic tool to acquire free bait!! woo hooo!

Answer: The string is cheap. I lost it the first day and had to fish for it so I suggest that if you order put a heavier duty string on it

Answer: No, I don’t think so. The quality was very bad, not recommend to buy.

Answer: Don't know the exact measurements but this I can tell you: they work. Once they are in there's no escape. Every once in a while we find small turtles inside trying to eat the bait but not a big deal.

Answer: It works well in any water.....if it is legal. It is not legal in freshwater in Florida.

Answer: As he grabbed the white fasteners of the trap net and pulled out the rope,Then pull out the rope. The net will open automatically. Keep pulling out the rope until the lock is closed automatically,Put food in a bag in the middle of a shrimp net and put it in water.

I assembled this trap last night and the following morning, i found out that it breaks by itself, the white plastic that locks the trap is too brittle and too weak to support the trap. This will make your blood boil!!!

If You have To Many Fish In It And It Gets too heave the metal rods bend and it is un-usable. I got about three uses out of mine before the wouldnt lay flat or even close anymore.

First time I used these two nets I caught 13 blue crabs and 3 large eels. They are very well made and i have had them in and out of salt water for about 2 weeks now with no problem. Also if you look into them daily you can catch small bait fish, but if you leave them in all night they escape or the crabs eat them. Great product, well mad and easy to use.

The net is easy to use and lightweight. My husband love fishing and catching crabs so I got this for our FL trip. The net was good at catching small crabs. It is not sturdy in the water so you have to keep an eye on it so often. Big fish tend to knock down the net so we had to fix it. The net is very thin so I don’t know it this net can last a long time since we only used it once and it’s already kind of bended. I think this net is more suitable for small lakes and ponds not for ocean catching. We didn’t really catch anything on our trip but We will try again on our next water trip.

My likes is that it worked and actually held more then I though it would. About 24 3 inch sun fish and a turtle in one trap.
My dislikes is….there is not an opening to reach in besides the same hole to retrieve your catch. It’s not bottom heavy and therefore lands and rolls upside down. And the final one is the string is so brittle on them that on broke and the white stopper came off and got lost while retrieving it.
So when you get it replace the black string with something stronger, and maybe cut a slit where there is a zipper as there is no other way to get anything in or out besides the holes for the critters.

The net is easy to use and lightweight. Good to catch small crabs. It is very thin so I used it once and it is already kind of bended. The quality is not good enough but it's only $24.5 and comes with 2 packs.

I've used this trap several times and always had a pretty decent catch. I've learned not to leave it more than three hours at a time due to turtles. The throats are big enough a turtle can get into it and drown. I haven't caught any crawfish in it but plenty of small bait fish. I would recommend and will probably buy again.

So, if the zipper on the trap had not been sown shut, the trap would be maybe 3.5
stars. After a single, use the umbrella arms had bent and had to be repositioned just to close the trap. The umbrella needs improvement. BUT we did catch small to medium fish, eel, shrimp, and some hungry crabs- just from tossing it into a tidal creek twice from a little dock. So, it is an effective style trap. Definitely would give it 4 stars in FUN points for the kids. If the zipper functioned, it would be 5 stars in fun points.

The traps shows a bait release on the bottom of the trap, but the two I received didn’t have the release on the bottom. They had a little zipper on the side that wasn’t even open on both traps. Very disappointed in the traps not coming to me the same way they show them in the site

Super easy to use. We set 4 different styles of traps today.
These 2 are the only 2 that produced and it only took literally under a minute to shake it off and close it , and slide it into the original plastic umbrella bag it came in.
You can fit 10 traps in their bag in a 5 gal bucket for transport :)

Unfortunately on first use the trap broke. I did use it in the river with fast moving water which may have played a role but I was a little disappointed as I had done research and expected a little more durability.

Only use in still water, even a light current collapses it irreparably. Also, it's no match for big turtles, one shredded mine while blue crabbing. It did catch some crabs before the turtle tho. Very innovative, be sweet if materials could be more robust.

It's nice and light weight, caught a bunch of creek chubs and bluegill with it. How ever the mesh rips easy if your not careful. Seems to work better when lowering and raising vertically but not ideal for trying to pull it in from the bank, that's how it ripped.

Really did not even want to give it a star. It is very cheap made and would have to put weights on it to set it down in a current . It got locked at the top sideways and I had to break it to get it unlocked , just such a disappointment for my nephew.
