How do you keep the trap open? It collapses. Theres a red ring and a white ball. How do they work?

Q:
Will this net be missing?
Answer: Welp, I'll say this.. if you set this trap and then leave it, and during the time you left, someone else finds it an wants to keep it, there wont be anyone around to stop them right? Word to the wise... Find a place not so wide out in the open and try to make the cord used to retrieve it, not so obvious. Camouflage it good enough to where nobody else will see it but not so good that you wont be able to find again. that my advice to you! Other than that, its a fantastic tool to acquire free bait!! woo hooo!
Answer: The string is cheap. I lost it the first day and had to fish for it so I suggest that if you order put a heavier duty string on it

JOE Z : ????????
????????
Brent Garman : a real fisherman's must have
If you love to fish with natural bait it's a must have works phenomenal
TN : Over all my kids had fun using it
My kids and I had a blast , even though we didn’t catch anything at the lake they had a ball . I think we need to use other types of bate
IRA R KINDLE : It works
Easy to put up .
Kyle Stopa : Quality but not perfect
Works great. Just remember not to drive the boat away while it’s submerged :-/ . Can’t drop it in any current as it will not drop straight and will tip over
james womble : Lots of minnows
Very very good
agustin : Research and find out what is available out there.
They break very easily, broke the first time I used it.very disappointed.
Kindle Customer : Trap is usable, but should be thicker material.
Thought the material would be thicker, more substantial.
Guilin Tang : Does not work for Crab
Crabs do not get into the net.
Net was broken on the first time use
elaine : Bad quality
Bad quality , All damaged after one time used
Amazon Customer : Junk, doesn’t work
This is a piece of crap!!! 10 minutes into the water, it splits into half from the middle. Don’t buy. Waste of money!!!!
franky : The quality of this product is not as good as before
The quality of this product is not as good as it used to be, and now it is broken after one use.丶
IRA R KINDLE : It works
Easy to put up .
Cantley : Consider These Disposable
Easy to set up and use, but will break down very quickly. Any abrasion from the bottom, larger crabs, or fish will rip the netting. Don't plan to bring them from your trip. Just catch $25 of bait to break even and leave them in the trash.
Stephanie : Don’t do it
Don’t work for crawfish, turtles and muskrats eating right through it. Lasted 1 day.
Michael : Amazing
This crawdad trap is very easy to use and fold up, but it is also very light. This trap would not able to use for crab fishing but crawdad and minnow fishing it’s amazing
agustin : Research and find out what is available out there.
They break very easily, broke the first time I used it.very disappointed.
Daniel : Worked OK on first outing
Used this on a lake to go for cray fish. Worked pretty well, caught quite a few. Biggest problem we had was that the traps are too light and not weighted well, so when we'd toss them out they'd flip upside down. Took quite a bit of messing around to get them flipped back over so they'd work. Thinking of adding some weights to the ends of the legs before we go out next time, see if that helps keep them upright and in place.
Sehyon Park : Doesn't work
Too weak, too hard to catch fish.
Mr Glenn : Cheap
Cheap tears in about 5 minutes
Mr Glenn : Cheap
Cheap tears in about 5 minutes
Stella : Very bad quality, both were damaged after one time use.
Very bad quality, both were damaged after one time use. One of them was a defective one even when I opened it. I have to throw them away after the first time using. Not worthy for this price at all.
Dennis E. Phillips : Not so great
This might work well in stationary water. But for catching shrimp in a title Creek. Forget about it. Very flimsy
JR : Easier to use than expeccted!
Light weight, yet durable! Used it right away to see which fish were breeding in our pond. It's easy to catch & release!
Brent Garman : a real fisherman's must have
If you love to fish with natural bait it's a must have works phenomenal
Tiffany S. : Don’t waste your money
I used them about a week and they were torn…never caught fish in them….I suggest the barrel type that pops open in the middle and is made of metal
Carlos morales : Bad
I’m so sorry but this just keeps breaking. The durability of the bars fails way too much
Cody : Great trap but ripped the mesh.
It's nice and light weight, caught a bunch of creek chubs and bluegill with it. How ever the mesh rips easy if your not careful. Seems to work better when lowering and raising vertically but not ideal for trying to pull it in from the bank, that's how it ripped.
Terry Roberson : Worth the money
It works well for catching minnows.
Caroline (Carrie) Young : Works but...
It effectively snared a bunch of small fish and 6 or so crabs BUT there is no way to get them out! There is a fairly small zipper on the side; however, there is netting where one would expect a space. I mean, I guess I can cut it but it’s super annoying.
Brandon : Turtles
Watch out for turtles but did the job
Mr Glenn : Cheap
Cheap tears in about 5 minutes
Bob : Great trap. Comes with rope and floating marker.
Caught dozens of crawfish is less than 2 hours. Just be gentle when opening it up. If you force it, the umbrella frame will get damaged.
Brandon : Turtles
Watch out for turtles but did the job
Angela : Do not buy
Does not work falls apart. NOT worth the money.
Archman : light duty
these are great for a one time trip and throw away. i don't they would hold up for use on a regular basis. we used them for a week vacation trip and for the cost they were amazing
Bud Debow : Better than what I expected
I've used this trap several times and always had a pretty decent catch. I've learned not to leave it more than three hours at a time due to turtles. The throats are big enough a turtle can get into it and drown. I haven't caught any crawfish in it but plenty of small bait fish. I would recommend and will probably buy again.
michael e edwards : Very lightweight mesh
I would not use any type of meat or fish turtles will destroy it quickly looks like it would work well for minnows.

ltcalb : Bate fish trap
like what I see
Amazon Customer : Junk, doesn’t work
This is a piece of crap!!! 10 minutes into the water, it splits into half from the middle. Don’t buy. Waste of money!!!!
mendy : Good trap
I love this thing. The fact that it folds up like an umbrella is one of the best features. Bigger fish can swim in there but they can't swim out. pretty durable. Great invention. I got my fish trap in about a week. Not to bad shipping from over the ocean.
Guilin Tang : Does not work for Crab
Crabs do not get into the net.
Net was broken on the first time use
Amazon Customer : Don’t use in swift water.
Unfortunately on first use the trap broke. I did use it in the river with fast moving water which may have played a role but I was a little disappointed as I had done research and expected a little more durability.

Brodie : Cheap quality but it's cheap for money.
It's a cheaply made net but it was like 12 bucks per each net so you get what you pay for. I have them for emergency use if I need something right away. I wouldn't use it for daily fishing.
Jacob : Dont buy
Dont buy
Dee L Gentry : Old man
Light weight, great value, catches small fish and minnows and crawdads. Keep away from the dogs…
